Introduction

Temasek has numerous golf courses – 25 in total, ranging from simple driving ranges to
championship 18-hole courses. In this document, we thoroughly profile six of the more highly
regarded world-class golf courses in Singapore – Laguna National Golf Course, Marina Bay Golf
Course, Raffles Country Club Golf Course, Seletar Country Club Golf Course, Sentosa Golf Club Golf
Course and Tanah Merah Country Club Golf Course.

Laguna National Golf Course

Laguna National Golf Course boasts 2 18-hole golf courses – a Classic Course and a Masters Course.
Both have been the venue of numerous international golf tournaments such as the Singapore Open,
the Caltex Masters and the Asian PGA Tour. In 2002, the Laguna National Golf Course also hosted
the “Ballantine’s Legends of Golf” Competition, the very first
European Seniors Tour ever to be held in Asia. The golf course also
boasts a three-tiered driving range.

The Masters Course is the more famous of the pair. International

golf digests such as the Golf Digest International and Asian Golf
Monthly have ranked it among the top courses in the world. It has
also been given a 5-Star rating by the Straits Times, amongst a list
of other awards and accolades.

Marina Bay Golf Course

Opened in November 2006, Marina Bay Golf Course is the only

18-hole golf course located in the heart of town, providing a
stunning view of the city skyline. Unlike most other courses, it
is open to the public, and unlike all other courses, night golfing
is offered. The golf course also provides tremendous variety in
the length of its holes, numerous undulations and 91 pot
bunkers of varying sizes and depth, promising many hours of
fun and enjoyment.

Raffles Country Club Golf Course

With “Nature” as its main theme, Raffles Country Club has two 18-hole golf
courses – the Palm Course and the Lake Course. Both are designed to be as
natural as possible, with their gently undulating terrain and open parkland.

The Palm Course is commonly said to be a course for the thinking golfer, as
playing wildly would be dangerous here. This is probably due to its
strategically placed bunkers, lakes and undulating fairways. It was the
venue for the Asian PGA Championship in 1997 and 1998. The other course,
the Lake Course, was built in 1988 and lies along the Tengah Reservoir.

Seletar Country Club Golf Course

Seletar Country Club Golf Course was constructed in 1994 with a rustic country theme and the
emphasis on making the most out of the natural terrain. Located in the North, it overlooks the Lower
Seletar Reservoir, the Johor Straits and a vast expanse of greenery with hardly a city building in sight.
However, its main purpose is to serve the members of Seletar Country Club and is therefore strictly
the preserve of the club’s members and their guests. Visitors are not permitted to play on the course.

Sentosa Golf Club Golf Course

Sentosa Golf Club Golf Course is the only one out of the 6 to be
located off the mainland of Singapore. Instead, it is situated on the
island of Sentosa, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. It is
home to Asia’s biggest National Golf Tournament – the Barclays
Singapore Open and some of the world’s top players. Similar to
Laguna National Golf Course and Raffles Country Club Golf Course,
Sentosa Golf Club owns two championship 18-hole golf courses – the
Tanjong Course and the Serapong Course.

The Serapong Golf Course is the more prestigious of the two and has been awarded the highest
honors possible in the golfing scene. It was the venue for the World Qualifying Round of the Dunhill
Cup in 1988, and amazes with its spectacular scenery.

Tanah Merah Country Club Golf Course

Last but not least, the Tanah Merah Country Club Golf Course is
among the most decorated golf courses in Singapore and possible
Asia. Completed on 14 November 1978, it was the brainchild of MM
Lee Kuan Yew. It boasts two 18-hole golf courses, the Garden and the
Tampines Course.
