Chapter 1 Renesmee's Point of View Luke and Stella were sleeping in the back of our mini van, their

mouths making little ohs. It is amazing as a mom to see how much your children can grow in such a short period of time. Luke and Stella had the same father, but they couldn't look more different. Luke had turned five a couple months ago. He had short beach blonde hair (from his father's side), pale skin (from me), and big brown eyes (also from me). His favorite thing in the entire world was his gameboy and his car baseball hat. Luke was extremely responsible and a adamant rule follower. But, he was also the smartest most generous little boy that I had ever met and when he was first born he taught me what true love means. Stella was the complete opposite of her brother. Stella was three years old and her vocabulary amazed me every day. Stella had long bronze curls (from me), tan skin (from her father), and electric golden eyes. Stella was a mommy's girl and wanted to be a princess when she grows up. She was a free spirit who did what she wanted when she wanted, which drives Luke and I nuts. Stella could make a fashion statement out of anything you threw at her and you always saw her smiling. Stella was a sweet little girl and taught me patience. My kids were the best a mom could ever ask for! Clich? I know, but what can I say I'm biased. Though Luke and Stella never told me, I know that I have made mistakes. When their father did the world a favor, and drank himself to death, I remember Luke started bringing friends over to the house. Once, while I was in the kitchen I could hear them talking in the living room. "Where's your dad?" Luke's friend asked "I don't have one." "Oh, you mean he's . . . dead?" "No. I haven't ever had a dad before." It broke my heart to think that they would grow up without a father figure in their life, I know that they would never say anything, but I knew that a part of them blames me for not having a father figure. My name is Renesmee Carlie Cullen. My story is extremely complicated, very hard, but I wouldn't want to be anybody else. When I was little my grandmother, Renee, would tell me stories of my parents. Almost every single night until I was 12 she would tell me the story. "Well, Nessie," she would always start. "Your mother was my daughter. Her name was Bella and when she was 17 she fell in love with your father,

Edward. When they had you they were living with Edward's family. His parents, who are your grandparents, Carlisle and Esme, and his adopted brothers and sisters, Alice, Jasper, Emmett, and Rosalie, who are your aunts and uncles. "But, when you were five years old, your parents, grandparents, and aunts and uncles were in a car accident and all of them went to live in heaven. And that's when your grandpa Charlie brought you to Phil and I. Because before your parents went to live in heaven they told Charlie that they wanted Phil and I to raise you." Then, Renee would pause to tickle me and she would pull out an old picture and a locket from my jeweler box. The locket was a golden antique and when I opened it there was a picture of two people smiling on one side and then on the other with me and a teenage boy when I was a baby. And in the picture was a line of people smiling and the two people in my locket were holding me in their arms. I remember the first time Renee showed me them I asked who they were. "These are your parents." Renee pointed to the two people in the locket. "Then she would repeat their names and point to their faces, "Bella and Edward." "Who's that?" I pointed to the boy holding me. "That, Renesmee is a special boy." "Special? How is he special, Renee?" My voice would go an octave higher. "Well, do you know how I once lived in Forks, Washington where your parents lived?" When I nodded she would go on. "Well, when your mother was little that was her best friend. His name is Jacob." I remember looking at her and gasping, she would nod to me, and I would hold the locket close to my face trying to see him more clearly . "I know Nessie, I know. And when your mother moved back to Forks they became best friends again." "Again?" I asked "Again." In the locket my parents had very pale skin and electric golden eyes (like Stella). My father had long-ish bronze hair and my mother had long dark brown hair. They were gorgeous and when I started to get older I would always wonder why I wasn't as beautiful as they were. They boy holding me on the other side was even more magnificent. He had short black hair and had a very tan body that looked very tall from the position he sat in the picture. He had stunning white teeth, but the best part of him was his big black eyes. Renee would then point to the picture. "This is your Grandpa Carlisle, Grandma Esme, Aunt Alice, Uncle Jasper, Your dad, You," She would pause to tickle me. "Your mom, Jacob, Uncle Emmett, and Aunt Rosalie." Every one in the picture had the same golden eyes and pale skin, the only difference between them all was body types and hair color, except for Jacob. But, yet again every one was gorgeous. "Okay, that's enough for today. You should go to sleep, Nessie." Renee would kiss my forehead, jump off of my bed, and put my locket and picture back in my jeweler box. Renee would pause to stand in the doorway. "Goodnight, baby," she would whisper. "Goodnight," I would whisper back. Renee would turn off my light and close my door. I would wait in my bed until I was sure that she wasn't going to check on me, I would tip toe to my jewerly box and take out the picture and locket and stare at them in the moonlight.

"Mom, are we almost there?" Luke's voice took me out of the past and back to the present. "We will be there in a little more than an hour, Baby." "Why are we moving? I like Florida, Mom! I'm going to miss my first year of kindergarten." I took a deep breathe and explain myself for the umpteenth time. "I'm sorry, Luke. But, we can't live in Florida anymore and besides it's to expensive. But, Honey, Mommy's grandfather went to go live in heaven and before he left, he said that we could live in his house in Forks. And, you can go to kindergarten in Forks and, you can make even more friends here." He pulled out his Gameboy from a pocket in the car and turned it on. "I miss my friends." "I know, Luke, I know." The year I turned 12, Renee was killed in a car accident. That was the worst year of my life. That was that closest I've come to pure hell. After Renee died, I had absolutely no one. I was still living with Phil, but not out of will. And, no one, not even Renee could know what would happen to me. A week after Renee died, I noticed how Phil had become a heavy drinker. He lost everything, his wife, both his parents, his job, and his happiness. And that's when my life ended and started. I won't get into detail, but I was abused and molested. Two years later, I got pregnant and gave birth to my first child with Phil (not by choice), when I was only 14. Then, two years after that I gave birth to Stella with Phil. Phil would go to work before the kids and I got up, and got home when the kids were already in bed. Luke and Stella weren't allowed to call him dad and they rarely saw him. One day Luke and Stella told me that they liked it that way. Phil died a year ago from alcohol addiction and I couldn't pay the bills. In our small town in Florida, everyone knew everyone, and I was to embarrassed to tell anyone the real story so, there were a lot of misconceptions about me. I couldn't get a job as a 19 year old high school dropout with two kids. Two weeks ago a lawyer from Forks, Washington called me to tell me that my Grandpa Charlie had died and left me his house in his will. The lawyer sent me a key, told me that Charlie's funeral was in a little over a month from now, and if I had any questions to call him. I looked at my kids in the mirror and wondered again for the hundredth time, if I was making the right decision. "Okay, kids. This is it." We pulled up to the two story house. "What do you think?" I hopped out of the car and started unbuckling them from their car seats. "I love it, Mommy! It's fit for a princess," Stella exclaimed. "That's right. A perfect castle for you. Luke, what do you think?" His answer was what I was most worried about. Luke looked at me with wide eyes and his jaw dropped. "I . . .LOVE IT!" He threw his hands up in the air. Stella jumped out of the car and ran next to

Luke and they started doing their "happy dance". Stella and Luke started wiggling their hips and bending their knees over and over again. I couldn't help but laugh. "Alright you two, let's unload the U-haul truck and then we can celebrate." It took four long hours to unload the attachment U-haul truck. Luke tried to help me as best as he could, but it was still difficult. The hardest parts were the mattresses, Grandpa Charlie already had dressers, TV's, tables, and chairs or else Luke and I wouldn't have made it. Luke and I unloaded the awkward heavy furniture while Stella set up decorations. By the end of the day Luke, Stella, and I were exhausted. We took a look at the house. We mixed Charlie's old furniture with ours to make it our own. We put pillows and blankets on the couch and loveseat, a centerpiece in the dinning room, pictures and paintings on the walls, curtains and rugs, and new beds and comforters. It was amazing, something to call home. "Mommy, I'm hungry!" Stella groaned. I ventured into the kitchen and found a box of cereal in one of the cabinets. Luke, Stella, and I finished then entire box in record time. While I was cleaning our bowls, Luke and Stella wondered into the living room to watch a cartoon. By the time I was done both of them were asleep. I scooped up Luke and carried him to his room upstairs and down the hall from mine. I kissed him on the forehead and closed the door and went back for Stella. I did the same for her and took her to her room right next to mine, I kissed her on her forehead and was about to close her door when I heard her whisper, "Mommy?" "Yes?" "I love you." "I love you more, now go to sleep, Baby. I have a surprise for you and Luke in the morning." I took a shower in the bathroom adjoined to my bedroom and threw on some sweats. I turned off my light and cocooned myself under my covers. I pulled out the picture from my childhood from my nightstand. I instinctively rubbed my hands against their faces and then out of habit touched the locket around my neck. I started to wonder what my family was like, how they acted, and was mad at myself for not remembering them. And then, like I did every night, I wondered what my life would be like if they hadn't have died and if I had spent my childhood with them. But, most importantly, I wondered, if I had a choice, if I would have stayed with them if I could. I smiled, knowing that my answer was no. I would have chosen the life that I lived now because if I didn't then I wouldn't have Luke and Stella. And Luke and Stella are every mother's dream and I wouldn't trade them for the world.

