HEKS-EPER

is the aid organisation of the Protestant Churches of Switzerland and has its headquar-
ters in Zurich/Switzerland. HEKS-EPER provides humanitarian and emergency aid and tackles the
causes of hunger, injustice and social deprivation both in Switzerland and abroad. HEKS-EPER has its
own coordination offices in approximately 20 key countries and around 200 projects worldwide.
HEKS-EPER is a member of the ACT Alliance.

HEKS-EPER works in favour of the rural communities in the GrandAnse with the aim of developing
solid value chains projects especially in coffee, cocoa and fruits production. In addition, HEKS-EPER
implements infrastructure reconstruction / rehabilitation projects (schools and rural roads).
HEKS-EPER implements its projects through its national partner organisations as well as directly.

For our Haiti programme based, HEKS-EPER is looking for a strong candidate as per
November 2013 to fulfil the role of:

HEKS-EPER Country Director based in Jrmie (100%)
The mandate:

Supervise and monitor the full HEKS-EPER programme in Haiti and the projects of our national
partner organisations
Steering, strategic development and supervision of the agricultural and reconstruction projects
in the GrandAnse
Supervise the administration and finances of the Coordination Office as well as of the partner or-
ganisations in collaboration with our Head of Administration and Finances
Represent HEKS-EPER towards authorities and the various stakeholders within the humanitarian
and development aid platforms
Propose strategies for the capacity building of our national partner organisations in charge of the
implementation of the projects
Ensure a good collaboration within and between teams (national and expatriate)
Coordinate and handle all administrative matters of the national staff
Ensure the quality of the projects reports and their timely delivery to the HQ and the donors
Support the HQ in terms of fundraising


Qualifications:

University degree in a related field


Minimum six years experience in management - administration - monitoring of development and
humanitarian aid projects
Minimum six years experience abroad in humanitarian contexts
Sound knowledge of administrative, finance and HR
Ability to work both independently and within teams, excellent facilitation skills, sensitivity for
gender & social equity and local culture
Language skills: excellent written and oral proficiency in French, good knowledge in English
Previous work experience in Haiti will be considered as an asset
