Lone Star loses Metroplex contract! Knight Errant Seattle Police in 2069
After the sixth round of tightly contested -and controversialbidding, the new Metroplex policing contract has been awarded to Knight Errant. As of 1 July 2069, KE will assume full responsibility for Metroplex policing and safety for the next decade with an option to renew for a further fifteen. Lone Star officials expressed deep regret on losing the policing contract, Lone Star and Seattle have a long history together and we will be sorry to no longer be serving the Metroplex community. Knight Errant is honored by the trust shown by the Seattle Metroplex and we will work closely with Lone Star to ensure a smooth and safe transition of public safety, said Able Mayer who will be leading KE team in Seattle. Seattlites are expected to see KE patrols familiarizing themselves with the city starting in early 2069. A small number of LSSeattle personnel will be given the opportunity to transfer to the new KE force but actual numbers are as of yet unknown. Most of the civilian contractors who work with LS are expected to transition their services with minimal trouble. A new face for the Seattle police is long overdue, said Olga Quoth of ORC. While Lone Stars record in metahuman relations has improved, they are far from perfect.
The Metroplex council stated that the service guarantees by Knight Errant were what swung the bid but KE also highly discounted their first year billing which will save the Metroplex 17.2 million for the 69-70 FY.

Human-First Terrorists Gas Apartment Building

A Renton apartment building was the scene of some of the worst acts of racial violence in years when a canister of sarin gas was released into the apartment complex at 1212 Olympic Drive. The gas quickly overcame the tenant in the room it was released into and he was announced DOA at Seattle Mercy. A call to the emergency services around when the attack began allowed for an organized response and only one person, a male ork, was killed. The other tenants escaped avoiding serious exposure. My poor, poor boy, said the victims mother. He was just getting his life together. He had such a bright future. The building sprinkler system was activated when someone tripped the fire alarm to alert people, said Fire Department Investigator Emily Rose-Ibarra. That slowed the spread of the gas.