Chapter 2 Renesmee's Point of View "Mommy, wake up." "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy, what's our surprise, what's our surprise?" I felt someone tug at my eyelids and then a line of laughter. I opened my eyes to see Luke and Stella right next to my face. "Good morning, Mommy." "Goodmorning, Sleepyhead." I looked at the clock on my nightstand. Seven o'clock. Great. "Good morning guys," I replied. "What's our surprise, Mommy?" Stella asked eagerly. I tried to remember what it was and then I realized what it was. "Do you kids know that my Mommy and Daddy used to live here? And, that I was born here?" Luke and Stella nodded and I continued. "Well, when I was little I would visit Grandpa Charlie, the person who owned this house, in the summer. And every summer he would take me to visit the house that my family used to live in and the one that I was born in. So, Mommy was wondering if you guys wanted to go see it with me." Luke and Stella were nodding eagerly. "Okay, we can go, but we have to get ready and -," before I could finish, Stella and Luke ran off to their rooms to get dressed. Thirty minutes later Luke, Stella, and I were packed in our car and winding up the long drive when the house came into view. It hadn't changed much in all these years since I had come. The grand English colonial stacked high in the sky making a glorious impression on my kids, especially Stella. I parked the car in the hade of the trees by the entrance. "Wow. This Mommy is fit for a princess." Stella was smiling from ear to ear. I unbuckled Luke and Stella when out of the corner of my eye I saw

something move. I turned my head to see a shirtless boy with kaki shorts on open the front door from the inside out. He didn't see the kids or I from the shade of the trees. "Mommy, who is that?" Stella pointed to the boy. "I don't know, but I'm about to find out," I said mainly to myself. I threw Stella on my hip, grabbed Luke's hand, and approached the boy. "Hey!" He turned to the sound of my voice, he seemed frozen in place and guilty. "Hey! What do you think you are doing? This is a private property! You can't be here!" As I got closer to him I saw thought that I recognized him from some where, but I couldn't put my finger on it. The boy looked no more than 16, he had short black hair, tan skin, and a muscular body with a tattoo on one arm. "Listen lady, I don't know what your talking about, but-" He stopped when Luke, Stella, and I were standing right in front of him. The boy was looking directly at my collar bone and I instinctively looked down, but only saw my locket. "Wait a second, where did you get that locket?" They boy looked up at me and finally registered my face. It looked like a wave of shock slapped him in the face. I took a step back from him. "Wait, just wait one second. Please." Before I could even register what he was saying he ran up the porch steps and came back out seconds later with a very short girl and a very tall muscular man. "Seth this better be important! There's only 4 minutes left of my game and-" The tall muscular man stopped midsentence. "Oh my God!" The tall muscular man had short, black, curly hair, very pale skin, and stunning golden eyes. I recognized him immediately from my picture in my room. Emmett. "I told you it was good, Emmett." Seth smiled like he just accomplished a big problem. The short pixie like girl danced to my side. "It can't be," she said in wonder. She had short, pointy, black hair and the same golden eyes as Emmett and Stella. Alice. "No, no way. You're dead ho can this . . . How can you . . . Alice? . . .Emmett? How . . . When? . . ." "Mommy?" Stella and Luke said at the same time. "Mommy?" Alice asked and shook her head. "May I see the locket that you are wearing?" When I nodded she reached for it brushing my skin with her icy temperature, she opened the locket, and closed it after a second. "What is your name?" "Renesmee." Behind her it looked like Emmett was going to puke, but Alice's face didn't change. "Do you know who we are?" Alice asked. "Alice and Emmett. I'm so confused. I thought you were dead." "We can explain everything, but you need to trust me," Alice stared at me with big golden eyes. "Can you please come inside? I promise to explain." No. Turn away and run. NOW! "Sure," I said. Alice gave me a stunning smile, showing off her crystal white teeth. Alice took my hand, making me jump a little from the coldness of her skin. Alice led Luke, Stella, and I inside. When we entered there was a double grand staircase, a music room with a grand piano the the left, and a living room the the right. Alice let us sit down on the white leather couches in the living room and sat right next to me, Seth and Emmett stood in the doorway. "What did I miss, Alice? Anything exciting?" Another voice came from the

back of the house. "You should probably come see this, Rose." Alice sang. Rosalie? And my suspicions were confirmed when the tall blonde walked into the doorway. She was gorgeous! Her blonde hair cascaded around her shoulders and down her back, Rosalie had long black eyelashes framing her golden eyes and pale skin with full pink lips. "Alice, what can be so important that you have to get up during the middle of the design-" She stopped when her eyes met mine. "Is it her?" Rosalie asked Alice. When Alice nodded, Rosalie slowly came and stood in front of me. "It's really you." She said. "Mommy she's beautiful," Luke whispered. Rosalie looked in his direction as if noticing Luke and Stella for the first time. "Who are these lovely kids?" Rosalie smiled. "Um . . . Well, these are my kids, Luke and Stella." "How old are they?" "Luke is five and Stella is three." "Can I hold them?" Rosalie asked, her eyes pleading. "Sure," I replied and before she could grab them Luke jumped into her arms. I was about to yell at him until Rosalie caught him and laughed. Stella climbed across my lap to tap Alice on the shoulder. "Pssst," When Alice turned her head, Stella continued. "I like your shoes." Alice's eyes lit up. "Why, thank you, Stella. I have a whole closet full of shoes. Maybe later I can show you." Alice smiled at her and won Stella over in just three sentences. Stella found a new best friend and there was no stopping it now. Stella reached over me to sit on Alice's lap. Emmett, in the corner, still looked like he was going to throw up and Seth was still smiling like crazy. "Are there any more?" I asked. Alice and Rosalie knew exactly what I was talking about and nodded their heads. "We are all here. Do you know who we are?" Rosalie asked moving Luke to her hip. "You're Rosalie, Alice, Emmett," when I said his name his head snapped up and it looked like he was calming down, he smiled at me. "And then, Jasper, Grandpa Carlisle, Grandma Esme, Mom, and Dad." Now everyone, besides Luke and Stella, in the room gave me bewildered looks. "Where are they? And you promised me answers, Alice. I thought that you all died in a car crash." Emmett chuckled under his breathe and just then the front door slammed open. Luke, Stella, and I jumped, but everyone else seemed unwavered. "Alice, what's that smell? We were just hunting and-" The man who spoke stepped forward so that we could see his face. He had wind-blown, bronze hair, pale skin, a muscular build, golden eyes, and dark circles under his eyes. He was absolutely gorgeous. Edward. He didn't even look at us, but he suddenly dropped to the floor on his knees. His hands pulled to the side of his head and a painful look crossed his face. I tried to stand up, but Alice put her hand lightly on my shoulder and I couldn't move. Emmett, Alice, and Rosalie didn't even look at my father and didn't even seem concerned, but hey went quiet. My kids knew better than to talk or ask questions. "Edward?" A young girl with pale skin, golden eyes, and long brown hair stepped forward and crouched down next to him. Bella. "What's wrong, son?" A middle aged man, who looked older than the rest of my family, looked down on Dad. He had short, blonde, professional hair,

golden eyes, pale skin, and normal height bent down to him. Grandpa Carlisle. "She's . . . Here. . . Back . . .Over . . .There," Edward said and pointed in my direction. "Who, Edward. Who?" Bella said without looking at me. Grandpa Carlisle slowly turned his head towards me and then a mixture of joy and pain crossed his face. "Renesmee?" Grandpa Carlisle asked. Then, a lady and a young man stepped around the corner. The lady was older from the rest. She had the same pale skin and golden eyes, but her frame was slightly taller and her dark brown hair fell around her shoulders. Grandma Esme. The young man had a normal height, long, light brown hair, golden eyes, and pale skin. Jasper. Grandma Esme broke out into broken sobs and walked very slowly over to me. "Is it you?" She asked. I nodded my head. "Grandma Esme?" I asked and she broke into more tearless crys. Grandma Esme sat down next to me and put an arm protectively over my shoulders. "It can't be! No. No! NO!" Jasper shouted and ran back out the door. "Jasper!" Alice called after him. Alice stood and I grabbed her hand to stay. Alice took one look at my face and sat back down with Stella. Bella looked over to me at had a horrified look on her face. She stayed next to Edward, but her eyes never left mine. "Mommy, who are they?" Stella asked. When she spoke everyone's head snapped to her and Luke, noticing them for the first time. "Who are these kids?" Grandma Esme asked. "These are her kids. Stella," Emmett said nodding to Stella. "And Luke." Emmett walked over to Rosalie and held out his hands to Luke asking for his permission. Luke left Rosalie and jumped into Emmett's open arms. "Her kids?" asked my Edward. Edward looked at me for the first time and when I nodded he got up off the ground and came over to me. "It's really you, Nessie." "It's really me." Edward broke out it to a smile. "Renessmee?" Bella asked. I turned my head towards her and she slowly walked up to me. "Why are you here?" Did he not want me? Was it a mistake coming here? "No," Edward said and I wondered how he knew, maybe he saw it on my face. "What your mother means is why did you decide to come here now?" "Oh. Well, Grandpa Charlie's lawyer contacted me saying that he died and left the house to me." I shrugged and Bella nodded. "But Alice promised me that she would explain how you all are alive." Everyone looked at each other with worried glances. "I'll go get Jasper. He should be here." Alice said. She walked out of the house and moments later she came back with Jasper. He scowled at me and Alice elbowed him and his expression softened. Alice danced back to sit next to me, but Jasper stayed in the doorway. "Well, Nessie . . . We can't die. We're not like normal people. We can't sleep. We can't eat. We don't have to breathe. We can run faster, lift heavier, we have all human abilities ampified," Edward said. "How?" "Well, you see Nessie we're vampires. I met your mother when she was

human and so you are half human half vampire. Luke and Stella are quarter vampire." I laughed. This was ridiculous. "You can't be serious, Dad." "I am serious and it's not completely ridiculous. It's why our skin is so cold and pale. It's why our eyes are golden because we hunt animal blood instead of humans or else they would be red. You see we also have special abilities. I can read minds, Alice can see the future, Jasper can control moods, and you mother has a shield." "Prove it. Read my mind." I thought of Stella's birthday coming up. Edward smiled and turned towards Stella. "Happy early birthday, Stella." Unbelievable. "Hey! Don't forget about us!" Seth yelled. "Seth is a different kind of supernatural. Him and some other people are werewolves. They can't change when they get mad. They are naturally muscular and their body temperature is hot. They can run without getting tired and they can imprint, which is basically when they see someone for the first time they can instantly fall in love," Edward's voice turned to a hard edge. "Prove it. Prove your vampires and werewolves." "Well the sun just came out. Nessie, Stella, Luke would you mind following us outside?" And before I could reply he was gone like he disappeared into the air. Alice grabbed my hand and led me outside to where Edward was standing. His skin shined against the light creating a million tiny sparkles. They sparkled. Unbelievable. "Whoa," Stella said in wonder in Alice's sparkling arms. "Gorgeous." Alice broke into a chime of laughter. "Hey Nessie! Watch this!" Seth yelled. And I stared dumbfounded as Seth jumped in the air and by the time he hit the ground a giant wolf was staring us in the face. Okay so maybe they were right about everything. Just then as my family was sparkling and the wolf of Seth was staring me in the face a man came out of the edge of the woods. I instantly recognized him as Jacob, he was even more beautiful in person. I looked at Dad and his face had a twisted look on his face. Oops. Alice leaned into me. "That's Jacob," she whispered. "He's also a werewolf." Well, I couldn't act surprised because it seemed that everything that I came to know was unraveling. "Well, I finished patrolling and-" Jacob stopped when he saw me. "What the hell is this?" He came to stand a little closer and then he realized who I was. "No. It can't be! Edward?" When Edward nodded his head, pain crossed Jacob's face and then it hardened into a glare. "No. This can't happen." He threw me one last glare then ran off back into the woods. "The sun is going down," Esme said. "Luke and Stella should get some sleep. You all are welcome to stay in one of our guest rooms or you could go back and come by tomorrow." "Thanks Grandma Esme, but I think the kids should get some rest in their own beds." "Okay you are welcome to come by tomorrow. I know it's a lot to digest." We all walked over to the car and Luke and Stella gave everyone hugs before Alice and Rosalie buckled them into their car seats. I was driving down the high way thinking of all of the different possibilities of leaving town. It was impossible that they were all vampires and werewolves. But, it was even more demented that I was starting to belive them. Vampires and

