The main goal is to develop concern and awareness among
world population about the total environment and its associated
problems.
The GOALS of Environment education are:
 To improve the quality of Environment
 To create awareness among the people on environmental
problems conversations.
 To create an atmosphere so that people participate in decision-
making and developmental programs.

The AIMS of Environmental Education are as follows:


 To provide different groups of people as well as graduates in
variety of professional fields with the knowledge needed to
develop a sense of responsibility towards the environment and
the rational and the utilization of its riches.
 To make use of these knowledge and skills to preserve,
conserve and utilize the environment in a sustainable manner
for the benefits of present and future generation.
The OBJECTIVES of Environmental educational are
classified as follows:
 Awareness- Acquire an awareness of and sensitivity to the
total environment and its allied problems.
 Knowledge-Gain a variety of experiences and acquire a basic
understanding of the environment and its associated problems.
 Attitudes-Acquire a set of values and feeling of concern for
the environment the motivation for actively participating in
environmental improvement and protection.
 Skills- Acquire skills for identifying and solving
environmental problems.
 Participation- To provide social groups and individuals with
an opportunity to be actively involved at all levels working
towards the resolution of environmental problem.

 Improves Student achievement in core subject areas.
 Provides critical tools for a 21st century workface.
 Helps address “Nature Deficit Disorder”
Environmental education connects us to the world around us,
teaching us about both natural and built
environments. Environmental education raises awareness of
issues impacting the environment upon which we all depend,
as well as actions we can take to improve and sustain it.
CLASSIFICATION OF
POLLUTION AND POLLUTANTS:

Pollution is defined as the presence of impurities or pollutant


substances in sufficient concentration levels, causing harmful
effects on human beings, animals, plant life or material resources
when exposed for a sufficient duration of time, thus reducing the
quality of life in the environment.
Pollution is the effect of undesirable changes in our surroundings
that have harmful effects on plants, animals and human beings.
Pollutants include solid, liquid or gaseous substances present in
greater than natural abundance, produce due to human activity,
which have a determined effect on our environment.

The ongoing issues and challenges for the future of
environmental education are numerous, but some points
are clear. Firstly, the ‘environmental crisis’ won’t go
away. Survey after survey indicates that there is
sustained, and generally increasing, community concern
about the state of the environment. Environmental
groups, industry conflicts and political confrontations
over the environment are a constant feature of media
reporting
The National Service Training Program (NSTP) of the Philippines
was promulgated through Republic Act No. 9163 in 2001 and
implemented in 2002. The primary aim is to enhance civic
consciousness and defense preparedness among higher education and
technical-vocational students through the development of the ethics
of service and patriotism as expressions of love of people and
country in their cognitive and affective learning domains.

In year 2001, Republic Act 9163 was created. It is An Act


Establishing the National Service Training Program (NSTP) for
the Tertiary Level Students, amending for the Purpose Republic Act
No 7077 and Presidential Decree No 1706 and for other purpose or
also known as the National Service Training Program (NSTP) Act
of 2001.
PROGRAM COMPONENTS OF THE NSTP

1.Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC). A program institutionalized


under Section 38 and 39 of RA No. 7077 designed to provide military
training to tertiary level students in order to motivate, train, organized and
mobilize them for national defense preparedness.

2.Literacy Training Service. A program designed to train students to


become teachers of literacy and numeracy skills to school children, out of
school youth, and other segments of society in need of their service.

3.Civic Welfare Training Service. Refers to programs of activities


contributory to the general welfare and the betterment of life for members
of the community or the enhancement of its facilities, especially those
devoted to improving health, education, environment, entrepreneurship,
safety, recreation and morals of the citizen.
The goal of the law and of the program is to harness the
strength and capacity of the youth to contribute to nation-
building, thus the National Service Reserve Force was
created to enlist CWTS and LTS graduates which is also
equivalent to the Citizen Armed Force of the ROTC.
