Researcher: Dandreb O. Batica
Adviser: Dr. Andres C. Pagatpatan, Jr. Things to be presented: • Introduction and background of the study • Statement of the problem • Design and method of the study • Technique that will be use in the study • Respondents • Research instrument Introduction and background of the study • Employed by ESAMELCO • ESAMELCO as an electric utility provider • Renewal of ESAMELCO’s franchise • Current trends in the industry • Key players that will help achieved the identified issues Statement of the problem 1. What is the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of? 1.1 Socioeconomic status profile; 1.2 Salary; 1.3 Status of employment; 1.4 Geographical assignment; and 1.5 Education and training?
2. What is the level of performance of ESAMELCO’s warrior of light?
3. Is there a significant relationship between these factors and the level of
performance of ESAMELCO’s warriors of light? Design and Method of the study I. Descriptive research design This is a type of research design that aims to systematically obtain information to describe a phenomenon, situation, or population. More specifically, it helps answer the what, when, where, and how questions regarding the research problem rather than the why. II. Quantitative research method a method of research that relies on measuring variables using a numerical system, analyzing these measurements using any of a variety of statistical models, and reporting relationships and associations among the studied variables. Technique of the research study I. Simple random sampling • Each member of the population has an equal chance of being selected as a respondent • Study will be using the Slovin's formula to address resource and time constraints that exist • The margin of error in the study is set at 5%
II. Data Gathering
• It will be held for 10 working days • The survey questionnaire will be conducted on a face-to-face basis • Data collection will involve a two-step process Respondents • Lineman and Groundsman Maintenance, Substation Tender, Meter Disconnector/Reconnector, and Electrical Engineers • Total of 122 regular and non-regular warriors of light • Only warriors of lights who have an employee-employer relationship will be considered in this study Research instrument • Survey questionnaire • The instrument is based on the Performance Evaluation Sheet used by the Cooperative when they are evaluating a prospective applicant for regularization with modification to capture the needed data of the study • Rating is compose of two parts • Performance aspect • Behavioral aspect Research instrument THANK YOU!
