Rep. Dovilla Applauds Passage of Keystone Pipeline Resolution

COLUMBUSState Representative Mike Dovilla (R-Berea) today applauded the passage of Senate Concurrent Resolution 7 by the Ohio House of Representatives. The resolution urges the United States Department of State to approve the permit application necessary to allow construction and operation of the TransCanada Keystone XL Pipeline that runs between the U.S. and Canada. The resolution was a joint effort between Senator Cliff Hite (R-Findlay) and Representative John Adams (R-Sidney). Rep. Dovilla, Chairman of the Policy and Legislative Oversight Committee, which held multiple hearings, on these resolutions released the following statement regarding its passage: Both the Ohio House and Senate voted in an overwhelmingly bipartisan manner to tell Washington it is time to quit playing politics with jobs and national security. By moving ahead with construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline, the American people will realize the opportunity to create thousands of construction, manufacturing, and service jobs, while decreasing our dependence on oil from unstable nations that work actively against our best interests. It is time for President Obama and his administration to approve this pipeline. Senate Concurrent Resolution 7 will now be transmitted to the president of the United States, Congressional leadership, U.S. secretary of state, and members of Ohios Congressional delegation.
