Minister Robert Bolden is a graduate of the Ministry
Training Institute at Crenshaw Christian Center.
Bolden accepted the lordship of Jesus Christ in
1980. Bolden is the coordinator of Crenshaw
Christian Center’s “Health and Restoration
Information” where he speaks about health issues.
He also spearheads the HIV/AIDS program.
Minister Bolden is also an Instructor at Abundant
Harvest Christian Center School of Ministry in asso-
ciation with Trinity University, an accredited school of theology where
he teaches classes such as the Principles of Faith, Pneumatology &
Angelology.
Minister Brenda Daniel is an ordained minister of
the gospel, a graduate of CCC Ministry Training
institute, and has served as a full-time staff member
of the church for the last 22 years. She trains and
leads teams of missionaries to various countries
around the world. Her genre of ministry includes,
leadership training, ministry training, ministry devel-
opment, ministry and program coordination, confer-
ence guest speaker, (national/international) author,
and instructor. Brenda has been married for 25 years. She and her hus-
band Wayne have two young adult children, Monet and Michael.

I Corinthians 11:3 says,
“But I want you to know
that the head of every man is Christ,
the head of woman is man, and
the head of Christ is God.”
od placed the man as head of the house. That does not
G mean that he is the god of the house, or the lord of the
house. This simply means that, relative to rank, man is
the caretaker and protector of his wife and children.
And, just as God placed Jesus over His children, the Church, as cus-
todian, He has ordained that man be the custodian over the family.
There has been a lot of distorted understanding about that, and a
lot of men are taking undue and unfair advantage of their mates. They
are distorting the idea of being head of the family and making a mock-
ery out of what God intended. They are lording it over their wives and
making them run around like little robots at their commands. Being
head of the house does not mean that at all.
Now, the principle of rank as it pertains to this scripture in I
Corinthians needs some clarification. On the surface what this verse
appears to be saying is that every man is head of every woman—and
some people and some denominations have interpreted this verse that
way. But no way in the world could that be correct. This would mean

that I was over every other man’s
wife, and every other man would
be over my wife! That would
bring confusion and a lot of trou-
ble. And, we know that God is
not the author of confusion.
In order to understand the
principle involved, we need to
understand the context of Paul’s
statement. The principle of rank, as
discussed here is showing God’s divine
order. And, if you are out of God’s divine
order you are courting disaster fast. You are out of
balance, and it will not work for long. It certainly will not work as it is
supposed to work.
You must keep in mind that Corinthians was written to a part of
God’s family living in a place called Corinth in the first century. It is
the first letter we have any record of that the Apostle Paul wrote to the
church established at Corinth. Ultimately, through the inspiration of
the Holy Spirit, the letter was written also for all Christians through-
out all time and history. It is not written to the world (non-Christians),
but to the children of God (born-again Christians).
Another thing to consider is that the letter originally was written
in the Greek language, because that was the common language of
most of the civilized world of that day. In Greek, the same word for
wife is the word for woman. When the Bible was translated into
English the translator made a decision to use the word woman
according to his understanding.
Now we know that all wives are women, but not all women are

wives, hence the discrepancy. When you see that word in the
Bible being used you need to look at the context of the
phrase to determine the correct usage. If you read the
entire 11th chapter of I Corinthians, you will see that
Paul was making a clear comparison between hus-
bands and wives and Christ and the Church. He
was not talking about women as women, but
about women who were wives. It becomes clear
when you read verse 3 this way:

“But I want you to know that

the head of Christ is God.”

God is over all, Jesus is under God, and of

course the Holy Spirit in terms of rank is
under Christ, but here Paul is only using the
examples of God and Jesus. Under Jesus,
God places the husband, under the husband

dren—this is God’s divine order.
The purpose of ranking is to show the
responsibilities of each rank. If you do
not discharge your duty in your rank,

you can mess up a lot of people.
When Paul said a husband ranked over his
wife, he meant that a husband is responsible for his
wife. God is holding us husbands responsible for our wives. We are
responsible for loving them, taking care of them, providing for them,
and protecting them in the domestic environment. This is an impor-
tant point: The husband’s rank is only valid in the natural environ-
ment.
I realize this may be a revolutionary idea to you, but the husband
is not the spiritual head of the wife. A lot of people talk
about the man being the high priest of the family, the
priest of the house, and so forth. However, the hus- A Christian

men do not need a human priest over them, then neither do women!
This point is where a lot of people get into trouble, particularly
Christian women married to non-Christian men. They are told to sub-
mit to their husbands. How can a spiritually alive person submit to a
spiritually dead person? An unsaved husband does not even qualify as
a head. He has no rank as yet, according to God’s order. Think about
it, you mean to tell me that God is going to take His blood-bought,
blood-washed, spirit-filled child and put that child under the domina-
tion of a satanically-inspired, controlled and directed person? You
have to be joking.
The only person who has any business telling a
woman when to read the Bible, when not to read the
Bible, when to go to Church, when not to go to
Church, or whether she can tithe or not is Jesus.

