“Scanner” refers to an electronic device use
convert physical images or text into a digital
format. Scanners are typically used to scan
dokuments, photos or other images and
convert them into digital files that can be
saved or edited on a commputer.

 Various types of Scanner
1. Scanner Drum
The scanner drum uses photomultiplier tube
(PMT) technology to read the object to be
scanned. This scanner drum is usually used
to scan large-sized images, although it can
also be used for small-sized images.
2. Flatbed Scanner
Flatbed ScannerThis type of scanner uses
CCD (Charge Coupled Device) or CIS
(Contact Image Sensor) technology as the
"eyes" to read scanned objects. This scanner
is the most commonly found and used,
because its technology can be considered
relatively inexpensive and already
commonly used.
3. Scanner Roller
The most fundamental difference of this type
of scanner is how it "pulls" the document. If a
flatbed scanner moves the scanner "head," this
type of Scanner Roller "pulls" the document
to pass over the scanner head. This process
results in fast document pulling, making it
efficient for scanning a large number of
documents.This type of scanner is further
divided into 2 groups, namely ADF
(Automatic Document Feeder) and Sheet
Feed.
