Concept Mapping

Human Body

Task:

Your task today is to create a hand-drawn concept map for knowledge of the human body.

Steps:

1. Brainstorm all of your knowledge of the human body.


2. Categorize your knowledge
3. Final Draft
a. On an sheet of blank white, unlined paper, create your concept map.
b. Write your name SMALL, in PENCIL, in the top right-hand corner of the paper.
c. Each vocabulary word should be in its own bubble
d. Each vocabulary word should be connected to at LEAST one other vocabulary word.
e. The majority of vocabulary words should be connected to at LEAST two other vocabulary
words.
f. Each connection should be made using an ARROW connecting one bubble to another. The
arrow should accurately represent the DIRECTION of the relationship.
g. Along each arrow should be a SHORT phrase indicating the relationship between vocabulary
words.
h. All text and lines should be completed in a dark colored INK such as blue or black.
i. You should have at LEAST TEN Different Words - IN ADDITION to the required ones - as
Concepts.
4. Assessment
a. These concept maps will be peer assessed.
b. Your teacher will give a final grade after reviewing the peer assessment.

Required words:

The following words MUST be included in your concept map: Human Body, Skeletal System, Cardiovascular
System, Muscular System.

You may use “Gliffy.com” to create your concept map online if you wish. You’ll need to print it.
