Maximum and minimum turning points


- For a maximum or a minimum point,
- The values of the turning point are called the critical values.
- To distinguish between a maximum or a minimum point, the second derivative is used as
a test:
Point of inflection
- For a point of inflection,

Sketching graphs using maximum and minimum values

Sketching graph you need to calculate the following:


- The critical values, the turning points, the points of inflection, the intercepts on the axes and sketch
the curve.
