MOLINA?
Antonio Jesús Na guia t Mo lina, born on December 26,
1894, in Quia po, Ma nila, was a distinguished Filipino
composer, conduc to r, a nd m usic administrator. He is
recognized as a Na tion a l Artist of the Philippines for
his significan t co ntribu tion s to music, Molina earned
the moniker "Cla ude Deb ussy of the Philippines" for
incorporating im pre ssionist themes into his
compositions. In 191 2, h e de buted with "Matinal," the
first piece in his e xte nsive re pertoire, documented in
the unpublishe d c ollec tion "Miniaturas, Vol. 11."
