Role:SW Test Specialist


Role Description
Focuses on functional testing, responsible for segments of test planning, design and execution,
meeting planned scope and schedule and maintaining the engagement and relationship with the
client/ internal customers. Proficient in the use of SW testing tools/environments. Has a deep
understanding of Amdocs products, business and operational environments, testing methodology
and lifecycle and business flows and requirements. Provides recommendations for issue
resolution, system optimization and test efficiency.
Key responsibilities

1. Oversees and performs test execution activities, including implementation of test


automation procedures and scripts.Determines the proper prioritization of the testing
activities and ensures integrative work and full coverage of test scenarios based on the
test plan and observations from concurrent testing activities.
2. Collects and analyzes system behavioral results in order to provide recommendations
for issue resolution as well as for system optimization.
3. Defines the execution test plan, scope and resources required to meet the objectives of
the test activities in his/her area of ownership (segments of the project/engagement).
4. Designs test solutions to be implemented and executed in alignment with the planned
scope and design coverage and customer needs/use, leveraging knowledge and a broad
understanding of E2E business processes and requirements. Responsibilities include:-
Analyzing the test basis and identifying test conditions- Determining appropriate types
of functional testing to be performed- Selecting and applying testing techniques to
ensure that tests provide an adequate level of confidence based on defined coverage
criteria- Designing repeatable, verifiable and traceable test cases
5. Maintains and enhances the professional and business relationship with the customer
and internal stakeholders (e.g., Product Manager, Architect, Designer).
6. Calls attention to and focus on incident assessments. Works closely with test lead/
manager to resolve technical queries/ sticky points and ensures RCA for all problems
in his area of ownership. Acts as technical interface with other teams to resolve issues
and communicate conclusions and recommendations.
7. Identifies and analyzes risks and their potential business impact to determine the
proper prioritization of the testing activities based on the risk assessment (e.g., which
have been mitigated, which are considered to be unmitigated).
8. Ensures that product documentation, testware and work products used in the testing
activities are of the highest quality to ensure traceability, correctness and compliance
to both internal standards and client needs.
9. Effectively participates in and/or leads formal and informal reviews with stakeholders,
applying knowledge and experience and providing a technical perspective to these
reviews.
10. Provides professional and technical support for team members and keeps them
informed of assignment/ project status. Mentors new team members.
11. Supports and promotes test efficiency and optimization initiatives. Leverages
knowledge across test Implementations and projects, and defines best use/ reuse of
testing tools and best practices.
Critical Experiences
1. 7-8 years of relevant experience, preferably in SW testing/ SDLC environment and
methodologies
2. In depth knowledge of testing tools
3. Telecommunication experience/ knowledge
4. Amdocs business and Cross Portfolio knowledge- advantage
Credentials
Bachelors Degree in IT/ Computer Science/ Industrial Engineering/ System Analysis
