Corpus Delicti is the body of the crime.

To establish Corpus sCorp Delicti in arson there are two elements they
are:

1. Burning of the house or other things.


2. The Criminal group that caused it.

Arson is established by providing the corpus delicti, usually in the form


of Circumstantial Evidence.
Basic Methods of Fire
Investigation
1. Preservation of fire scene
- Consider the fire scene itself as evidence
- Avoid Contamination, loss or unnecessary movement of physical
evidence within the fire scene
- Secure the fire scene from unauthorized intrusion.
- Limit the access in the fire scene to those persons who only need to
be there.
2. Examination of the fire scene
- Examination should be thorough
- Analyze fire patterns
- Trace fire spread
- Identify areas and point of origin
- Identify the fuel involved
- Established the corpus delicti by eliminating all
natural or accidental causes