Your husband did not redeem you or die for you;
therefore, he has no right to tell you what to do
spiritually.
A Christian husband does have the responsibility to live as an
example in his home. He is the natural head of the house, and he
ought to act like a leader in terms of being an example to his wife and
children. However, he has no right to force her to submit to him.
The Word of God says in Ephesians 5:21, “submitting to one
another in the fear of God.”
Some time ago, there was a heavy emphasis in
some religious circles on submission. It seems
Christians always have to come up with some new
trend, just as the world does. We have to have a new
hobby, a new fad in spiritual matters. They cannot
just stay on the straight and narrow way. There
always has to be some new thing.
At any rate, there were men and women going
around teaching that women were to submit to their
husbands no matter what he did, who he is, or how he
acts. This idea is so dumb! Do you think God wants
you to submit to the devil? I cannot even believe the
so-called intelligence of some people who call them-
selves Christians. To think that your loving Heavenly
Father would want you to knuckle down to some
beast who would treat his dog better than you. This
is ridiculous.
Men, the Word does not say that you are to love
your wife the way Tarzan loved Jane. It does not say you need to beat
your chest and proclaim that you are “the head of the house.”
I do not recall that I have ever told my wife I was the head of the
house. I have never told my children that. I just live in such a way that
earns respect. I carry myself as the head of the house, I do not proclaim
it. My wife should only submit to me to the extent that I treat her the
way Jesus treats the Church.
If a husband does not treat his wife in a Godly way, she does
not have to submit to him. Some husbands try to compel their wives
to do all sorts of crazy things that are not of God. Proceed with cau-
tion wives, you are not obligated to submit and get involved in
such acts. —EIF

Ephiel answered God’s call to start Logos-Rhema
Ministries in 1982, in the same year he married Elna. Faith

Price, Kenneth E. Hagin, Smith Wigglesworth and oth-
ers were Ephiel’s daily food. This has been and remains his
life and message even to this day.
God transformed the couple’s lives from a life of bare-
ly getting along and from staying in a rented apartment, to
owning their own house. They have been a blessing to
many who have passed through and stayed in their home.

E Ministry hosts the annual Missions Summit where mis-
sionaries rally together from the harvest fields around the
globe. These statesmen and ambassadors of Christ bring
their praise reports, testimonies, field experiences and rev-
elations back to the local church to inform and better equip those
who are praying and sending.
We are living in a time where there are many “natural” and legiti-
mate reasons that would justify why the Body of Christ would once
again internalize or “retreat” from our God-given task of global evan-
gelism. However, for those soldiers, whose passion in life is to live
for what Christ died for, our voices are raised and the blood-stained
banner is yet waved. “The Church Must Not Retreat”—this was the
theme and common thread that weaved through every message at
this year’s Global Summit.
Our week began at the Sunday worship service with a soul-
searching message by a voice from Ghana, West Africa. Rev. Ray
Johnson challenged the Church to take dominion in their everyday
life, with the understanding that whether in our own community or
in a foreign community, we must utilize the authority we have been
given in Jesus’ name. Rev. Johnson and his wife Joycelyn have served
on the mission field in West Africa for more than 20 years.
Representing a week of intermittent thought-provoking
vignettes, Jeroll Rodgers, a captain from our dynamic F.I.R.E.
Team (Faith Igniting Radical Evangelist) brought some sobering
statistics of our young people, particularly of African American
descent. He pointed out the need and opportunity for involvement in
outreach right here in our own Jerusalem (Los Angeles County).
According to Jeroll, the first step toward addressing the need for out-
reach is to give your attention and care for it.
One of the most note-worthy facets of this year’s conference was
the diversity of the guest speakers and their respective assignments:

Dr. Terry Mize - Dr. Terry has more than 30 years in global mis-
sions. He brings a great balance to the church, having one foot in the
sacrifices and hard knocks of pioneering through the transition of
frontier missions, and the other foot in this contemporary generation
of modern conveniences and technology. Because he was instrumen-
tal in the beginning of the church’s exposure and involvement in glob-
al missions, he is affectionately known as the “godfather.”
GLOBAL SUMMIT 2007 NUGGET from Terry Mize:
“We’ve got three missionary calls: A missionary call from hell, a mis-
sionary call from the heathen, and a missionary call from heaven. We,
the Church, need to grab that call, receive that call and be about the
Father’s business! We need prayers, intercessors, financiers, we need
intercessors. We need those who will go to Europe, and those who
go to Africa. Jesus said in the book of Acts that we would receive
power once the Holy Ghost comes upon us. The Church forgot
what all that power was for. It was not just to pray in tongues—pray-
ing in tongues is fine. It was not just to prophesy, it was to be a wit-
ness.”
Pastor Matthew Barnett – Pastor Matthew and his church, The
Dream Center, have a most unique assignment of making disciples
of men through a phenomenal strategy of rehabilitating the poor and
disenfranchised. He has obeyed the call of God to leave the comfort-
able suburban lifestyle to boldly proclaim the Word to loose the
strongholds in Hollywood. As a result, thousands of lives have been
changed by the power of God. The demonstration of strength is evi-
dent through his “in your face,” yet non-threatening posture. His
approach is definitely a drawing card for winning this generation.

retreat.

other areas of endeavors. First, like any great leader, Paul had a clear

not what Christians believe, but the intensity of what they believe. In
the case with Paul, it was to evangelize where Christ was not known.

never received the Macedonia call, and in exactly the same way he fol-
lowed the Holy Spirit into the places where Christ was not known!”

A Solid Foundation
I moved to Los Angeles, California in 1967.
When I moved to LA, I was a carnal Christian.
I was working at Hollywood Park Race Track
as a bartender in different clubs and I was a
heavy gambler.
I heard about Dr. Price in the 1970s; he
was on Crenshaw Blvd. at the time. I went to
the church because some friends took me and
later I joined the church.
His teachings took me from chance to
faith. Dr. Price taught us how to get up every
morning and pray for an hour before we start-
ed our day. I went from praying one hour to
three hours per day. I prayed and listened to
the Word everyday and the Word changed my
life.
I later became a volunteer employee. I did
not get a salary but I paid my tithes and offer-
ings. I had quit all of my jobs and my husband
and I were living off of his one salary.
However, God supernaturally gave me a salary
every week. I would receive money in the mail,
people would bless me and for a full year I
received a salary supernaturally. The following
year I was hired as a regular employee and I
kept paying my tithes and offerings according
to God’s Word and Dr. Price’s teaching,
“Higher Finance.”
Working for Crenshaw Christian Center
and the things I learned there is the foundation
of my ministry today. Dr. Price, you taught me
to walk by faith in the spirit of excellence and in
prosperity. You are truly my father in the
Word.

Opening Our
Understanding
Sometime in 1993-1994, my husband and I
were discussing the things that were happen-
ing in the world. We had a lot of questions and
Dick commented that if God wanted us to
know His will, why did He make it so hard for
us to understand?
God directed us to the EIFM broadcast
and in that first teaching, Dr. Price scriptural-
ly answered EVERY question we had and we
were hooked. From then on, we taped the
broadcasts and watched them when we got
home from breakfast.

We ordered Dr. Price’s teachings, “How
Faith Works,” his book on finance, the EIFM
Bible and other materials. Dick signed up for
the Correspondence School. We learned that
we had to tithe or be cursed. We began to
tithe to EIFM since we did not have a church
home. Being blessed weekly, we grew and
began to “walk by faith, not by sight.”
During 1996, God did some wonderful
things, tying up loose ends and preparing me
for Dick’s death in September. When Dick
died I didn’t know what to do, but the Lord
directed me to call EIFM.
My family and I were ministered to. In fact,
the pastor came to Arizona to officiate over
Dick’s funeral service and brought us much
comfort. My youngest son and others received
Jesus that day.
In late 1998, I was ready to be a helpmate
again. I made a specific list of what I wanted
in my husband and prayed. In November
1999, God sent Jerry to our church from
Michigan. Jerry and I fit perfectly and married
in April 2000.
In June 2003, Jerry was in a serious motor-
cycle accident. He is here today because of
prayer and God’s goodness. We are still wait-
ing and expecting the manifestation of his total
healing.
Thank you Dr. Price, we appreciate you
and your ministry.

