class?’ And I just said ‘Yes’.”

s. Aggie Thomas may not look like it, but she just celebrated
her 100th birthday this past Thursday, February 10.
“I’ve lived on this island my whole life except for five
years during the war when we lived in North Charleston,” said
Ms. Thomas. Along with a homemade lemon meringue pie made
by East Cooper Meals on Wheels (ECMOW) Recipient Services
Manager, Maggie Davidson, and a new gardenia bush given to her
by ECMOW volunteer Laurie Arthur, Ms. Thomas was given the
royal treatment with a parade in her honor along Middle Street this
past Saturday, Feb. 12. “I always said I wanted a parade for my
birthday when I turned 100,” smiled Ms. Thomas, and she got it.
