Ecopoint and Olive Ventures announce cooperation to launch Ecopoint Community in Singapore

Hong Kong / Singapore, 1st July 2011 Ecopoint Ltd. in Hong Kong and Olive Ventures Pte. Ltd. in Singapore signed a far reaching agreement to co-operate in building and engaging Singapores environmental B2B community on the ground. The cooperation will involve the provision of a Singapore focused version of www.ecopoint.asia with only Singapore related content which will feed back into the Asian platform. The Ecopoint platform will by then include a social networking functionality including working and project groups, public meeting and exclusive, by invitation only board rooms in order to allow likeminded eco professionals to meet, discuss and exchange as well as creating business opportunities. Furthermore, there will be meet-ups, networking opportunities and other events to support local Singaporean environmental businesses. Jochen Kleef, Chairman of Ecopoint Limited, said: Ecopoint is the first eco business community in Asia that is trying to help and support environmental companies through its online platform. Whilst the Internet is a great way to interact through social media and meet new contacts on a wider scale, it does not replace interaction between people. To us, building trust and relationships is the same online as offline in order to become comfortable in dealing with each other and this takes time. Our idea was always that we enable and accelerate finding likeminded environmental practitioners across Asia online but we also want to build a community which is clearly not there at the moment.
