CHAIRMAN BO AUNG DIN OF THE PDP DECLARES THAT WE WILL NOT TURN A BLIND EYE TO THE
MILITARY JUNTA ATROCITES AGAINST THE MUSLIM ROHINGYA MINORITY
Date: 31st August 2012
I and the PDP leadership and our supporters strongly condemn the military Junta's inexcusable
device of creating situations by its own actions, which excite passions in particular communities
against other communities, which the Junta has labelled them non-national of Burma. This is the
case in the situation of the Rohingyas. The military has by illegal administrative fiat introduced
arbitrary laws, which deprived citizenship to the Rohingya community. Further, it waged a campaign
of harassment, persecution, and vilification and inciting other communities to join the bigotry, which
they have started.
I as Chairman of the PDP, heir to the legacy of General Aung San, The Thirty Comrades and other
leaders and U Nu, I declare forthright that all the legislation introduced by the treasonable military
Junta after the 1962 coup against the Government of U Nu, who won with a landslide majority in a
free and fair General Election, and further declare that all the laws introduced by the military Junta
to deprive the people known as Rohingyas of their citizenship/nationality are null and void
retrospectively or prospectively.
We adhere firmly to Prime Minister U Nu Government and the 1947 Constitution, which recognised
the Rohingya people in Burma as nationals entitled to enjoy all the rights accorded to other people.
Burma had a Radio Programme in their vernacular language. We therefore call upon all the people of
Burma to beware of this dishonourable use of exciting passions of hate, conflict and denial between
and among communities. Inter-community fighting is a way, which the military Junta is successfully
diverting attention from its own atrocities now and over the years, to deceive the people that it is on
their side. We appeal to all the people to exercise restraint not to attack Muslim communities,
because in doing they are themselves denying their own humanity. As Amnesty International has
said in Early August the military Junta troops deliberately meted out devastating violence against the
Muslim minority. We must point out to the people of Burma that the military Junta has been
following a Hitler Nazi programme of creating a superior master elite group, which will rule Burma
forever.
1
In the 50 years of atrocities, they have eliminated all the educated class, professionals and started to
develop their own elite superior race, which sadly, they have managed to substantially achieve. They
have destroyed most opposition parties or groups and have confidently embarked on the fiction of
"reforming democracy". This linguistic lie, must be exposed and rejected. Democracy cannot be
reformed just as military cannot be reformed as two cannot co-exist.
I and my colleagues convey our sympathies and condolences to all the families of all the
communities who have lost their loved ones, and earnestly ask you to desist from committing such
atrocities against other communities. Let us direct our anger and fury against the murderous
gangster military Junta and totally repudiate their evil works of hatred, Nazi philosophy as alien to
Burma.
Long live democracy
Long live the people of Burma
We will prevail