werewolves were suppoused to be mythical creatures, fake, not real. How could I put my kids in danger like that? But, were they danger? Yes! They definatley were! But, they seemed harmless and they were family, and . . . and . . . . And I trusted them, I huffed. But, they could slip. And what if they slipped on my kids? I couldn't bare that, Luke and Stella were my whole life. However, a hundred years more or less, was a long time to gain control. But, I couldn't risk it with my kids. This was just all so confusing and I just needed to clear my head. A shadowy figure appeared in the road. I stopped my car to see Jasper walking towards my window as I rolled it down. "Hey," Jasper said. "Hi." "Listen, I could feel like you wanted to leave and pretend like you never knew about us. But you have to understand that you don't live in the world that you thought that you did. If you run away now I can promise you that you will run into more supernatural people if you know it or not. Our family is good. We have our appetite under control, but there is a great chance that the people that you run into later in life won't. Nessie, if you stay with us, I promise we will protect you. And maybe I over reacted today, but that is because I was worried about anything happening to Alice. But, everyone here cares for you and your kids immensely. Just take a chance and trust us. We will make it work. I promise." I looked into the mirror and saw Luke and Stella asleep. I could say no. I could have just kept driving. I could have left. I could have done many things to get out of here. "Hop in. I think that I'm going to take Esme's offer." Jasper smiled and the next thing I knew he was sitting next to me in the passenger's seat. A couple minutes later I pulled back up to the house. Everyone was already outside. I got out of the car to unbuckle Stella and Luke, but my parents already had them in their arms. I smiled and ran up the porch steps. "Grandma Esme? I was wondering if your offer still stands." Grandma Esme gave me a big hug, kissed me on my cheek, and whispered, "Of course it does." That night Stella, Luke, and I were sleeping in one of the extravagant rooms and I felt something I hadn't in a very long time. I felt complete. And I fell asleep with a big smile on my face.

Chapter 3 Renesmee's Point of View I woke up and left the guest room to go upstairs. When I heard the faint sound of noises coming from the foyer. "How long is she staying?" I recognized the voice instantly even though I heard it very little. It was Jacob's voice. But, instead of a hard edge, his voice rang of pain. "As long as she likes," Mom answered. "I saw . . . Kids yesterday. Are they . . ." Jacob said. "Yes, they both are hers.. . . The five year old boy is Luke and the three

year old girl is Stella." Dad answered. "And where's the . . .?" Jacob didn't finish, but it sounded almost painful for him. "Father? I don't know. She didn't think about or say it. But, I do know that he doesn't live with them. He's not around," Dad replied. "Does she know about me?" Dad laughed. "Yes, she knows your name and she recognized you from pictures. Renee told her about us growing up and she explained you as special," Dad laughed again. "Nessie finds you attractive." My cheeks reddened immediately from embarrassment, but to my surprise I heard Jacob laugh. "So, she knows about everything, I guess. Did you tell her about . . ." "Yes," Dad replied his unspoken thoughts. "Did you tell her about me?" "No, I thought that you would want to tell her yourself." Tell me what? "What are you going to do with Leah?" Mom asked. "I don't know. Things have been a little rough between us lately. We are starting to grow apart." I was mad. He had a girlfriend named Leah. But why was I feeling this way. Who was she? And why did I suddenly hate her? "Are you going to the funeral tomorrow?" Mom asked. "Of course, Bells. I wouldn't miss it for the world. I needa go, patrol don't run themselves. . . . Oh and thanks guys." I heard the door close and I knew that he was gone. I ran to the other side of the house to find Grandma Esme cooking up a storm of breakfast foods. "Hey, I thought that you didn't eat," I said. "Oh, goodmorning Nessie. And I don't, but you do." She handed me a plate full of eggs, toast, bacon, and sausage. I sat down at the dining room table and she sat next to me. "So, did you sleep alright?" "Yes, it was perfect Grandma Esme. Thank you for letting us stay here." "Oh, it was my pleasure." "So, where is everybody else?" I asked. "This is just the main house. I had other houses built around this one. There is one for Rosalie and Emmett, Alice and Jasper, one for your parents, and another big one for Jacob's pack. Carlisle and I are the only ones who live in this house." "So, why are there extra bedrooms, dining rooms, and kitchens?" "Well, sometimes Sam's pack will come over and need to rest and both packs are always hungry," Grandma Esme laughed to herself. "And the dining room is mainly for family meetings." "Packs? What's that?" "It's the werewolf pack. Actually there is two, but really only Jacob's pack stays here. However, occasionally Sam's pack will all come here." "Why are there two packs?" "Well, werewolves usually change in their adolescence. So, a man named Sam phased before Jacob did, he became the 'Alpha'. But when Jacob changed he was born to be the alpha. Jacob denied it until you came along," Grandma Esme grabbed my hand. "Then they decided that Sam would teach the new werewolves how to be one and Jacob would work with a pack that was more experienced. So, now Jacob's pack patrols the borders of La Push and Forks to stop any normal vampires from innocent citizens. In his pack are him,

Seth, and other people that you might not remember like Paul, Embry, Quil, Collin, and Brady, but there are also more added after you left and they are John, Lenny, Dennis, Justin, Anthony, and Will. Sam's pack has younger werewolves named Steven, George, Brad, Mitchel, Michael, Tristan, Aaron, but Sam has a women named Leah who is apart of his pack, she is one of the older ones and she helps Sam train them to become part of Jacob's pack." "Wow," was all that I could say. "I know there are a lot." "Mommy?" Stella and Luke's voice rang from the other room. "I'm in here," I called. Grandma Esme was gone in a flash and then came back with to extra plates full of food. "Hey! We're here! Esme?" I heard Seth yell. "We're in here," Grandma Esme sang. And from around the corner Seth walked in with a line of other native Americans that I was guessing was part of the pack. I looked for a familiar face, but all I saw was Seth until the last person came around the corner and I saw Jacob staring directly in my eyes. I looked away quickly. Grandma Esme was gone in a flash and came back with ten huge plates filled with ten times the food as Luke's and mine. Grandma Esme sat them all down at individuals spots on the table. "Boys act like gentleman and introduce yourselves to this lovely lady and her children." Grandma Esme gave them a winning smile and Sat down next to me. "Hi, I don't think that we officially met yesterday, I'm Seth." I shook his hand. "I'm Nessie," I smiled. Luke, Stella, and I went down the line and met Justin, Will, Dennis, Quil, Lenny, Collin, Emery, and Brady. The last one was Jacob. Jacob gave me a forced smile and I bit my lip. He met my eyes and I stared into the big brown ones. "Hey. I'm Jacob. Sorry for . . . the way I acted yesterday. I was . . .surprised." "It's fine. I'm Nessie . . . It's nice to meet you." He gave me another smile and moved on to Luke. "Hey, little man. I'm Jacob," his face had a certain light about it when he talked to my kids a big grin spread across his face, his eyes lit up, and his husky voice became softer. "Do you like cars?" Jacob asked noticing his Lightning Macaque shirt. When Luke nodded, Jacob continued, "Well, I have a few cars myself maybe you can check them out sometime." Luke's face lit up and he was instantly won over. "Hi, you must be Stella," Jacob said. When Stella nodded her head Jacob continued. "It's nice to meet you, my name is Jacob." "Hi, Jacob!" We ate breakfast comfortably, Jacob and I said little. And the conversation was filled with Seth talking. Luke, Stella, and I left the house two hours after the pack did. I was riding down the road 10 miles from my house when the mini van broke down. "UGH! No, no, no!" "Mommy, what's wrong?" Stella asked. "The car stopped working," I said. "Oh well, I will pick it up tomorrow. We are just going to have to walk the rest of the way." I unbuckled Stella and Luke and we walked next to the road for about a half a mile when it started raining. "Yay! Mommy, Luke! It's raining!" Stella shouted and started dancing in

the street. "Stella get out of the road!" Luke and I said together. I ran up to her and grabbed her hand and towed her back to the side of the street. An oncoming car's headlights was coming into view. "Stella you can't do that. Or else you could get hurt. What if that car didn't see you, Stella?" The car was clearer now, it was an old Rabbit, but to my surprise instead of driving by, the car pulled up next to us and the window rolled down to reveal Jacob's smiling face. "What happened?" "Our mini van broke died," Luke said. "Is that right?" Asked Jacob. Luke nodded and I stepped in. "Our van broke down so, now we are walking," I said. "Where are you headed?" "Home." "Hop in I can give you a ride!" I debated for a second and he noticed it. "It's on my way." He smiled. "Well if it's on the way . . ." I said and I opened the back door to buckle in Luke and Stella. When I hopped in the front seat Jacob smiled. "Thanks for this." "No problem. So, how are you liking Forks?" Jacob asked. "It's . . . Different." Jacob chuckled. "It's a lot to take in." "You have no idea." "What are these kites for?" Stella asked from the backseat. I turned around to see six big kites lying on the car floor. "Well, tomorrow there is a carnival in town and I was going to go fly kites with my friends," Jacob explained. "Oh," Stella looked very disappointed and dropped her head. "You all can come with me if it's alright with your Mom," Jacob said throwing me under the bus. "Can we Mom?" Stella asked her face instantly lighting up again. "Yeah, can we please?" Luke asked desperately. "I don't know if I am comfortable with you guys being somewhere I'm not." "Who says you weren't invited?" Jacob smiled at me. "Mom can we? If you come?" Luke asked. "Um . . . I guess it's okay." "Yay!" Luke and Stella said together. Jacob was smiling like crazy. "I will call you the details. Do you have a phone?" He asked. "Yes." I grabbed a napkin and a pen and wrote it down. "Here you go," I said handing him the napkin as he pulled up to the house. Luke and Stella unbuckled and ran up to the front door. "Thanks. I will call you later." He gave me one last smile as he drove off down the street. "Mommy, hurry! I am cold," Stella said. And I stared dumbfounded down my driveway. Why was I suddenly glad that I had an excuse to see Jacob Black tomorrow?