Trusting GOD Through
Tough Times
Drs. Fred and Betty, and Pastor Fred,
have influenced me tremendously.
Yes, I have had challenges since being a
member of CCC, but truthfully the Word has
saved my life. The “faith message” has helped
me face death, sickness and financial troubles.
There was a time when my grandson was
in a hospital in Fresno, while my daughter was
in another hospital in Los Angeles with cancer
of the throat. My Dad had a heart attack,
while my mother got news from her doctor
that she had liver cancer. My granddaughter
was in a car accident, there were break-ins,
thefts and problems in the work-place. I know
that in all things the real cure is Jesus.
The tough times taught me to be patient
and trust God because I didn’t know whether
I was coming or going. I admit I almost gave
up, but through it all I found my direction by
using faith. I applied Dr. Price’s faith teach-
ings from the Bible and it worked—it truly
works. In the natural you become frustrated,
angry and annoyed by all the negative things
that are happening around you, but you have
to remind yourself that God helps you to have
control and that you must stay focused on the
Word of God.
Looking back, I was a mess ready to hap-
pen. But with the study of the Word and learn-
ing how to apply the correct prayer to the mat-
ter, I have become a conqueror. Dr. Price and
family I thank you for correcting me in many
areas of my life. I appreciate Jesus and you for
training and teaching us how to apply the
Word of Faith.

The Truth About
Prostate
Cancer

rostate cancer is the most common type
P of cancer found in American men, other
than skin cancer. One in 6 men will be
diagnosed with prostate cancer. More
than 234,000 men in the United States will be diag-
nosed with prostate cancer this year, and each and
every one of them will need to make very personal
and individualized decisions about treatment
options, diet and lifestyle changes.
The older you are, the more likely you are to be
diagnosed with prostate cancer, although only 1 in
10,000 under age 40 will be diagnosed. The rate
shoots up to 1 in 38 for ages 40 to 59, and 1 in 14 for
ages 60 to 69. Prostate cancer is the third leading
cause of cancer death in men after lung cancer and
colorectal cancer. African-American men are 70%
more likely to develop prostate cancer compared
with Caucasian men and nearly 2.5 times as likely to
die from the disease.
The prostate is a gland in the male reproductive
system that makes and stores a component of
semen: it’s located near the bladder and rectum. The
prostate surrounds part of the urethra, the tube that
empties urine from the bladder. A healthy prostate is
about the size of a walnut. If the prostate grows too
large, the flow of urine can be slowed or stopped.
The main function of the prostate is to add impor-
tant fluids to semen, the liquid a man produces
when he ejaculates. The male hormones (andro-
gens) make the prostate grow. The testicles are the
main source of male hormones, including testos-
terone. The adrenal gland also makes testosterone,
but in small amounts.
Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) develops
when the number of cells within the prostate begins
to grow, causing the gland itself to become larger
and presses against the urethra interfering with the
urine flow. BPH is a common problem. In the U.S.
most men over 50 have BPH.
There are three common problems associated with
the prostate:
An infected prostate/ or Prostatitis – usually
starts in some other part of the body and travels to
the prostate. The infection will swell and block
the flow of urine through the urethra.
An enlarged prostate - is normally caused by a
reduced production of the major male hormone
(Testosterone) which begins to decline after the
age of 40.
Growths or cancerous – also enlarge the prostate
due to the fast multiplication of abnormal cells.
When cell growths occur in the prostate, the body
responds by producing PSA (prostate specific
antigen), if the PSA is high, it almost always indi-
cates that the cell growth is cancerous.

