Eating the appropriate vitamins, minerals, proteins, and carbohydrates is

important to human beings because proper nutrition can decrease the risk of
certain types of diseases. In particular, heart disease is a problem that is largely
preventable by eating a diet that is properly balanced and is low in fats and
sugars.

In order to maintain proper health and improve my nutrition, I will take the
following five steps:

1. I will limit my soda consumption to one can of Coca-cola per day. This is
an important step to reduce calories, because Coca-cola has a lot of
calories, but very little nutritional value.

2. I will eat at least one vegetable with lunch and dinner. This is important
because vegetables have lots of minerals, which are important for the
body.

3. I will eat at least one fruit with lunch and dinner. This is important
because fruit have lots of vitamins, which are important for the body.

4. I will drink at least one glass of water in the morning before I go to work.
is extremely important for the body, and even though I drink fluids
regularly, it will be good for me to get a little bit more water.

5. I will only eat fast food once per week. Fast food is usually loaded with
lots of fat, so by limiting the amount of fast food that I eat, I will be
reducing my fat intake, which is very important for a healthy heart.