Chapter 4 Jacob's Point of View

When I got to the house that Esme had built for the wolves I went immediately upstairs and jumped on my bed. I looked for my phone until I heard it ringing. Was it Nessie? My heart skipped a beat. I looked at the phone and Leah was calling me. I was such an idiot, how would she even know my number. I knew I shouldn't be feeling this way when Leah and I were still in a relationship, but how could I not? The way she looked this morning at breakfast, she made bedhead look attractive. And when she was in the rain . . . Ugh! I kicked myself mentally and answered the phone. "Hello?" I asked not to pleased that it was Leah that I was talking to. "Hey Jacob." "What's up?" "I'm sick. So, I can't go kite flying tomorrow." I should have been mad. We have been planning this trip with Sam, Emily, Rachel, and Paul forever. I searched what I was feeling mad, sad, hurt. But, I only found relief. "Oh," was all I said. I knew I was being a jerk, but things have been really tense between us lately. "Get over here! I don't feel good," Leah whined, "I just got home and I'm so tired." "Please," she whined again. "I can't." Lies. "Well, fine then." "I need to go Leah." "Okay, well I love you." Did she? More importantly did I? "I need to go." I closed my phone and instantly started feeling guilty, but I couldn't bring myself to tell her that I loved her when it wasn't true. I thought of things to do that would clear my head. I could go cliff diving, running, swimming, I could do anything in the world, but the one thing that caught my attention was calling Nessie. I quickly dialed her number and got her on the second ring. "Hello?" Her voice was like and angle and for a brief second I closed my eyes and imagined hearing that voice everyday for the rest of my life. "Hey! It's Jake." "Hey Jacob. Do you have info on kite flying?" "Yeah, it's going to be at First Beach in La Push. Do you need a ride?" I asked. "No the kids and I can walk, but we don't have any kites, do you have extras?" She asked. "Oh, yeah sure I have plenty." I lied. "Cool. What time?" She sang. "11 o'clock. And be sure to bring bathing suits. I think after we are going swimming." "Great. Is my family going to be there?" "No I think it's going to be sunny so, that wouldn't come out. "Okay. I'll see you then." "See you." And she hung up. I got back in my car and drove to buy more kites for them. This was going to be great.

Chapter 5 Renesmee's Point of View

I woke up the next day and the kids and I got ready. Stella put on a one piece bathing suit, Luke put on Cars trunks with a white t shirt. My outfit was a whole different story, I was wearing a green bikini, jean shorts, and a white blouse buttoned up to where the bikini started. I looked at myself in the mirror and wondered why I was wondering if it would impress Jacob. Most men that I had met hadn't listened to what I would say, but only stared at my body, especially my chest. They would ask me out on a date, then realized that I had kids and canceled. End of story. But, with Jacob it was different. He knew that I had Stella and Luke before asking me out on a date, and if it really even was a date. Jacob, though, looked at my face and seemed to care what I was saying. "Are you ready, Mom?" Luke called from downstairs. "Yes, wait one second," I called. I quickly fixed my hair to frame my face. "Hurry!" "I'm coming, I'm coming." And we left the house. We walked for about an hour then arrived at the beach. I saw Jacob in the distance with seven other figure. "Jacob!" Luke and Stella shouted and took off running towards him. Jacob turned his head and when they were close enough both of them jumped in his arms when I made my way to where they were standing. "Hey Luke. Hey Stella. . . . Hi Nessie," Jacob said. "Hey Jacob," I replied. "Do you want to meet my friends?" "Sure." "Nessie this is Paul," Jacob bend down next to my ear and whispered. "Part of my pack." I got the chills and to my dismay he straightened up again and spoke in a normal voice. "His wife and my sister Rachel. And this is their son Jessie and daughter Marrisa." I smiled at them. "Hello, it's so nice to meet you," Rachel said. "It's nice to meet you guys, too." Jacob put down Stella and Luke while they ran off with Jessie and Marries. Jacob put a light hand on my back and led me to meet the three other people. His touch was electric. "Nessie this is Sam, his wife Emily, and their daughter Jordyn." "Hello Nessie," Sam said in a deep voice. "So, Nessie. How are you liking Forks?" Emily asked with a bitter edge. I looked up at Jacob, but he didn't notice it. "It's, er, good." And she gave me a cold smile. "Well, we better go check on the kids. I think that we are going to start kites in a few minutes. Nessie I think that there are some sodas in the cooler and some chips make yourself at home." "Okay thanks." He smiled then ran off into the water with the kids, Paul, and Sam. I walked over to the cooler where Rachel was sitting. I opened the case when I heard her voice. "Don't pay attention to her," Was she talking to me? She wasn't looking at me and she wasn't making any sense. "What?" Rachel turned around in her chair to look at me. "Don't worry about Emily," she said turning back around in her chair. I went and sat down next to her.

"You saw that, huh?" "Please, I'm a woman. We have radar about these things." "Why does she hate me?" "Well, to be fair she doesn't hate you. She hates what Jacob is doing to Leah." Leah, his girlfriend. "Who's Leah?" I asked innocently. Rachel lowered her sunglasses and studied my eyes, then put them back on. "Leah is Jacob's on and off again girlfriend. She is also part of Sam's pack. Not that you didn't know all that already." "Your very good." Rachel smiled. "I'm telling you it's the radar." "So, why is Emily taking it out on me for what Jacob's doing?" "Well, Emily doesn't want Leah to get hurt . . . Again." "Why would Jacob hurt her? And why does Emily care so much?" "Well things have been kind of rough between Jake and Leah lately and Emily is worried that they are going to end it again. Emily cares so much, though, because Leah is her cousin." Jacob and Leah were going to brake up soon? Relief washed through me. "Oh." "Yeah, big oh." "Mommy, look at me look at me!" Luke shouted from the distance standing on Jacob's shoulders, he jumped off, and plunged into the ocean water. "Good job Honey!" I shouted. "Come on Mom!" I looked at Rachel. "Go on. We can talk later. I think I will go calm Emily down." Rachel left and I took off my shorts and blouse. I ran towards the water where Paul, Sam, Jacob, and all the kids were playing. "What are we playing?" I asked and Jacob looked at me. For one second his eyes bulged then he recomposed himself. "We are playing some football. Let's make some teams. Paul, Nessie, Jordyn, and Luke, your a team and the rest of us are one. We lined up and Paul spiked Jordyn the ball. I took off running down the field, but Jordyn panicked and threw it to me. I saw Stella and Jacob charging me. "Run, Nessie! Run!" Paul, Jordyn, and Luke shouted. I ran in the water, but Jacob was gaining on me. Jacob was a few steps behind me when he reached around my waist. I struggled to get loose by kicking my legs, but he hugged my back to his chest and lifted me off of the ground. "Stop it!" I laughed and I let out a shriek. In return I heard Jacob's laugh. Then, he suddenly jumped to his side and dunked us both in the cold ocean water. I came up gasping for water, Jacob saw my stunned face and laughed. I jumped over to him and tackled him sending him under water again. Stella, Marries, and Jordyn ran over and started helping me dunk him over and over. Then, Luke came over and dunked me, Jacob looked up and cheered. "Yeah! Girls verse boys!" He chanted. In the end all of the girls got dunked at least once. I got dunked three times from Luke, twice from Jacob, and once from Paul and Sam. The boys all of the boys got dunked except for Paul. "Get him!" Jacob yelled and everyone charged him, Jacob was the one to

dunk him in the end. Jacob laughed, "Okay, who wants to start kites." All of the kids cheered and we made our way up the beach. "Mom! Mom! We played football, then we dunked everyone, and now we are flying kites!" Jessie shouted to Rachel. "Wow, honey! I will go get them from the trunk." Rachel ran off and came back from Jacob's car with eight big kites. Rachel gave one to each of the kids, saving three for herself, Emily, and I. Sam went over to help Jordyn and Emily, and Paul went to help Rachel, Marrisa, and Jessie. I saw Jacob walking over to Stella and Luke. "Okay guy, now when I go start to unravel the string by twisting the handle." Jacob stepped back 20 feet and held the kite to his chest. " Okay ready?" "Ready!" Luke shouted back. "Alright. One, two . . .THREE! GO!" Jacob shoved the kite off of his chest and into the air. At same time Luke unraveled the twine and the kite caught the wind. The kites soared above us and Luke stared in wonder at it proud of his accomplishment. Jacob moved over to Stella and did the same, next he came to me. "Your turn." I handed over the kite to him. "What are you doing?" He asked. "I thought you were supposed to do that thing you do." "No way, this is part of kite flying. Here take this." Jacob handed me back the kite. "And walk a little down that way." I did and he counted backwards. I threw up the kite and it flew right back down to the ground. I tried it five more times with failure. "Here let's try this." Jacob tied the kite to a piece of driftwood and walked over to me. "What are you-" Jacob hushed me. "Trust me." He came behind me and reached his arms from behind my body to grab the kite in my hands. My heart started racing and Jacob smiled. Jacob balanced his chin on my shoulder and counted backwards. "One, two, three." He sent the kite flying into the air, it caught the wind, and soared in the sky. "That was amazing Jacob." I turned around and he was standing a few feet away from me looking up at the kites. I instinctively grabbed his hand and then cursed myself when looked down at me in surprise. I tried to think of a way to pull it off. "Come on, Jacob!" I took off running down the beach to where the string was. I didn't want to let go of his hand so towed him along. He soon recovered from his shock and ran ahead of me. "Those hot dogs were a-ma-zing, Jacob!" Luke spread out the word. "Well, thank you, Luke. My dad thought me how." Jacob, Paul, Rachel, Marries, Jessie, Luke, Stella, and I were sitting around a campfire on the beach chowing down on hot dogs, chips, and soda. I gazed into the horizon and watched the sun go down. "You need to go," Jacob stated. I turned around and saw him staring in my face. I bit my lip. "You don't mind?" To my relief, Jacob laughed. "Of course not. Luke and Stella probably need some sleep." We looked over at Stella who was curled up in a ball on a lawn chair already asleep. Jacob and I laughed.

