1. USED HAND STEERING FOR STEERING WITH MAGNETIC COMPASS


2. APPLY COMPASS DEVIATION VALUE TO MAGNETIC COMPASS WITH THE HELP DEVIATION CARD
AND OBSERVATION
3. CONSIDER EFFECT ON OTHER NAVIGATIONAL AND COMUNICATION WHICH HAVE A GYRO FEED
ESPECIALLY RADAR / ARPA AND ENTER HEADING MANUALY.
4. PLOT POSITION MORE FREQUENTLY TO CONFIRM COURSE MADE GOOD AND ACCORDINGLYA
ALLOW CORRECTION TO COURSE STEERED. IN COASTAL WATERS, MAKE GOOD USE PARALLEL
INDEXING TECHNIQUE TO KEEP VESSEL ON CHARTED TRACK.
5. ALSO SECURE TRUE COURSE RUN (COURSE MADE GOOD) BY PLOTTING GPS POSITION AND
VERIFY WITH HEADING OF MAGNETIC COMPASS
6. REDUCE SPEED IF CONSIDERED NECESSARY
7. ANY DOUBT / HESITATE CALL MASTER EARLY