Symptoms of Prostate disease:
•The need to urinate frequently, especially at
night
•Inability to urinate; weak or interrupted flow of
urine
•Difficulty starting urination or holding back
urine
•Blood in urine
•Painful ejaculation
•Frequent pain or stiffness in the lower back, hip
or upper thighs
How is prostate cancer detected?
Screening for prostate cancer can be performed
in a physician’s office using two tests: the (prostate-
specific antigen) blood test and digital rectal exam
(DRE).
The American Cancer Society recommends
that both the PSA and DRE should be offered
beginning at age 50. Men at high risk, such as
African-American men and men with a family histo-
ry of this cancer, should begin testing at age 45.
How can prostate cancer be treated?
Because most prostate cancer grows very slow-
ly, some men have no symptoms and are not treated
at all. Most doctors agree that one should be
checked regularly for symptoms for the rest of their
lives. When treatment is necessary, it usually
involves surgery or radiation to remove or destroy
the cancer. Your treatment will depend on what
kind of cancer cells you have, how far they have
spread, your age, general health and your prefer-
ences. About 90% of prostate cancers are found in
the early stages, where the 5-year survival rate is
almost 100%. Both surgery and radiation may cause
impotence, which means not being able to have an
erection. Nerves that help control a man’s ability to
have an erection may be removed or damaged dur-
ing surgery because they are right next to the
prostate and the cancer may have spread to them.
What causes Prostate Cancer?
The exact cause of prostate cancer is unknown.
What is known about the disease is that it begins
with a group of cancerous cells (a tumor within the
prostate). The growth and function of the normal
prostate gland is dependent on the hormone testos-
terone.
Researchers agree that one major potential
cause is the majority of American meals are over-
cooked or processed. The processing of food
destroys a good portion of the nutrients used by the
prostate gland; one being zinc, which is not normal-
ly replaced in the soil when chemical fertilizers are
used. Some 90% of the population consumes diets
deficient in Zinc. The prostate uses 10 times more of
this nutrient than any other organ in the body.
Cancer in any part of the body basically is “cells
that have gone crazy.” These “deranged” cells begin
multiplying and become a mass or a tumor. These
tumors can be benign (noncancerous) or malignant
(cancerous). When cell growth occurs in the
prostate, the body responds by producing PSA
(prostate specific antigen). If the PSA is high, it
almost always indicates that the cell growth is can-
cerous. Neither of the screening tests for prostate
cancer is perfect. Most men with mildly elevated
PSA levels do not have prostate cancer, and many
men with prostate cancer have normal levels of
PSA.
Risk Factors:
Doctors cannot explain why one man develops
prostate cancer and another does not. However,
they do know that prostate cancer is not contagious;
you cannot “catch” it from another person.
STUDIES HAVE FOUND THE FOLLOWING RISK FACTORS
FOR PROSTATE CANCER:
Age: Age is the main risk factor for prostate can-
cer. This disease is rare in men younger than 45.
Family history: A man’s risk is higher if his father
or brother had prostate cancer.
Race/or Ethnic background: Prostate cancer is
more common in African-American men than in
white, including Hispanic white men. It is less com-
mon in Asian and American Indian men.
Diet: Some studies suggest that men who eat a
high diet in animal fat or meat may be more at risk.
Scientists have also studied whether BPH,
(Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia), obesity, smoking,
lack of exercise increase the risk for prostate cancer.
Prevention/Treatment
The Word of God tells us to use wisdom, which
means we should get regular check-ups. Many “men
of God” do not get regular check-ups because of
fear, distrust, and or pride. As Believers we can
stand on God’s Word for our healing (Isaiah 53:4-5,
Matthew 8:17, I Peter 2:24). We know that the
Word says that we are destroyed because of a lack of
knowledge (Hosea 4:6). We can stand in a preven-
tive mode and confess Isaiah 54:17 and Psalms 91:10;
we also see that in II Corinthians 2:11 that Satan will
take advantage of us if we are ignorant of his devices.
From a Natural Standpoint:
There are things we can do in the natural that
will enable us to have a strong healthy prostate.
Avoid sugar, processed foods, sodas, spicy
foods.
Eat fresh, organic fruits and vegetables as much
as possible.
Cut back on saturated fat, cut back on dairy
products.
Increase vitamin E, C, Beta carotene, Zinc,
Shark Cartilage and Ginseng.
There are far too many who believe that they are
healthy unless they feel sick. This misconception can
have serious repercussions. Each year approximate-
ly 28,000 men lose their life to prostate cancer. In the
majority of cases, prostate cancer tends to take its
time, growing slowly but persistently over the years.
Learning how to stay ahead of how the disease pro-
gresses and how to address its major symptoms over

The Beginning
of Wisdom

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Proverbs 9:10
A man came upon some bricklayers and asked one, “What are you building?”
“A wall,” the bricklayer wearily replied. Then the man asked a second bricklayer, “What are you building?”
The bricklayer stood strong, pointed to his growing wall of bricks, and announced proudly, “I’m building a cathedral.”
It’s all in the perspective. And perspective is important. As we raise our children, we might well ask ourselves, “What am I
building?” Adding clarity to our goals may give us a heavenly perspective.

