TRAVEL ABROAD
Annual Travel Quota Entitlement for Resident
Bangladeshi for Private Travel Abroad against Visit
Visa:
For adult (for a calendar year):
• Total USD 12,000 or equivalent freely
convertible foreign currency
For minor (below 12 years) for a calendar year:
Half of Adult
• Total USD 6,000 or equivalent freely convertible
foreign currency
Check list for Release of Foreign Exchange against Visit
Visa:
• The intending traveler is a client or well known
to the AD
• Valid VISA
• Confirmed ticket
• Unused entitlement
Required Documents for Release of Foreign Exchange
Against Visit Visa:
• Photocopies of passport (For MRP—First two pages
and other than MRP-First 6 pages)
• Photocopy of the page bearing valid VISA
• Photocopy of the page recording endorsement of
foreign exchange
• Photocopy of confirmed ticket (after endorsement)
• TM form (duly filled and signed)
• Release of foreign exchange without valid visa and
ticket: Maximum USD 200 or equivalent
• Release of foreign exchange on account of transit
expenses to Bangladeshi students proceeding
abroad for study against one way ticket : Unused
annual travel quota to be released. No separate
entitlement will be admissible for expenses in
transit
• Release of foreign exchange to resident Bangladeshi
nationals proceeding abroad against one way ticket
for valid job or migrating abroad: Unused annual
travel quota to be released
Release of Foreign Exchange for Travel on
Health Ground:
• Up to USD 10,000 or equivalent on the basis of the
recommendation of the medical board set by the
health Directorate or
• Appropriate medical specialists and the cost estimate
of the foreign medical institution.
• Such facility may also be usable through
international cards (Prepaid/Debit/Credit)
Release of Foreign Exchange to private sector
participants for Attending Seminars,
Conferences and Workshops Abroad:
Irrespective of countries or regions AD may release
• USD 400 per diem for actual period of the
program to be held
• along with 01 (one) additional day as transit
• on the basis of invitation letters received in
the name of applicants or their employer
institutions.
Business Travel Quota Entitlement for
Exporters, Importers and Producers for the
Local Market:
• USD 400 per diem (daily allowance) subject to limits of
USD 4,000 per trip and USD 10,000 over a calendar year.
• Besides exporters will also been titled to use balance in
their foreign currency retention quota account for their
business visit abroad.
• This travel quota is also applicable for local agents
operating in Bangladesh on behalf of foreign principals
without limiting to licensed indenting agents and buying
agents.
Release of cash foreign currency/Taka against
per travel:
• Maximum USD 5,000 + Remaining entitlement
in other freely convertible foreign currency
(GBP, EUR etc.)Or,
• Full entitlement in other freely convertible
foreign currency.
• Maximum 10,000 Taka (Both incoming & Out
going Passenger)
Endorsement in Passport
Required:
• Cash -irrespective of entitlement/sources to persons other than
those holding foreign passport.
• Non-cash like, International Cards etc
Not required:
• Non-Cash (Pre-paid Card) out of balance in private FC/RFCD AC.
Endorsement for multiple years:
• For multiple years up to their validity
• Not for Bangladesh nationals proceeding abroad for
employment/immigration or study
• Supplementary cardholders may avail this under own passport
& entitlement.
