c. That you have been issued a valid visa and Student Pass by the Malaysian Immigration
Authorities (Please refer to Annex V for details).
3. This offer is valid for ONE semester only. The iast date for registration is 18 September 2014 for
coursework / mixed mode / English course student.
4. The University DOES NOT provide any on-campus FAMILY accommodation for students. Students
who wish to apply for TWIN-SHARING on-campus accommodation have to fill in an application form

5. Terms and conditions of this offer and the tuition fees are stated in Annex I and Annex IV with an
additional RM 2,000.00 as a Personal Bond to be paid in full during registration and refundable upon
completion of study provided that all required payments have been made to the university.

1. All information given in the application form is deemed true. If there is any false declaration for gaining
entry to UTM, the University reserves the rights to withdraw this offer at any time.
2. a) You are required to undergo a compulsory medical check up in Malaysia (arranged by the University)
and you must be certified as being in good health and free from any contagious/infectious disease or
illness that will adversely affect your study. International students from the yellow fever endemic areas
without a valid immunisation certificate will be immediately quarantined on arrival for 6 days excluding

ANNEX IIl
UTM ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
All international students applying to UTM must have a valid TOEFL or IELTS certificate of not more than two
years old upon the day of registration. Only Students with a TOEFL score of 550 (PBT) (79 IBT) or an
IELTS Band 6 can register into a programme.
Students from the list of countries given exemption can enroll in a faculty programme. (Refer to list of countries
given exemption at www.sps.utm.my).
Starting from Semester 11 2010/2011, students who applied for Master or Phd programme - Teaching English as
a Second Language (TESL), must have a valid two-year TOEFL certificate with a score of 600 or above (PBT)
(or IBTICBT equivalent) or IELTS Band 7 or above.
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia will not provide any language courses to students that come for registration
without a valid TOEFL score or IELTS certificate of not more than two years old upon the day of registration.

ANNEX V (i)
INFORMATION FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

IMMIGRATION RULES AND PROCEDURES OF MALAYSIA
1. Depending on your country of origin, all students are advised to apply for VDR (Visa Referral Letter) through UTM
SC after which you may go to the Malaysia Embassy in your country to obtain the Multiple Entry Visa (MEV) Email all
required documents to iscvdr@utm.my -refer Annex V (ii).
2. To avoid your goodself from overstaying and be charged the maximum compound by the Immigration Department of
Malaysia, you are hereby, strongly advised to enter Malaysia one week before registration date. This is to allow 7
working days for UTM to prepare the documentation for student pass application, issuance of insurance policy and
stamping of bondage; while students pass issuance at the Immigration Department will take 14 working days.
3. Compound for overstaying is counted at RM 30/day or RM 1, 100/month or any other penalty imposed by the
Immigration Department of Malaysia.
4. Accommodation is will only be provided from the date of reception (Refer to the UTM ISO website for hostel
arrangement). Upon arrival seek ISO advice on your visa status. Students who arrived after office hours (5:00 pm) or
on Malaysian public holiday are advised to find own accommodation.
5. Married students are advised to enter the Country as single prior to issuance of student pass. Dependent pass can
only be applied after student pass is approved and issued.
6. On approval of student pass, student can apply VOR letter for their family members to enter the country.

IPERSONAL BOND CLAIMING PROCEDURES
1. All students studying in Malaysia are required to pay a Personal Bond to the Immigration Department of
Malaysia through the respective University upon registration as required by the Immigration Law of Malaysia.
2. This bond is to ensure that you comply with the Immigration Law of Malaysia throughout your stay in Malaysia.
I3. You may claim your Personal Bond after you have cancelled your Student Pass.
4. Any expired pass will not be entertained and bond will be forfeited.

Penalty of overstaying in Malaysia is RM 30.00 per day or RM 1100.00 per month or any penalty as charged by
the Malaysia Immigration Authority upon trial.
