What turns phenolphthalein indicator pink?
When the solution is acidic, then the
phenolphthalein indicator turns colorless and for
the basic solution, it turns pink. The given solution
changes the color of the indicator to pink. This
indicates that the solution is basic in nature and
therefore, the pH is more than 7.

distillation process
What is simple distillation?
In a simple distillation, a homogeneous liquid
mixture is boiled. The rising vapor then enters the
inner chamber of a water-cooled condenser. The
vapor condenses to a liquid, called the distillate,
which is then collected in a separate vessel.
