Final Product: In your composition book,

you will create a laboratory report which has
each of the following sections:

Title:
An appropriate title for your laboratory.

Problem:
Your problem sentence should indicate the
independent and dependent variables being tested.

Hypothesis:
Your hypothesis must be written as an IF...THEN..
statement.
Identification of Variables:
The independent, dependent and significant controlled
variables need to be clearly identified. The dependent
variable must be something that can be measured
QUANTITATIVELY.

Procedure:
The procedure must be written in a stepwise
(1.,2.,3.,etc.) format. Each step must be clear and
precise.

Data:
A data table must be present which is well organized
and neat. It must contain enough data to make a
reasonable conclusion about the relationship between
the independent and dependent variable.

Analysis:
A graph must be created and clearly labeled.

Conclusion:
Your conclusion needs to be in paragraph format, and
include the following three parts:
-Restate the problem
-Restate the hypothesis
-State your conclusion and HOW your data supports
your conclusion.

Today: With your lab partner, you will create

a ROUGH DRAFT of the following sections of
the laboratory report:
1. Problem
2. Hypothesis
3. Identification of Variables
4. Procedure
5. Data Table
Today's Goal: Create a rough draft (NOT IN YOUR COMPOSITION BOOK!!) of each
section. Start with the first ( Problem ), and then have it approved by Mr. Wilcox
before moving on to the next section. Each section must be approved by Mr.
Wilcox BEFORE moving on to the next section.
