Mr. Ronald Foley, LI Regional Director

NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation
625 Belmont Avenue
West Babylon, New York 11704

Dear Mr. Foley:

I-ast night, dozens of individuals met at the Kings Park American Legion to express their
ongoing frustration and dissatisfaction with the current position of New York State Parks to keep
Nissequogue River State Park closed until a budget is adopted - in particular the Kings Park
Marina.

While the budget stalemate presents difficult decisions for our State in both the shorl and
long-term, park facilities remain an essential component of recreational relief for all New
Yorkers, as well as a significant source of revenue for state coffers.

Given the fact that summer is fast approaching and warrn weather is already upon us, we
should be taking every step possible to maximize the use of our state parks and their ability to
generate revenue. Therefore, we respectfully ask that you reconsider opening all state park
facilities slated for closure in the Long Island region, and specifically the Kings Park Marina.

Thank you as always f,or your consideration and attention to this important matter.

Sincerely,

tJ
