2.0INTRODUCTION AND COURSE OBJECTIVES

syconH.R was contracted by WACSI to run atraining programmeinCorporate Governancefor 15to21 Executive Directors and Board Membersof Civil Society Organisations (CSOs)in Liberia. Thehighly interactive workshop, which ran for 4 days, gaveparticipants the opportunity to raise, discussand analyse issues,and make suggestions for implementing appropriateand effectivegovernancestructureswithin CSOs in Liberia.
2.2Course Objectives and Approach
WACSI had specific goals and objectives that they expected the Corporate Governance training toachieve. Theseobjectiveswere to provide:
Standard guidelinesto be used as a point of reference on CSO corporate governance issues inLiberia
Tools that will enable easier and effective implementation of agreed standards and practices
Scope for strengthening institutional capacity to build effective governance structures.In addition to these overall objectives, each session/topic had its own specific objectives.
