History Is the study of events that
happened in the past and causes of
those events.
• It is derived from the Greek word
History “historia”, which means
“knowledge acquired through
inquiry or investigation.
Historiography deals with the study
of history itself.
History
Traditional history believe that historical
events should backed up with written
documents.

• Historians can write history through


historical shreds of evidence. They are
responsible for the analysis,
interpretation, and organization of the
facts.

• Historical source is an original source that contains
important historical information. These sources are
something that inform us about history at the most basic
level, and are used as clues in order to study history.

There are 2 main type Source of historical data:


1. Primary sources
2. secondary sources

produced while the past event
was happening usually by actors
of history themselves, such as
government institutions or
revolutionary leaders.

Historical Criticism

Historical criticism, literary criticism in the


light of historical evidence or based on the
context in which a work was written,
including facts about the author's life and the
historical and social circumstances of the
time.
There are 2 types of historical criticism:
1. External criticism
2. Internal criticism
1. External criticism it is the
process of verifying historical
characteristics, and analyzing it’s
material consistency with the
Historical period, it was produced.

2. Internal criticism is the
examination of the content of the
material, including it’s
truthfulness.
