Thriller ideas.

Follows a solider returning from war in Afghanistan, who suffers from post traumatic stress from losing his squad in a bomb attack. He was lucky enough to survive but now cant deal with his guilt.

2 minute sequence.

First idea: man returns home to his apartment with no loved ones to greet him, walks through the door puts bag down then have some non diegetic music to create suspense, moves to kitchen area puts kettle on and then looks to a picture of his squad on the fridge door. Music reaches climax as the sequence would end.

2 minute sequence.

Second idea: solider gets into taxi and would be driving along, taxi driver asks where he been, he doesnt reply but looks to the side as he flashes back to being in a jeep. With his squad. Explosion of the bomb, dust then he is back in the taxi.

Isolation.

Humanity has now revolves around technology, and human interaction is gone. the streets are empty because only talk to each other via the internet. it Happened because of the war, which cut of families and countries from each other. The prime ministers and presidents of the world are having a meeting via video call to try and get people out and to get society back to the norm. The system then goes down due to unknown problem, chaos then spreads around the world once again.

2 minute sequence.

Begins with images of the main cities of the world in disaster. Society is shown to be breaking down, so much so that people are scared to go out of their own homes which leads to people having to communicate via technology. We will see empty cities with daunting music.

Snow Storm

Its basic storyline is about a man who is effected by the freak snow storm that hits the east coast of the USA. He lives in an extremely remote area and all communication lines to other parts of the country have been cut off by the snow. In this condition he has to try and survive on the little supplies that he has left. Eventually he becomes delusional, imagining things that arent there. In the end rescue finally comes to him after a few weeks, but not in time to save him from going insane.

2 minute sequence.

The diegetic sound of a tuning radio would come on shortly followed by the sound of a tap running and plates being washed in a sink. The shot would then cut to the main character looking out the window as he listens to the radio talk about an expected freak snow storm. From different shot we then learn about the characters reaction to the news over the radio.

The Egyptian Boat

This thriller idea is political. It follows the journey of a boat in the red sea. The Egyptians are planning to make an oil deal with the Iranians but the Americans dont want this to happen. So they send an undercover agent on to the boat where the deal is being disgusted, to stop it from happening at all costs.

2 minute sequence

The title sequence would begin with an establishing shot of New York. Then we would see the outside of a business building, then moving the camera through the vents to a base underneath the building where the agent would be getting his brief about his task. We wouldnt here all the exact deals but we could see a map of the where the boat was to learn where the location of the film would be.