Jacob stood and gently picked Stella up and cradled her in his arms, while I grabbed Luke's hand. Once we reached Jacob's car, Luke jumped in as I went over to get Stella from Jacob. He lightly placed her body on my arms. Our arms barely touched and an electric spark gazed down my body. His armed radiated heat, his arms and hands were soft, but sturdy, and I found myself pausing. I looked up and our eyes locked for the briefest moment and I felt a strange intensity in his eyes. I was used to men staring at me in the street or grocery stores with lust written all over their face. With Jacob, though, his stare was softer and sincere, but his stare scared me more. I scrutinized his look and behind his cover, deep in his eyes, was there a hint of doubt? He was hiding something from me that was for sure, but what? Then, I let my thoughts betray me, was it possible that he felt the same way that I did about him? What was I feeling about him? No, that was impossible. Jacob had a girlfriend, he didn't fell the same about me. But, the way he reacted when Luke and Stella were playing football and flying catch . . . I looked down shaking my head. This was ridiculous. I buckled Stella in the back, Jacob and I hoped in the front. Once we were driving down the highway, I spoke. "You're so hot." "Thank you," Jacob laughed. "You know what I mean," I giggled. "It's a wolf thing." "What else is a wolf thing?" "Well, before we turn, we start shaking. We have to run with an extra set of clothes because when we changed into wolf form it destroys them. We are naturally muscular and tall. We also eat like pigs," I laughed and he joined me. "Our colors of our fur represent our personalities." "What color is your fur?" "Mine is a reddish brown." "Why?" "Some of my pack thinks that it is because I am courageous and confidant or a risk taker. Sam's pack likes to think it is because I'm competitive and independent. Your family thinks it is because I have a short fuse or impulsive. You take your pick." I processed it. "Okay what else?" "Okay, let's see. The length of my hair is always the same length of my fur. And, when me and my pack are in wolf form . . . We can hear each other's thoughts, kind of like your dad. But, only my pack, we can't hear Sam's pack because they are separated from us." "Why do you have two packs?" "'Cause Sam phased first he became the leader and when I changed I didn't want to become part of any of it. I was stuck though and Sam gave me the option of leading or not and I chose not. But, when Bel- your mom, was having you Sam made some decisions that I didn't agree with so, I left. Then, Seth and Leah followed me. When everything was over we just decided to keep it that way." Jacob shrugged, but I noticed that he winced when he said Leah's name. "Shortly after, Embry and Quil joined me then Paul and soon enough Sam was all alone with the new werewolves. So, we just decided that Sam would train the newbies and after a year with him they would come join my

pack and help me do the dirty work." "What is the dirty work?" Jacob took a deep breathe. "Hunting vampires." "Wait, what?" "You see, not all vampires are like your family. Actually, there are only a few others are like your family. They don't all drink only animals blood." "Oh." "Oh? I just told you horrifying news and you say oh?" Jacob looked over to me in the dark and we laughed. "But, also, if we stop phasing for a certain period of time then we stop forever." "Why is Leah the only girl werewolf?" "I dunno." And he was quiet for the rest of the way home. We pulled up my drive and we both saw Rosalie's car in the darkness. Very faintly, I almost missed it, but I saw Jacob frown and then immediately regain his composure. "I would invite you in, but-." I started. "Nawh, it's cool. I get it." I reached for my door when I heard his voice again in the darkness. "Listen Nessie-" I looked at him and liked the way his voice curled around my name. "Yes?" "Well, Paul and Rachel were wanting to see this movie with me in the theatres and I was wondering if you wanted to go on Sunday." "Yeah, me and the kids are free." "Actually, I was thinking just us this time." My heart pounded. "Okay." Jacob smiled. We hopped out of the car. I woke up Luke, grabbed my hand, and I nearly dragged him to Jacob. Jacob carefully set Stella down in my arms, careful not to let our skin touch again. "Thank you, for everything," I whispered in the darkness. "No problem." I turned to leave when Jacob called out. "Hey, so I will pick you up Sunday." "Sunday." Seven days to long. He flashed me a smile and drove off when I entered my house. I walked in the living room and saw two gorgeous vampires sitting on my couch. Rosalie flipped back her blonde hair when I came in and Alice shot me a winning smile. "Wait one sec," I said. I walked upstairs to put Luke in Stella in their pajamas and tucked them in when they were already half asleep. I walked back downstairs to Alice and Rosalie. "Hey guys! What's up?" I sat down next to Rosalie on the couch. "Oh nothing Alice and I just decided to pay you a visit." Rosalie neatened my hair with her icy fingers, almost child like. "Well, Ed- your dad, thinks that it would be best if we had someone here at all times. Just to keep you safe, incase visitors make an unexpected visit here," Alice sang. "Why didn't he come then?" That seemed to shock Alice for only a second, then she regained her composure. "Well, he didn't . . . Want to . . . Rush your relationship." "Oh." "Well he doesn't know how to exactly act around you." We sat in silence for a minute. "Nessie . . . Do you mind if I go see the kids?" Alice asked.

"Sure, but they're sleeping right now." "Of course, I promise not to wake them." And she was gone. "Sorry about her," Rosalie chimed. "She doesn't know how to deal with this situation." "I thought that she could see the future." "She can, but it's complicated. It is easy for her to see the future of what she has been. She has never been a wolf, for example, so she can't see them. And she has never been half vampire and human so she can only catch fragments of your future. Most of the time when your around she is trying to figure you out. It is very difficult for her to read you." "Oh, I never thought of that. Rosalie, there was something that I was wondering, since I'm half vampire, am I supposed to-" "Drink blood. Yes and no. When Bella was having you and when you were born you seemed to like it." I shivered and she continued in perfect posture. "Do you feel a burn in your throat?" I shook my head. "I remember it faintly from years ago, but I don't feel it now." "Hmm, that is interesting. Obviously you don't need it to survive, Carlisle will find this interesting." "What else am I supposed to do?" "Well, have you noticed how you have stopped changing from a few years ago?" I nodded. "Well, you are going to stay like this forever. You mature much faster than normal children and your supposed to, then stop and live forever. Sort of like the werewolves and us." "So, the wolves and you stop changing and live forever?" Rosalie nodded. "And do you know how vampires sparkle in the sunlight? Well, you've noticed the difference between you and the other children in the sun, how you have almost a glow? Well that is the reason." "Rosalie, if I am half vampire that means that my kids are quarter vampire?" Rose nodded. "Then, would they live forever, too?" I wasn't sure if I wanted to know her answer. "Well, Carlisle has and interesting theory on that. He thinks that Luke and Stella will mature at the same rate as their peers. But, when they reach teenage years they will stop and live with us. It's not a for- sure thing, but I believe him." Rosalie smiled. "There is one thing I was curious about. Do you know how some vampires have special abilities? Well, you do, too." My body went cold. "You see, you can let people know your thoughts by just touching them." No, no, no, no, no. "Can you still do it?" Panic set in, and fear ran thought my body. "I can't," I cried. Shock crossed Rosalie's face and she set and icy hand on my back, confused. "I just can't. When I did that to Renee and Phil they got mad, Renee and Phil told me to never do it again. They hit me for it, they hit me hard." I felt tears slipping over my eyes and rolling down my cheeks. "Then, I went to school and did it to my kindergarten teacher and she hit me. She said that I was a demon child, and that I should never do it or else I would go to hell," I controlled myself and regained my posture. "Anyways, I was hurt and so I promised myself that I would never do it again. I don't even know how to do it anymore." Rosalie was a statue next to me, her hand still on my back. "I'm sorry." That was all she said and the tone of her voice made her believable. I looked up and her eyes were staring down the hall facing away from me.

"You went to a normal school? How did you do that with out noticing . . .?" "How quickly I grew? Well, I looked about like a young seven year old then. But, Renee wanted me to experience what school was like. She took me out for all of elementary and middle school. By then, I looked like a normal high schooler and I was the same age as everyone else. So, she put me in high school. When she died though I dropped out to take care of Luke and Stella." I yawned, Rosalie sighed. "You should probably go to bed, it's been a long day." "I'm not tired," I protested, but it came out as mumble jumble. The last thing I remembered was crawling under my covers and letting the darkness engulf my with two vampires keeping watch downstairs.

Chapter 6 Renesmee's Point of View I woke up and walked downstairs to find Emmett scowering through my refrigerator. "Hey, I thought vampires didn't eat food." Emmett looked over to me and smiled. "I don't, but you do. Esme had me drop off some groceries." "Remind me to thank her." I walked over to get a cup of coffee from the corner. "Will do." "Where's Alice and Rosalie?" "At school." "What?" Emmett looked at my face and laughed. "No not hunting at a school. We go to school." "Why? Haven't you already finished school?" "That's what I said. They just don't get it," he said exasperated. "They think that it's what normal people do and people would talk if we didn't. That's why Carlisle works as a doctor, we go to school, and Esme restores antiques." "How long have you been in school?" "85 years." My mouth fell open and my coffee cup slipped through my hands. It almost hit the floor, but Emmett reached out and caught it before it could crash. He raised it back up to me. "How old are you?" "Well let's see, it's 2025 right? Then I would be 110." "Wow." "Yeah, it looks like you can go to school with us, work with Carlisle or Esme, or just stay home." "When do the elementary schools start?" I asked. "Yesterday." "Oh shot! I need to get them registered!" After getting dressed Emmett, the kids, and I raced down to the elementary school, in Emmett's giant Jeep, which impressed Luke quite a bit. We walked into the brightly colored office. The walls were bright blue with fish

