Reactor Operator License/Certification. A Senior Reactor Operator directs the activities of reactor operators and is responsible for coordinating activities associated with operation, maintenance, and testing at a nuclear station. Senior Reactor Operator Instructor duties include the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of training programs for licensed operators.

Key Accountabilities & Activities Key Accountabilities 1. Staff Training and Qualification Key Activities Successfully complete all required training courses including Main Control Room Operator, Shift Manager, Shift Technical Advisor, Leadership, and/or Training Instructor Certification as applicable. Attain Senior Reactor Operator License/Certification Demonstrate leadership in the classroom and simulator training sessions. Effectively communicate during time critical and stressful events Effectively solve problems and implement appropriate actions to mitigate events and resolve issues Assess plant conditions and provide concise directions to other license candidates in response to those conditions

Preferred Ideally holds a mechanical or electrical engineering degree with a high GPA

Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent in engineering, engineering technology, or physical sciences.

Experience

3 years experience within maintenance, mechanical or electrical engineering field

2 years work experience in oil and gas industry or fossil fired electric generating industry, preferably engineering, operations, or technical support positions