Imagine building an army of God-fear-
ers! Through God’s Word, we teach our chil-
dren the reverential fear of God. To fear God
does not mean to be afraid of Him, or to have
a sense of dread or terror that results from
intimidation. To fear God means to respect
Him. An army of God-fearers—children who
respect God—is an awesome goal. And we
are building such an army, one family at a
time. Respect or reverence for God is rooted
in love and key to obedience. God’s great ini-
tiative to love us inspires us to love Him
back.
BIBLICAL INTEGRATION
As the guardians of our homes, it is our
duty to impress upon our children the truths
of God’s Word. We accomplish this not by
quoting Scripture all the time, but by flesh-
ing out its principles. It’s called biblical inte-
gration. We think Christian; therefore we
live Christian. God’s truth is experienced
and evident in our lives.
Whether or not we realize it, we are
teaching our children all of the time—actions
do speak louder than words—so it is impor-
tant for us to model Christ. For our children,
the reality of what it means to be a Christian
becomes so real that the imprint of Christ is
etched in their character.
When reverential fear is the controlling
motive of their lives, our children will have a
wholesome dread of hurting God’s feelings,
of letting Him down. This is the fear of the
Lord, and it is the beginning of the process
of becoming wise, of rightly applying what
they know.
The process is the same for all of us.
When we apply what we know about God to
our lives and actually do what the Bible says,
we experience “aha” moments of understand-
ing and exclaim, “Oh! Now I get it!” We
learn to respect God, therefore we teach our
children to respect Him too.
We become wise by studying His Word.
Then we teach His Word to our children so
that His Word hidden in their hearts will
keep them pure and help them make right
decisions.
“How can a young man keep his way
pure? By living according to your word. I
seek you with all my heart; do not let me
stray from your commands. I have hidden
your word in my heart that I might not sin
against you.” (Psalm 119:9-11)
TEACHING OUR CHILDREN
It is amazing how many parents give
their children Bibles, march them up to
Children’s Church and hand them over to
the teacher as if to say, “You teach him.” This
is backwards. Parents are the primary teach-
ers and therefore must know the Bible well
enough to teach it. What children learn at
church should reinforce what they’ve already
learned at home. Christian education begins
at home.
Granted, it’s true that parents must be
creative. I had a rude awakening the day I
tried to have Bible study with my daughter.
She whined, stomped her feet, and said,
“Noooo!” I persisted anyway, but it didn’t
take long to see that all she was waiting for
was our time in the Word to be over.
I’ve known families who had devotions
together. Some dear friends of mine discov-
ered that their daughter was gifted when at
three years old she had memorized and could
recite an entire chapter verbatim that her
father had read to her the night before. Why
wasn’t this working for me? The only result I
could see was that my daughter, La Nej,
resented the very thought of a formal Bible
study. She would rather talk than read. But
how would she ever really know God?
The Deuteronomy 6:7 passage came to
mind. I had to “talk” to her when we sat at
home, walked along the road, lied down and
got up. I had to capitalize on our time
together. And I had to be a living example of
God’s Word. Telling her Bible accounts
(“This reminds me of David and Goliath . . .”
and “That’s similar to what happened in the

book of Esther . . .”), using every teachable
moment, and modeling Christ replaced my
attempts at formal Bible study.
Here’s one example. One day La Nej
was grounded, but a certain store was having
a sale, and I wanted to go shopping. Since I
couldn’t leave her home alone, I cautioned
that although she was going with me, I
would be the only one shopping. We went
into the mall, and I headed for the store’s sale
rack. My daughter also headed for the sale
rack. She found a sunflower yellow dress
sprinkled with daises. She tried it on. It fit
beautifully. I pretended to ignore her until
she asked me to buy the dress for her. Here
was a teachable moment.
“What is the definition of mercy?” I
asked. She looked blank. “Mercy is when
God doesn’t give us what we do deserve,” I
explained. I asked her to repeat this defini-
tion, explaining that when she deserved a
spanking but didn’t get one, that was mercy.
“What is the definition of grace?” Again I
was met with a blank stare. “Grace is when
God does give us what we don’t deserve.” I
asked her to repeat this definition.
“The Lord Jesus Christ gives us salva-
tion. We can’t earn it, and we certainly don’t