swimming on them, a long yellow counter, and a line of desks behind them. "Excuse me," I said. An old lady looked up from one of the desks. She stood revealing a floor length brown skirt under a turtle neck sweater. "Can I help you? Oh hello Emmett, it's nice to see you." She pushed back a strad of gray hair into her bun and fixed her glasses. "Hello, Mrs. Anderson. My cousin, Renesmee," Emmett placed a hand on my shoulder, "will be staying with us for a while. I was wondering if my nice and nephew, Stella and Luke, could start preschool and kindergarten." "Of course." Mrs. Anderson reached under the counter and handed me a packet. "Just fill this out and they can start right away." Twenty minutes and seven papers later I waved Luke and Stella off to their first days of school with little backpacks and lunchboxes in their hands, thank goodness I went school shopping early this summer. Emmett and I were driving to Fork's High School when I burst into tears. "Whoa, hey. You're not crying are you? Are you alright?" Emmett asked. " "I-I'm . . . O-o-okay," I stammered. Emmettlayed a hand on my back. "It's just that they are so young. I don't want them to leave." We were in the parking lot now. "Hey, they will never leave you. A mother like you, why would they want to?" "You mean that?" "Absolutely." I smiled and put down the mirror from the ceiling to fix my face. Emmett and I walked into the office. It was painted a deep blue color, and like the elementary school, it had a long counter and some desks. However, there were many doors and hallways connecting to the claustrophobic room. "Well, hello Emmett. How are you? You know that you have to have a parent to sign you in. Who's your friend?" She smiled at me. "Miss Peters, this is my cousin, Renesmee. Ness will be staying with us for a while and she would like to get enrolled with us." "Oh, well isn't that exciting? How old are you Renesmee?" "Eighteen." "Oh good that means that you can register yourself." Miss Peters pulled a computer over and started typing. "What grade?" "Junior," Emmet answered for me when I hesitated. "What school did you come from?" "She was home schooled," Emmett answered again. Miss Peters stopped to look at Emmett for a brief moment then went back to typing. When she finished she handed me a packet to fill out my classes. "Emmett, you should probably get to class." "Carlisle gave me strict orders to stay with Ness." Miss Peters processed that, let out a sigh, and went back to her desk. As soon as we sat down, Emmett took the packet from me. "Hey what are you doing?" I whispered. "Filling you in classes with us." He was done within seconds. "Sign here." I did and Emmett put it on the counter. Miss Peters seemed shocked at how quickly we were done. She picked up the packet, copied it, typed it into the computer, and handed me my schedule.

"You kids get on to class now, here's a map of the school," She handed me a sheet of paper. Emmett and I got a pass and left for our class. "So what classes do I have?" I asked. "Pre cal with me, French two with Rosalie and Alice, honors English with Edward, chemistry with Bella, Edward, and Seth, gym with me and Jasper, then history with Jacob." "What grades are we in?" "Me, you, Edward, Bella, and Rose and juniors. Alice, Jasper, Jacob, and Seth are seniors." We walked up to the math building and Emmett held our math class's door open for me. I walked into a room full of teenagers and suddenly felt nervous. I heard an in take of breathe when I walked in the room and I tried not to look at their faces. "Mr. Cook, this is my cousin, Renesmee. She's staying with us so she's going to go to this school to." "Well, well, well, isn't this a surprise." Mr. Cook lowered his glasses down his nose and I felt uncomfortable. He was wearing a checkered shirt with a beer belly and jeans underneath, he was in his late forties, by the looks of it, with gray, balding hair. Emmett handed him our passes, he looked at my schedule, and gave me my seat next to Emmett. "Now I want you all to be nice to Renesmee." "Call me Nessie." "Nessie," Mr. Cook said and he went right back to the lesson. After class, Emmett walked me to my next one. "How long were you in school?" "I was home schooled until high school because my growing slowed. Then, I dropped out my sophomore year to take care of Luke. I never got the chance to go back." I explained. We arrived at the language building and then the door to my next class. "Alright good luck, remember to tell your teacher that your new." "Thanks Emmett." But, he was already gone. I took a deep breathe and opened the door. I entered a room similar to my math class, white brick walls, blue carpet, and a white board. I walked over to the teachers desk. The man was messing with a pile of papers with his back turned to me. I cleared my throat, "Excuse me." The teacher turned around and dropped some of the papers. "Ah yes?" "I'm new and I think I have your class." "Oh yes, I'm Misour Martin." I handed him my pass and he assigned me in my seat. Rosalie and Alice walked in the door right when I sat down. "Nessie!" Alice chimed. The danced to the seats next to me. "How did you-" I started. "I saw Emmett" Alice stated. "Oh that will take some getting used to." Alice laughed. "What are your classes?" Rosalie asked. I took out my schedule. "Pre cal with Cook. Next hour, English with Ramsey. Chemistry with Taylor. Gym with Whickham. Last is history with Kay." "We only have one class together," Rosalie and Alice frowned. Class started and I took notes while Rosalie and Alice stared at the walls. The time escaped and before I knew it the bell rang. Rosalie and Alice were

silent as they walked me to my next class, I guess they both knew that it would be interesting to see Edward's reaction. When we reached the door, I turned to Rose and Alice. "Thanks for walking me." "No problem," they both said and they planted a kiss on my cheek. "Good luck," Rosalie whispered and they were gone. I walked through the door to see Edward talking with Mrs. Ramsey. "Ah, Nessie. There you are. Nessie this is Mrs. Ramsey, Mrs. Ramsey this is my cousin." "Pleased to meet you." We shook hands. Mrs. Ramsey is letting you sit next to me." Edward lead me to our seats in the back of the room. Once we sat he was silent. I was the first to break the silence. "You know it doesn't have to be this way." He didn't look at my face, I figured he was reading my mind, but I had to say it anyway. "We can start out by being . . . Friends." He looked at me with deep pain in his eyes. "Friends?" He asked. "Yeah, I don't have to be like a long lost daughter who just came back or just a distant acquaintance. Let's just be friends." "Okay," Edward smiled crookedly. "Although I do have conditions. I want you to pay attention to my words not my mind. And I swear if you tell anyone about any embarrassing thoughts, vampire or not, I will mess you up." Edward laughed. "I don't call you Dad or anything, I will call you Edward. And don't try to act like my dad and tell me stuff that I shouldn't do. But, I do want you and Bella to be like grandparents to Luke and Stella." I finished. A smile broke out across Edward's face. "Do we have a deal?" I held out my hand. "Deal," Edward shook my hand. "So what's your story?" I asked. He knew immediately what I meant. "I was born in Chicago in 1901," Edward whispered. "I was diagnosed with Spanish Influenza when I was 17, Carlisle found me, and changed me. Simple." He shrugged. "Who came first to you and Carlisle?" "Esme, Rosalie, Emmett, Jasper and Alice, then Bella." "Jasper and Alice at the same time?" "Carlisle didn't change them. Alice and Jasper came from two different covens." I dropped it. "So, vampires are nothing like the way they are in the movies?" Edward smiled, "No." "So what your saying is you don't turn into a bat?" I joked. Edward broke out into a roar of laughter. "No, bats, no coffins, no creepy castles, no cobwebs." I put on a fake frown. "Who knew being a vampire could be so boring?" Edward chuckled. "Do you have any rules? Like a code or something that no one can break?" Edward's face remained calm, but in his eyes was panic. "There is a group of vampires in Italy called the Volturi, they regulate and carry out the rules." His voice was icy cold. "What are the rules?" "We can't show ourselves in the sunlight, know humans can know about

us, and we can't eat large quantities in a short amount of time in one area." His voice was still hard. I changed the subject. "Where did you go, you know, when I was little?" "We stayed in Northern England." "Oh," I said. Then to my surprise the bell rang, I hadn't even realized that class had started. Edward and I walked to our next class together. "Nessie!" Seth shouted when we walked through the door. "I didn't know you wanted to go to Forks High." Seth walked up to me and gave me an awkward hug, "Yeah, Emmett signed me up this morning." I saw Edward walk over to Bella and whisper something in her ear, to low for any one to hear, out of the corner of my eye. "Where are Luke and Stella?" Seth asked. "Kindergarten and Preschool." Bella walked up to me. "I'm so glad that you joined us." Bella flashed me a perfect white smile framed by perfect pink, full lips. "Uh, thanks. I'm glad to be here," I said awkwardly. "Edward told me about your . . . Conditions. So lets just start over, hi I'm Bella." She held out her perfectly manicured nails. I shook her icy cold, pale skin. "I'm Renesmee." The bell rang for us to go to our seats. "Come on Nessie, you can sit next to me." Seth lead me to the back of the room and we took our seats as our Biology teacher, Mr. Taylor, went on. When the bell rang, we all walked to lunch where the rest of the Cullens and Jacob were sitting. "Hey Ness," Jacob called. He waved a hand for me to sit next to him. "Hey guys." Alice passed her tray of food from the other side of the table to me. "So, how are you liking your first day here?" Jacob asked. "It's okay." "Just okay?" Jacob teased. "I miss my kids." Jacob was suddenly quite, understanding. "What are your next classes?" "Gym with Whickham then History with Kay." "Hey you have history with me!" Jacob broke out into a wide grin. "Yeah, Emmett signed me up for my classes." Jacob glanced at Emmett, but I couldn't see his face. Edward whispered something in Emmett's ear, but I didn't catch it. "Okay guys, lets see 'em," Alice smiled and placed a stack full of ripped papers on the table. "What's that?" I asked. "Phone numbers. Every time we switch schools, the first day we try to get as many phone numbers from the opposite sex. Whoever gets the most wins." "What do you get if you win?" "Whatever you want, but the others have to split the bill." "You all are insane." "Yeah we know. So who wants to go first?" Alice asked. "Wait!" I exclaimed. "Can we wait one more day, so that I can have a

