WHAT IS LOCAL
SUNRISE?
•Local sunrise is the exact time the
Sun rises at a specific location.
•Unlike standard time zones, it
varies by longitude and latitude.
•In astrology, the new day starts
only after sunrise, not at 12:00 AM.
WHY SUNRISE MATTERS IN ASTROLOGY?
• Lagna (Ascendant) is calculated from
sunrise — it changes roughly every 2 hours.
• Daily Panchang (Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga,
Karana) begins after sunrise.