deserve it. I am going to buy you this dress
even though you don’t deserve it. Every time
you put it on, I hope it reminds you of God’s
grace to all of us.”
BEING ROLE MODELS
Parents also teach their most powerful
lessons by what they do. Here’s another
example. During my daughter’s elementary
school years, lights were out at 9:00 p.m.,
and I rose at 5:00 a.m. for an hour’s study
with a cup of coffee.
One morning I slept late, until 5:30 or so.
When I went to my usual spot at the kitchen
table, there La Nej was, sitting in my seat
and reading her Bible with a cup of tea! She
flashed a big smile that said, “I’m just like
Mommy.” She continues to read her Bible to
this day and she has matured into a true stu-
dent of the Word.
In addition to wise habits at home, it’s
also vital that parents engage their children
in Children’s Church and weekly Bible
study. Why give children the option of going
or not going to class on Sunday? Statements
such as “He doesn’t feel like it” or “She wants
to sit with me in church” leave me wondering
whether these same children make such deci-

sions about going to school during the week.
If they don’t have the option Monday
through Friday, why give it to them on
Sunday?
Remember…you are responsible for set-
ting the standard! Keep this goal in mind—
of raising God-fearers who are wise because
of the Word of God. Then do everything in
your power, beginning with living holy
before your kids, so that your children grow
in the wisdom and knowledge of our Lord
and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I
t’s that time again. In my last column, you were exposed to
the truth and welcomed into the resistance. Now it’s time to
deal with the enemy on his territory. As Christians it is our
job to represent Christ in everything we do. As Christian
teenagers it’s more important now, than ever, to rep for
Christ because the devil has designed this world’s system to
target you with the hope of ensnaring you in its many traps.
There are some things in this world that are directly evil. On the flip
side, there are some things in this world that are harmless in their origin how-
ever, they can be used for good or evil. In this column we will discuss one of
those things that are indeed harmless in its origin, but right now is being used
for both good and evil. What is be the problem, you may ask? The problem is
that young people that claim to be children of God are using this “thing” for
negative purposes and fulfillment. Allow me, parents and teens, to talk with
you on the relevant subject of MySpace.
MySpace is an online community where you can display your pictures, per-
sonal profile, music, videos and blogs. Friendships and/or relationships,
whether business or personal, and even intimate connections such as dates and
sexual encounters have been made on this website. There have even been
unfortunate accounts of online predators preying on women and young
teens—male or female. Even with all of that, according to Alexa Internet,
MySpace is currently the world’s fourth most popular English-language web-
site, the sixth most popular website in any language and the third most popu-
lar website in the United States, and there are various times when it has topped
the charts. Alexa Internet goes on to say that the service has gradually gained
more popularity than similar websites to achieve nearly 80% of visits to online
social networking websites.
Wow! I wonder if founders Tom Anderson and Chris DeWolfe are rich?
According to Forbes.com, media giant News Corp. picked up MySpace for
$629 million while MySpace itself secured a $900 million dollar “search” deal
with Google. They are indeed BALLIN’! These guys are wealthy for a multi-
tude of reasons. But they knew from the beginning that teens just like you
would join up and spread the word around like a virus. This website is one big
ad pool. You have your own space and you can create your own page which is
advertisement and promotion on the Web. The concept is brilliant. Not
everyone can afford their own website, and there are even churches and min-
istries that advertise on MySpace. MySpace, like the internet, could be harm-
less because it simply displays what you put on it. My niece Adrian, for exam-
ple, has promoted her make-up business on MySpace.
With that, I feel I have to deal with some negative aspects of the site. When
I’m done with this you may get upset with me, but I have to place my care for
your lives above my care for your feelings. I’ve seen some things on MySpace
that are uncalled for and like I said, I’m dealing with this because we call
ourselves Christians having willfully accepted Jesus into our hearts.
Therefore we should embrace Jesus. You cannot profess to know
Christ and conduct yourself as a child of Satan. The Bible
says in Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he
should go, and when he gets old he will not depart
from it.” It’s the training, rebuking, chas-
tening, reproving and admonish-
ing of the Lord.

