Proclamation

OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEPORT

WHEREAS, Bill Knoll moved to Lakeport in 1972; and WHEREAS, Bill Knoll managed the local Sprouse Reitz from 1972 to 2000 and successfully completed 35 years with the company; and WHEREAS, Bill Knoll has served on numerous boards including the Sutter Lakeside Foundation, the Lakeport Senior Center, and the Lake County Fair; and WHEREAS, Bill Knoll has also volunteered for the Lake County Chamber of Commerce, the No Name Car Club, the Sutter Lakeside Hospital Auxiliary, the Lakeport Senior Center Thrift Store and Lakeport Kiwanis; and WHEREAS, Bill Knoll was recognized in 2010 for being Volunteer of the Year for Sutter Lakeside Hospital and received the Stars of Lake County Volunteer of the Year Award; and WHEREAS, Bill Knoll served on the Lakeport City Council from 1994 - 2006 and was Mayor in 1999 - 2000; and WHEREAS, Bill Knoll was one of the founding members of the City of Lakeport Parks and Recreation Commission, which was established in 1984 and served until 1986; and WHEREAS, Bill Knoll served an additional term of the Lakeport Parks and Recreation Commission from 2008 to 2010; and WHEREAS, Bill Knoll served on the City of Lakeports Traffic Safety Advisory Committee from 2007 to 2011; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Lakeport hereby recognizes Bill Knoll for his passion for volunteerism, his many contributions to the community, and his volunteer services to the City of Lakeport. I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of Lakeport to be affixed this 21st day of June, 2011.