chance?" Alice frowned. "Sure," Rosalie replied. "Alice, that way you can get even more." That seemed to cheer Alice up. "Okay, but can I at least know what everyone wants?" "Fremont's First & Second Expeditions 1842-3-4 book with the original map," Jasper said. "Steinway and Sons grand piano," Edward exclaimed. "The original Pride and Prejudice book by Jane Austen," Bella said. " A Maybach Landaulet car," Rosalie squealed. "A red Ferrari," Jacob cheered. "Arm weights," Emmet added. I didn't even want to know how heavy. "Dressgoddess's old prom dress, the one with the diamonds," Alice squeaked. "What do you want Nessie?" "I want a house in the woods surrounding the main house, just like all of you. So that Stella, Luke, and I don't have to drive all the way over to your house to see you. I want my house to be across from Edward and Bella's, but next to the wolves house," I stated. Everyone seemed shocked at my answer, but Edward smirked and JAcob broke out into a wide grin. After a few seconds of silence ALice finally spoke. "Do we have a deal?" Alice asked. Everyone agreed in union when the bell rang. All of a sudden Emmett, Jasper, and Jacob were the only ones left at the table. "Off to gym," Jasper said. "I better head to class, I will see you next block Nessie?" Jacob asked. "Of course," I replied. Jacob shot me one last smile before he got up and left. Somehow his smile now was more romantic. I somehow found myself being mesmirized by his white toothy grin. I turned around and watched him walk out of the lunch building. I couldn't help, but stare at his amazing figure. His muscular arms and back complimented by his light blue shirt. His short, black hair chopped off at the nape of his tan neck. "Earth to Nessie." Emmett waved his hand in front of my eyes. "I'm sorry, what?" I asked. "I said 'Are you ready to head to gym'?" "Oh yeah, sure." Emmett muttered something under his breath that I didn't catch, but Jasper seemed to think it was funny. When Emmett and Jasper were walking to gym with me, I noticed the boys football team huddled around in front of the gym building. "I am so going to win this, you guys go ahead. I will meet you inside." When they left I fixed my hair and took a deep breath. I can do this, I can do this, I need this, I repeated in my head. I started walking towards the football team with my binder full of papers on my hip. Just when I was a few steps away, I faked a trip and dropped my binder right in front of the boys. The football team looked at the papers by their feet then at my face. A few of them gasped and I took it as a good sign and played on with the charade. "Oh no," I gasped. Then, all of the boys dropped down and picked up my school work for me. "Oh, you guys don't have to do that." "No, no, it's fine. We want to," one boy said. He a muscular figure and a

cute face, but he was nothing compared to my family. "Well, thank you all. You guys are life savers." I twirled my hair in between my fingers, so cliche. "We haven't seen you around before, are you new?" Another boy asked. "Yeah, I just moved here from Florida." "Wow, it must be so different here." "Yeah, it's kind of hard to make friends here because it's such a big school," I lied. "Oh, well," One of the boys pulled out a piece of paper. "If you need someone to show you around, then just give me a call," a muscular boy said. He handed me a slip of paper with a phone number and name on it. "Yeah me too!" Within four minutes I walked away with all of the football teams' numbers, sixty- two slips of paper. During gym, I spent little time with Jasper and Emmett because we were all working for our present. I collected fifteen more slips in gym and another five on my way to history. In history, my teacher sat me down next to Jacob, thankfully. "Hey." "Hey, Ness." "What have you been up to?" I asked. "Nothing much, what about you?" "I was just getting phone numbers for the phone I don't have." Jacob laughed, but it was true. "How many do you have?" I asked. "Thirty two," Jacob said with a gloating tone. "Do you know how much the others have?" "Nawh, but I do know that you need to watch out for Rosalie and Bella, they're the ones who get all the attention." Jacob frowned, but I found that hard to believe with his gorgeous face and amazing figure. "Why? How many did you get?" "Eighty two," I said nonchalantly. Jacob jumped in his seat, his hands started shaking, his eyes were closed, and he took a deep breath in less than a second. I don't think he knew that I noticed his reaction because he went on like nothing was wrong. "I didn't even know that many people went here," his voice was barely above a whisper. I needed to change the subject quickly. "So tell me something. So, when wolves imprint they instantly fall in love?" "No, they don't exactly fall in love it can just be love. But, they are the most important thing in their world. It can be a big brother love, best friend love, or in love." "You sound like you know from experience." Jacob shrugged. "I can hear other people from the packs' thoughts." "Do the imprinter and the imprintee always end up together?" "No," pain crossed Jacob's face and I wondered why. Jacob was suddenly quiet. Just then, class started. Every couple of minutes I would notice out of the corner of my eye Jacob glance at me. I would do the same. I noticed his slumped body in his seat was some how very attractive, the way he crossed his arms that made his muscles flex. I looked at his face and saw very faint wrinkles from smiling around his mouth and eyes, it would be much to faint for a normal human to see, but for my half vampire eyes I noticed.

What the heck? Wasn't I just a 'normal human' a few days ago? Was I ever a 'normal human'? I ighed in frustration. Jacob looked at me almost instantaneously when I looked over and our eyes locked. His were so beautiful, they were dark and mysterious, but some how deep. Jacob looked down at his lap, then I looked away, embarrassed. The bell rang for class to get out. I stood up when Jacob grabbed my bag for me and carried it all the way to the car. "Nessie! I can pick up the kids with you! Hop in!" Rosalie called from a red convertible. "I will see you at the house," I told Jacob. I grabbed my bag then did the impossible. I reached up his six foot seven inch body and kissed him on his cheek. It was a little hard for my five foot two inch stance, but I did it. I instantly regretted it when his face became a mask of shock. I quickly walked away with my head down, ignoring the seven pairs of eyes on me. I hopped in Rosalie's car and we left before I could count to ten. "So . . ." Rosalie said. "So?" "That was some kiss." I groaned, "Can we please not talk about it?" "Hey, I'm not the one who got imprinted on," Rosalie stated. "Neither did I," I said. Rosalie looked at me with raised eyebrows. "What?" "You didn't know? Jacob imprinted on you when you were a baby." Rosalie looked back at the road. "No he didn't. He couldn't have. Could he?" "He did." "That's impossible, though." "Not for him." We pulled up in front of the elementary school. I got out and slammed my door shut. "Mommy?" I heard Luke ask from behind me. I turned around to see my little man running towards me. When he got close enough he jumped into my arms. "Hi, Luke! Did you have fun on your first day?" "Yes, but I missed you." "Aw, Luke I missed you, too." "Mommy, Mommy, look what I drew for you!" Stella called from behind me. I turned around to see Stella waving a piece of paper in the air. I set Luke down and picked Stella up. She handed me the paper with scribbles all over it. "Wow, it's beautiful, honey!" I kissed her forehead. "It's you!" " That was so sweet of you." I took their hands and walked back to the car. "Who is in the car?" Luke asked. "Aunt Rosalie," I answered. "Aunt Rose, Aunt Rose!" Stella and Luke cheered. Rosalie turned around as I buckled them in the car. "Hey guys, how was your first day?" "Good, we painted pictures today," Stella cheered. "Wow, I bet yours was pretty." "Yeah it is."

"Luke was did you do today?" "Math," Luke grumbled. Rosalie and I laughed. We arrived at the house a few minutes later. I went inside and Esme took the kids to a different room so that they could do homework. I went into the living room where my family, Seth, and Jacob were. I couldn't bare look at Jacob's face. "Seth can I speak to you outside, please?" I asked. Everyone looked curiously at Edward. "It's nothing, just need to clear something's up with Seth." Once we were outside and far away from the house Seth turned to me. "So what's up?" He asked. "I was just wondering . . ." I paused. "Can, you know, a werewolf fall out of . . . Imprint?" I whispered the last word. Seth stopped in his tracks and looked at me. "Who told you?" I opened my mouth to protest, but I was caught. "Rosalie. I figured since you could hear his thoughts that you would know." "I can only hear his thoughts when we are both wolves." "I know that, isn't that enough?" "I don't know you'll have to ask him yourself." "But, Seth-" "It's between the two of you. I don't want to get involved." "Seth," I whined as he turned to walk away. "You can at least tell me if he still is, so that I know what I have to work with." Seth didn't stop walking, but he yelled over his shoulder. "He still is." Then, Seth muttered to himself. And then he mummbled soomething to himself to low for me to make out, but it sounded like, "if you only knew."

Chapter 7 Renesmee's Point of View I stood there dumbfounded for who knows how long. I suddenly realized that Luke and Stella would be wondering where I was, so I took a deep breathe and started back for the house. When I entered everyone bombarded me with questions. "Guys, guys,

guys. Calm down. Where are Stella and Luke?" "In the kitchen," Bella replied. I headed down the hall way to where Stella and Luke were eating cookies and drinking milk. "It's getting late kids. Let's go home for bed." "But, Mommy they made us cookies," Stella whined. "I know, honey. Finish that one off and we'll go." "What happened Nessie? Edward won't tell us what happened," Emmett asked in a protective tone. "Nothing happened, I just asked Seth a question. You can ask Rose all about it," I said. Everyone looked at Rose and she had that look on her face like she was caught eating cookies out of a cookie jar. Everyone left me alone and went to Rosalie. Luke and Stella finished their cookies when Alice offered to drive me home. When we were halfway to my house, and Luke and Stella were asleep, Alice broke the silence. "I know what happened," Alice said almost to herself. She didn't say anything else until we were in my driveway. "Do you know that I can't see werewolves, and your future is only dim to me? Like I can see some parts, but they are blurry?" "Yes." "Your future disappeared," Alice simply stated. I said thank you and carried Luke and Stella up to their beds. I went to bed after I took a shower. I fell asleep under the covers of the warm blankets. In my dream, I was standing alone in a white endless space. "Mommy?" I heard from behind me. I turned around to see Luke and Stella standing in their pajamas. I smiled, "Hey kids." Before I could take a step towards them I heard Edward call my name. "Renesmee?" I looked in the other direction to see Edward standing in front of the rest of the Cullens. And again, before I could walk to them I heard Jacob call out. "Ness?" Jacob was standing in front of his wolf pack. All of my loved ones were spread apart from each other. They were all calling my name and holding out their hands to me, but none of them moved. I heard a crack beneath my feet and saw that the ground was falling apart. I sprinted over to Luke and Stella, but it seemed like they were getting further and further away. I reached out for them just as the crack in the ground moved to me. The ground fell apart and I was suddenly falling deeper and deeper in the darkness. "Mommy?" I opened my eyes in a panic to find Stella shaking my shoulder. I looked over at my clock on the side table, one o'clock in the morning. "What's wrong Stella?" "I don't like the thunder," Stella whined. Just when she said it thunder roared in the night sky like the crack of a whip. Stella started shaking. "It's okay, it's okay," I said as I picked her up and placed her under the covers in my bed. I hushed her and patted down her hair. "Mommy?" "Yes?" "Who is our family?"

