Social justice is the view that

What are the 4 types of social justice?
This article points out that there are four different
types of justice:
►distributive (determining who gets what) it concerned with
the fair distribution of the burdens and benefits of social cooperation among diverse persons with
competing needs
► procedural (determining how fairly people are
treated)
how people's perception of fairness is strongly impacted by the quality of their
experiences
► retributive (based on punishment for wrong-doing)
legal punishment that requires the offender to receive a punishment for a crime
proportional and similar to its offense
► restorative (which tries to restore relationships to
"rightness.") an approach to justice that aims to get offenders to take responsibility for
their actions, to understand the harm they have caused, to give them an opportunity to redeem
themselves, and to discourage them from causing further harm
Empowerment & advocacy

It is a process of supporting people and


advancing or promoting the rights these
individuals have. Advocacy, in connection with
community engagement, also means attaining
people empowerment. It can be led by people
who are not part of the community or by
leaders within the community.

A process through which
groups and communities

dialogue and consensus.
