Your task:
To write an essay explaining the following:
1. Proper nutrition.
2. Why proper nutrition is important.
3. How specifically your Heart/Cardiovascular system is affected by
poor nutrition.

Your Essay must meet (and will be assessed on) the following guidelines:
1. Be a minimum of 500 words in length.
2. Must NOT have any part of it ‘COPY-and-PASTED’ from a website.
The essay must be in your own words. You may paraphrase.
3. Any information which is paraphrased from a website must be
cited in a ‘Footnote’.
a. Mr. Wilcox will demonstrate how to insert footnotes using
google docs.
4. Must demonstrate understanding of each of the items listed in
“Your Task”
5. Your essay should use appropriate vocabulary and grammar for 6th
grade science.
6. You need to submit the URL to your essay using the following

How your learning from the essay will be assessed:

1. After you have submitted your essay, you will be asked to re-write a
similar essay by-hand without the use of notes, or aid of a computer.
