- 07 2350 EDT Oct: Magnitude 7.6 Earthquake struck in


Kashmir
- 27 Aftershocks of magnitude 5.0 and greater
- Epicenter:
- near Muzaffarabad, Pakistani Kashmir's capital
- 75 mi NNE of Islamabad, Pakistani capital
- 320 mi E of Bagram Airfield, nearest major US base
- Pakistan: E 61,000 casualties (USAID)
- =33,200 deaths
- 4 million displaced
- 250,000 in need of shelter
- India: 927 deaths (USAID)

Wednesday, 12 Oct

- C E N T X U designates CFC-A as the lead for humanitarian


effort in Pakistan, Expeditionary Strike Group One, as
the Disaster Assistance Center, is under the operational
control of CFC-A. NAVCENT retains administrative
control.
- U-2 11+30 hr ISR flight (delayed from 11 Oct due to cloud
cover)
- 2 x C-17 with humanitarian supplies (water, MRE, tents,
and cots) arrives in Islamabad from Kuwait (120012Z
Octl ,
- In next 24 hrs 30 pallets of supplies < tents, cots,
Halal meals, and blankets) will be sent from Kuwait
