Question 2.
How does your media product represent social groups?
In this question I am going to discuss the features of my magazine and how the features represent the social group of hip hop lovers.

My product represents the social group of hip-hop lovers from the stylish look and colour scheme of the front cover. My front image for example represents the hip-hop culture as my model is dressed in clothes that connote a traditional gangster/hip hop feel. Something people can relate to if they like the same music genre. In my opinion if someone liked hip-hop they would automatically be able to tell the genre of my magazine. Also the male model I used has a dominant look about him visible from body language and facial expression he has. The crown I have used on my masthead will draw the desired audience as it is showing a bit of swag, which is what I want as that is the name of my magazine.

I think that using the crown with the bold font of my masthead gives the impression that my magazine has authority such as a King or Queen giving my audience the feeling that they are reading an important magazine. My masthead also stands out as the white colour of text is almost illuminated against the black background as they are contrasting colours. I constructed my artist profile on my double page spread introducing the stars featured in my article.

The type of person and their interests are evident in my contents page from the images provided showing the clothing of which hip-hop lovers wear and also from the contents which are listed on the left hand side. This shows evidence, as there are names of artists related to hip-hop music genre such as Dizzy Wright talks about 2012 album. The items listed in my contents would interest the reader if they like hip hop, as they are all associated with the culture of hip hop.
