Since December, dozens of Potrero Hill residents (between 30 and 70 neighbors at every meeting so far) have been working to come up with a stronger, more responsive, and more thorough community-based planning process. These workshops were convened by the Boosters, the Dogpatch Neighborhood Association, the Potrero Hill Association of Merchants and Businesses, and Save Potrero as a way to improve the long-term rezoning process that has taken the Citys Planning Department most of this decade to develop.

Presidents Message
The Annual Booster Dinner: May 29, NEW LOCATION! UCSF Mission Bay Conference Center

Here is a full roster of Plan Potrero Hill meetings through August 2007. Weve added Wednesday night meetings once a month, by popular demand.

Come to one, come to a few, come to all. Your input is critical.

The annual Booster Dinner, the most social Booster meeting of the year, was all set to return to the California Culinary Academy . . . until the Academy closed its banquet services at 350 Rhode Island Street and cancelled our contract. (Yes, we are cranky about that, and very disappointed in the Academy.) But, thanks in part to some quick and diligent work by Audrey Cole of the Boosters and Barbara Bagot-Lopez of UCSF Community Relations, it looks like the Booster Dinner is still on Tuesday night, May 29 at 5:30 pm, at the UCSF Mission Bay Conference Center. Many thanks to everyone at UCSF for taking us on very short notice; we are still working out the details and menu for the evening. For the latest news, check the Boosters website,
www.potreroboosters.org.

You can get info on prior meetings, stay up to date, and participate too, by going to: www.planpotrerohillsf.org. All meetings are at the Potrero Hill Neighborhood House. Saturday meetings are 9.30am til noon. Wednesday meetings are 6.30 til 9.00pm.

The Planning Unit of the Citys Recreation and Park Department will join us at Tuesdays Boosters meeting: As part of the City of San Francisco's 10-Year Capital Plan, the Recreation and Park Department is preparing a Parks and Open Space General Obligation Bond for the June 2008 ballot to address the significant capital needs of the over 200 parks in the City's park system. Over the last year, the Department has developed a new capital needs inventory of the system's physical needs, allowing for the systematic evaluation of the capital needs in all our parks. We would like to discuss these results, what they tell us about the needs of our parks and the 2008 Parks and Open Space Bond.

At our next meeting: a Rec & Park bond on the June 2008 ballot
