Section 2800Repair of Structures
2801DESCRIPTION
Repair of structures shall be carried out in accordance with the repair plans and theseSpecifications or as directed by the Engineer. Where repair work is not covered by theseSpecifications, special Specification may be framed.Implementation of repair schemes shall also conform to provisions of IRC:SP:40.
2802GENERAL2802.1Environmental Aspect
Care shall be taken to ensure suitable mitigation measures against noise and dust, pollutionand damages to the environs whether temporary or permanent and shall be taken asincidental to work.
2802.2Phasing
The sequence of work shall be in accordance with the drawings or as directed by theEngineer.
2802.3Traffic Management
Traffic management, signage, signaling arrangement, barricading, and lighting arrangementshall be in accordance with Section 100 and with these Specifications and shall beconsidered as incidental to work.
2802.4Safety Precautions
Adequate precautions shall be taken for safety of personnel, road users and existingservices, during execution. These shall be considered as incidental to work.Persons working shall wear safety helmets and rubber gloves.
2802.5Dismantling and Removal of Material
Dismantling of any bridge component and removal of materials shall conform to Section200 and this section and as shown on the drawings or as directed by the Engineer.
2803SEALING OF CRACKS BY INJECTION OF EPOXY RESIN2803.1General
The work of epoxy adhesive utilizing the Structural Concrete Bonding Process shall conformto these Specifications.

2803.2
The Contractor shall furnish detailed methodology of construction includingsources of supply of material, tools, equipment and appliances to be used on work, detailsof personnel and supervision.
2803.3Personnel
The Contractor’s personnel shall be qualified and experienced in epoxy injection process.
2803.4Material
The material for injection shall be suitable two-component low viscosity epoxy resin, havingthe required characteristics of bonding with concrete and resistance to moisture penetration.Epoxy mortar or polysulphide resin may be used for sealing the surface.The material for epoxy injection shall conform to the following :i)The mixing ratio of resin and hardener shall generally be between1 to 1 and 2 to 1 by volume subject to manufacturer’srecommendation.ii)Neither the mixed epoxy adhesives nor their individual componentshall contain solvents and thickners.iii)The components shall be free of lumps or foreign material. Theviscosity of the individual components shall not change more than+ 15 percent when kept in closed containers at 25°C after two weeks.iv)Consistency requirement