Some of the things I’ve seen on the MySpace pages are totally
filthy. Parents, you need to check out what your kids are doing and
placing on this website—even if they don’t want you to. When I
was a teen there were times when I didn’t like my parents. They
disciplined me and took some things away from me that turned out
to be for my own good. Thank God! They got into my business
because there were times when I could have been headed in the
wrong direction. I encourage the parents to check up on every-
thing their children are involved in (websites, music—all of it).
I recall when my parents said there were movies I couldn’t see. Because
they said I couldn’t see it, I didn’t violate what they said. Ephesians 6:1-3 says,
“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father
and mother, which is the first commandment with promise: that it may be well
with you and you may live long on the earth.” I’ve personally had some young
people tell me about having inappropriate remarks left on their page. That tells
me the kids today don’t have a fear of God and those in authority. They need
to have that healthy fear.
I was afraid of my dad. Dad could show up when I was doing wrong and
I’d get to shivering. It wasn’t a binding fear, but a healthy fear and reverence.
Psalm 112:1 says, “Praise the Lord, Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who
delights greatly in His commandments.” To this day, even though I’m taller
and weigh more than my dad, I’m still scared of him—meaning I respect him.
I fear him like I fear God. I want to do whatever he says to the best of my abil-
ity.
If I did decide I was going to do something wrong (because the bottom
line is that no one made me do wrong), my goal was not to get caught! If I got
caught I would have to pay the consequences for doing wrong, but I didn’t do
wrong hoping to get caught for the world to see. So when I see these
MySpace pages, I’m thinking “This is the WORLDWIDE WEB, what are
you thinking???” Don’t you know somebody may see this? There are cuss
words and other filthy items. I know if I found this page, anyone else could as
well. What if Dr. Price decides to go to the website? You must understand
there will be consequences.
Then on top of all the filthiness, they want to rep their church and Jesus
Christ, when nothing else on the page represents anything regarding God’s
Word. I’m bringing this up so that you (young people) won’t have to discuss
this with your Pastor or THE PASTOR, Jesus Christ.
This generation is bold, but they need to switch directions. They need to
have a zeal for God like they do for the things of the world. I often wonder if
young people are afraid to step out and be bold Christians. Young people you
need to know that the world is watching. You’re representing CCC and
Dr. Price doesn’t teach that. Sadly, people are always looking for ways
to bring down the ministry. And this goes for any young people rep-
resenting any pastor and ministry. This has to stop. You have got
to change that. You can cut it off right now, repent, and go
in the direction of holiness. The Bible says in Matthew
5:14 that we are the light of the world therefore it’s
time to let that bright light shine. I say this

their Savior and Lord to be forever lost even though they were once saved? —Sharon Eckert
Salvation is a gift made available as a result
of God the Father giving the world His Son
Jesus and Jesus offering His life for the salva-
tion of mankind. As a result of that act, salva-
tion is made available to anyone willing to con-
fess, believe and receive Him as Lord and
Savior of their life. Salvation is not received
based on the many good deeds we do, for there
aren’t enough good deeds we can do to receive
it. It is by the grace of God that we are recon-
ciled back to God—outside of that mankind is
destined for hell. Since good deeds aren’t the
basis for receiving our salvation, bad deeds
aren’t the basis for losing it. A
number of minis-
ters say a per-
son can’t lose
their salvation
because it is
impossible for
us to lose some-
thing we
never deserved in the first place.
The sin unto death is not about a person los-
ing their salvation; it’s about that person willful-
ly giving their salvation back. The type of per-
son who no longer wants to be saved and will-
fully gives Jesus back to God is found in
Hebrews 6:4-6. It says, “For it is impossible for
those who were once enlightened, and have
tasted the heavenly gift, and have become par-
takers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the
good word of God and the powers of the age to
come, if they fall away, to renew them again to
repentance, since they crucify again for them-
selves the Son of God, and put Him to an open
shame.” The person who has experienced the
goodness of God, been enlightened with the
Word and experienced the Holy Spirit knows
without a shadow of a doubt that God, Jesus,
the Holy Spirit, and everything associated with
the Kingdom of God is real. If that person gives
their Lord and Savior back to God and tells
Him I want nothing to do with You or Jesus,
the Scripture says it’s impossible for that person
to come back. Why is it impossible? Because
they crucify, or get rid of the only Mediator
between man and God—Jesus. Once you do
that there’s no other way to the Father.
In Hebrews 10:26 we’re given another
example of this, but to understand it we must
keep it in the proper context. Yes, every sin I
commit would be willful and be covered under
1 John 1:9. However, Hebrews 10:26 is specifi-
cally speaking to Jews who were practicing
Judaism, converted to Christianity, and then
began to go back to the ways of Judaism. In this
context “the knowledge of the truth” is the
knowledge of the truth of the Messiah. The
willful sin is going back to the ways of Judaism
after having received the knowledge of the truth
of Christ. If they do that, then there no longer
would remain a sacrifice for sin because the only
sacrifice for sin is the Lamb of God. Doing that
would be counting His blood as a common
thing and insulting the Spirit of grace.
