Interdependency in T&T
• Interdependency = when two or more T&T
organisations rely on each other to provide
their products and services.
• These organisations are mutually
dependent- they rely on each other and
could not provide their products without the
other.

• An interrelationship is when T&T


organisations choose to work together.
• Both organisations have some benefit.
• Both organisations can exist without the
other- unlike interdependencies.
• Look at the picture on the right- explain
the interrelationship that you see.

Interrelationships

• This café has branches all around the world, and it can
survive without having a kiosk in the airport. If it opens a
branch in the airport, they will benefit from the profit of
the sales.
• The airport benefits from the rent/fee of the café as well as
an improved travel experience for customers passing
through the airport.
• An improved travel experience means that customers are
more likely to return to the same airport/airline, as well as
increasing the airport’s global ranking.

providing excursions in the desert, which
includes; dune bashing, camel rides, visiting the
