Q1.What made the MD change his mind and go against Maniyam? What role might the VP
-HR have played in the episode?

The Reasons for the MD changing his mind to go against Maniyam was due to the following
reasons:

 Maniyam hired people without even informing the MD and the VP-HR. The hiring of
Anil was one such example.
 The style in which Maniyam was functioning led to cultural clashes.
 Also there was a sense of insecurity in the mind of the MD since Maniyam was
getting all the appreciation for the concept he developed and hence the MD thought that
his place is in danger and so he decided to take the necessary action.

Q2.If you were Maniam, What would you do?

ANS:Getting fired, unfortunately, can happen to the best of us. It can happen even when it's
not one's own fault. It often comes unexpectedly. Yesterday, you’re happily working inside
your cubicle and the next day, your boss is telling you that you’re being laid off. People lose
their job for several reasons. There could be a personality conflict between yourself and your
supervisor which means that your idea of what the job was going to be like might differ from
what management was thinking. when you are sacked you experience denial, anger,
bargaining and depression before finally accepting your fate. You should Try to get your
grief out of your system as soon as you can.
As getting fired can happen to the best of us, Maniyam should not  dwell on it. Instead, focus
on what he is going to do next and how he is going to find another job.  If I were Maniyam I
might actually say, as a mantra, "The layoff will pay off," hoping the affirmation will
strengthen the neural pathway storing that thought. It's like exercising a muscle: The more
you use it, the stronger it gets.

To help make that mantra a reality, I'd ask myself a few questions: What can I learn from the
layoff? Should I vet my next employer more carefully? On my next job, do I need to work
harder? Acquire new skills? Be lower-maintenance? Make myself better liked by peers? Do I
need a job target that better matches my strengths and avoids my weaknesses? If I didn't
know the answers, I'd get a 360-degree evaluation, based on candid, evaluations from former
bosses, co-workers, customers and the like.

Also I'd make minimally painful cuts to my expenses as i am not earning. Lifestyle changes
usually follow after losing a job so i will be prepared to lessen or eliminate unnecessary
expenses.
