Rep. Dovilla Announces Passage of Ohio Manufacturing Month

COLUMBUSState Representative Mike Dovilla (R-Berea) announced the Ohio Senate passed, by a vote of 33-0, House Bill 77, which designates the month of October as Manufacturing Month in the State of Ohio. It is critically important our state provide manufacturers with the ability to highlight their role in Ohios continued economic recovery to attract more advanced manufacturing businesses and encourage more start-ups, said Dovilla. I am grateful of the support WIRE-Net, the Manufacturing Advocacy & Growth Network, the Dayton Region Manufacturers Association, and the Coalition for a Prosperous America provided. After convening a series of meetings with the manufacturing community and trade representatives throughout 2011 and 2012, a manufacturing roundtable sponsored by WIRE-Net provided the impetus for this legislation. The manufacturing sector in Ohio accounts for more than 600,000 jobs and annually produces $80 billion worth of goods. House Bill 77 will now be sent to the governor for his signature. -30-
