GOVERNANCE AND
ETHICAL STANDARD

What is Ethics?
Promote the aims and purposes of the cooperative, the success of its
business and the spirit of Cooperativism in all their dealings.
Have the moral rectitude to sacrifice self-interest for the greater number
in keeping with the time-honored principle of delicadeza.
Work harmoniously with everyone and give due courtesy and respect to
officers, members and the general public in all their dealings.
ARTICLE VI
VIOLATIONS/OFFENSES AND PENALTIES/SANCTIONS
1. Grave offenses –
a. dishonesty
b. willful or deliberate destruction of IPEMPC property
c. neglect of duty
d. being notoriously undesirable
e. falsification of official documents and/or submission of falsified
documents
f. Grave threats against IPEMPC officials and management staff
2. Less grave offenses –
a. grave public scandal
b. creating malicious mischief
c. spreading gossip or rumors that may destroy the integrity of IPEMPC
d. willful failure to pay just debts
3. Light offenses -
a. discourtesy in the course of official duty
b. violation of reasonable IPEMPC rules and regulations
c. failure to act promptly on letters within fifteen (15) days from
receipt
B. Commission of offenses and corresponding
sanctions/penalties;
1. Grave offenses –
First offense – written warning
Second offense – one on one meeting/counseling
Third offense – will be considered as Non-MIGS
Fourth offense – suspension of all loan privileges
2.Less grave offenses –
First offense – written warning
Second offense – one on one meeting/counseling
Third offense – will be considered as Non-MIGS
3.Light offenses –
First offense – written warning
Second offense – one on one meeting/counseling
Ethics mean more than merely obeying laws and
following policies. Ethics also mean “doing the
right thing for the right reasons” no matter what
our job or responsibilities with the IPECMPC shall
be. Much more shall be expected of us today
than ever with regard to our standards and
behaviors. All officers, employees and members
are expected to maintain the highest ethical
practices in works and dealings both inside and
outside IPECMPC. We have an affirmative duty
to promote and advance the interests of the
IPECMPC and each one should be concerned with
the welfare of the members.
