Conclusion - Tips
What should we never do in a conclusion? Say you will finish and carry on Start giving new information (if you forget sth its too late)

A Strong Opening !
How can you get your audiences attention at the beginning of the presentation? People form 90 % of their impression in the first 90 seconds

Hooks / Startling
As we have just mentioned when you start a presentation, you have to get your audience involved you hook them, you can use questions, pictures, actions, an interesting fact or anecdote.

Practice
You will be given a topic. In groups decide on the content of the presentation and write on a mahjong paper provided to show this. Then one member of the group will give the introduction to the presentation. You do not need to plan the whole presentation you only need to practice the introduction. Brainstorm the facts and ideas Select the relevant ideas Put them in the order Write the outline on a mahjong paper Choose a member of the group to present your ideas to the other participants. The presentation should take no more than 5 minutes.

Your Voice
The most important tool for your presentations is of course your voice. In groups brainstorm areas to consider. Voice Projection / Volume Pace and Pausing Intonation and Stress / Vocal Variety Pronunciation and Articulation

Voice Projection
You must be audible to everybody in the audience. Check that they can hear you at the back. Vary the volume to add colour and interest to your voice.

Pace and Pausing

In writing we use punctuation to separate ideas but in speaking we cannot do that. Instead, we can use pauses of different lengths. When you read it: Anyone can be a successful manager, but of course the unprepared, the untrained and those given too much responsibility before theyre ready will fail. Thats what this mornings presentation is about. When you present it: Anyone can be a successful manager, ____but of course the unprepared, ____the untrained and those given too much responsibility before theyre ready ____will fail. ____Thats what this mornings presentation ____is about. Pause at the end of sentences. Dont be afraid of periods of silence to let points sink in. pauses can also create suspense. Speak more slowly than in normal conversation, especially at the start of the presentation when the audience need to tune in to your voice.

Intonation and Stress

When you are speaking formally you need to add interest to what you say by varying your intonation. You need to extend your range of pitch, tone and volume to do it consciously.

3. Intonation and Stress

As a business EVOLVES it goes through FOUR BASIC STAGES. and at every stage of the business LIFE cycle your companys financial needs are going to CHANGE. So, what are those FOUR STAGES? Well, obviously, when your business is NEW what you need most of ALL is INVESTMENT capital and a detailed BUSINESS plan.

But once your business is established and GROWING and youve got a solid CUSTOMER base, then its time to look into INVESMENT and the proper use of your RESOURCES. Companies that fail to GROW simply DECLINE. so, as your business EXPANDS. youre almost certainly going to need additional FINANCING. And FINALLY, by the time the business is MATURE, youll want to get an accurate VALUATION so that, should you WANT to, you can sell off the company at a decent PROFIT.