I reached over to my nightstand and grabbed the old photograph that Renee had. I pointed to Alice, Jasper, Emmett, and Rosalie. "These are our aunts and uncles." I pointed to Esme and Carlisle. "These are your great grandparents and my regular grandparents." I pointed to Edward and Bella last. "And, these are your grandparents and my parents." Stella seemed to process that. "Mommy, are our family special?" "Yes, they are different. Our family is the good guys, it's complicated and I will tell you more when you and Luke are older, but for right now yes our family is not like other families." "Is Jacob special?" "Yeah, but him and his friends are a different kind of special." "Do you like Jacob, Mommy?" I froze, why is my three year old asking me this? "I don't know." It was true I didn't know if I liked him or not, but really I just didn't know what else to say. "Well, I like him," Stella stated. "You do?" "Hmm-hm." Stella layed her hand on my arm and I cuddled her close. I soon fell asleep with an angel in my arms. I woke up and remembered what happened. I turned over to reach for Stella, but she wasn't there. The clock read six in the morning. Great time for school. I found Stella and Luke downstairs watching cartoons. I quickly rushed to get them ready for the day, then I worked on myself. When it was time to leave I opened the front door and standing in the drive way was my car and Jacob. "What's this all about?" I asked. "Jacob!" The kids shouted and ran to give him a hug. He bent down to their level and scooped them up in his arms. "I fixed your car." "Thanks, I didn't know you were good with cars." Jacob make a nervous chuckle. "Yeah, I'm sort'a a mechanic, at least from my garage." "Well that was really sweet of you. How much do I owe you?" I pulled out my wallet from my purse. Jacob stopped me. "No, no charge." "Come on! How much?" "Well, I won't take it." We stared at each other for a few second. "We are going to be late Mom." Luke said "We can just miss school." Stella replied. "Alright, let's go to school." I said, Stella complained, but Luke seemed satisfied. I drove the kids to school with Jacob in the passenger's seat next to me. Once we dropped them off, Jacob finally broke the silence. "So what was the whole thing with Seth yesterday?" "You don't know?" "No, he refused to phase." I made a mental note to thank him. "Oh, it was nothing I just had a question about werewolves that I wouldn't feel comfortable talking to you about."

"What was it?" "I told you I don't feel comfortable," I laughed. We arrived at school a little later. "Thanks again for my car." Jacob just nodded. I hopped out and was about to walk to my next hour when Jacob grabbed my arm. "About the . . . Kiss yesterday . . .," Jacob trailed off. "Oh, yeah about that. It was just a thank you for everything," I lied. Jacob's face changed to something that I couldn't recognize. "Listen, I better get to my next hour. I don't want to be late." "Oh, right," he smiled, back to his old self. "Well, I will see you at lunch?" "Of course." Jacob left to his next class and I hit up the boys soccer team and basketball team to just make sure that I won the bet. "Hey Emmett," I said as I sat down a couple minutes later in Pre Calculus. Emmett made a kissing face. I slapped him in the arm. "Stop it." He just broke out into a roar of laughter. The day went by extra slow and it was a little awkward with everyone because of the kiss. But, to my surprise it wasn't awkward at all with Jacob and Bella. Now, sitting at lunch Alice finally spoke. "Alright, let's see who won." Everyone pulled out big stacks of torn paper, Bella's and Rosalie's were the biggest. Alice pouted a little bit. "Twenty three," Alice whispered. She sat back down and slouched in her chair. "Thirty," Edward said with his eyes on Bella. "Fourty," Bella said. "Twelve," Jasper spoke. "Thirty five," Emmett said. "Thirty nine," Jacob said. "Fifty," Rosalie said proud of herself. I was the only one who hadn't gone and I was shocked, I already won. Edward laughed, I guess I forgot about the mid reading thing. "No it's okay," Edward whispered. "Just tell us what you got," Rosalie sounded impatient. I pulled my purse on the table and dumped all of the contents on the lunch table. My family, Jacob, and Seth, except for Edward, watching in surprise as all of the contents were slips of paper. "One hundred six." "Um, wow," I didn't see who said it. "When do you want your house built?" Alice sounded angry. "As soon as possible, and I want you, Bella, and Rosalie help me decorate it," I said. "Yay!" Alice cheered up. "Oh and your house is ready now." Alice clapped her hands. "What?" "Yeah, Edward and Jacob built it overnight. You know with their speed powers." "Why they didn't know that I won yet," I looked at them in wonder. They both had a guilty look on their faces. "We wanted to make this transition as smooth as possible for Luke, Stella, and you," Edward answered. "I don't know what to say. Thank you," I got up and gave Edward a hug. I walked back over to Jacob. He pushed back from the table, Jacob grabbed me

in a bear hug. "Thank you so much." I reluctantly pulled away. "Thank you all. Can we go see it?" "Sure," Edward said. We all ditched the rest of our classes and I took Luke and Stella out of school. We all arrived in front of a family sized country home. There was a porch with white rocking chairs in front, a garden, and a little dirt path to the door. I ran up the steps and opened to door into a glorious living room. It was decorated with a white couch and tons of green pillows. There was a white carpet on the floor and a coffee table and book shelve were a light wood. I walked into an open kitchen, which had white cabinets, gray countertops, and a giant refrigerator that could feed and army, with stainless steel appliances. I proceeded into the dining room that had a layed back country style. It had wooden chairs and navy blue cushions. The breakfast room had a circular table with iron chairs and a warm color of brown to it. Stella's room was the perfect little girls room with pink, green, and white. Luke's room was decorated as a fifties gas station with an old car bed. My room was decorate in white with and elegant bed frame and a table and chairs. When I went into my bathroom I instantly noticed that Alice had put in a closet for my clothes that was bigger than most of the bedrooms and that was only the clothes not even the hoes included, they got their own closet. "Mommy, what is this place?" Stella asked. I looked at her with tears in my eyes. "Our new home." I felt the big drops of water roll down my cheeks. I looked over at my family who were all standing in the doorway. "Thank you so much," I said to them. I went and hugged the person closest to me, Jacob. I cried into his chest and he held me patiently, his arms around my body. I felt him bend down and kiss my hair. I left Jacob to hug everybody else. And I learned that Esme flew in antiques from all around the world, Alice shopped in hundreds of different stores to get our outfits, Rosalie and Bella went to several different stores to get the finishing details, Edward found a selection of different music to store in the house, Carlisle paid for artwork from around the world, and Jasper, Emmett, and Jacob built the house. It was amazing to me of how genuine and kind everyone was to me after only a few days of knowing each other. Yet I felt like I had known them for years, this is where I belonged. After everyone left, I put Stella and Luke to bed. I stayed up a little later and just examined the house. It looked like it could come out of a magazine. I decided to go to bed, in the dreamless night.

Chapter 8 Jacob's Point of View I woke up in the midnight room under the thick brown covers. I turned over, trying to find sleep again, but it was useless. The clock read six and I groaned, time for school. I took a shower and combed through my hair. I picked out an outfit that Alice said looked sophisticated or something like that. I looked in the mirror and tried to fix any imperfections. I thought of Nessie, then. The way she cried in my chest yesterday made me overwhelmed. I got this sensation in my stomach, like a million people were tickling me from the inside out. Then I thought of Luke and Stella, I had noticed the way that Nessie had grabbed Stella's hand as they walked trough the house, like she was going to protect her from an invisible force. The way that she looked at Luke and when their eyes locked, any idiot could tell that they were the most important thing to her and vise versa. I wanted to do something special for her, I want her to fall in love with me. I know that I have a girlfriend and I know that it is wrong, but when I see her I just can't think straight. Everyday I plan to just be normal and to forget about it because I have Leah and she has her kids, but when I see her walk into the cafeteria and history my tongue goes numb and it feels like my insides are going to explode. Edward would laugh at me and shake his head and Jasper would chuckle, but they understood they both knew how it felt. I was surprised at how cool Edward was with it though, I would have thought that he would be controlling. I remember our conversation in my garage when I was fixing Ness's car. "You know I love her," Edward whispered after a few minutes of uncomfortable silence. I wiped my hands on a near by rag. "Yeah, I know." "You know you have a girlfriend." I ignored him. "If you do start . . . Please take it slow." I sighed. "I know." I heard a knock on my door, Seth's head popped in. "Hey we need to get to school," he said. "I can't drive you." "What?" Seth whined. "I'm gonna pick up Nessie." "Oh, okay then," Seth said and disappeared. He has been acting wired lately, not phasing, avoiding me, what was that about? Ever since Nessie asked him that question- the question that she wouldn't tell me that drove me crazySeth has been acting different. I think that he has something up his sleeve.

I left to go to pick up Nessie under the watchful eye of my brothers. I drove the ten miles to her house really quickly, we all thought it would be better if Edward was out of 'hearing' range at night. I walked up her porch steps and rang the door bell. A minute later Ness opened the door. "Jacob?" Ness was wearing a white lace dress with ruffles that accented her body perfectly. Ness had a faded jean jacket over top, a leather brown bag, and white strappy heels, I see that Alice has had some fun. "Hi." "Hey, what's up?" "Do you want a ride to school?" Ness flashed me a smile. "Thanks." My tongue went numb, I opened my mouth to say something, but she stopped me. "Wait one second," she said. "Luke, Stella," she called. "Jacob's here to pick us up." I heard a thudding of feet and before I knew it Luke and Stella were jumping in my arms. "Hey kids." "Jacob!" "Sorry 'bout them," Nessie stammered. "Nawh, it's cool. You have cute kids." We arrived at school a little later and I had to leave Nessie to go to my first hour with Bella. It actually hurt to walk away from her and to see her walk away from me. "Hey, stud," I heard Bella giggle. I laughed. "Are you trying to act cool?" Bella shrugged. "So what's the verdict?" "I honestly don't know anymore," I whispered. "How's Leah?" "She called me yesterday," I shrugged. "Are you two still a couple?" "No, I mean, yeah . . .," I groaned. "I don't know." Bella leaned in close to me. "I know what's happening to you," she whispered. "You do?" Bella nodded. "You're . . .." Bella bent her index finer to lean in. "Love sick," she whispered. "Ha ha very funny." "It's true," she leaned back. Ever since Nessie showed up, Bella has been on my side, wanting her to fall in love with me. Unlike Edward, Bella wanted our relationship to grow. "I do, however, know something." "Oh and what's that, Bells?" "She knows." Bella was suddenly very serious, her voice very low. My stomach turned into knots. "Knows what?" My voice cracked. "About you imprinting on her," Bella said slowly. I felt like I was going to throw up. My body started shaking, this could ruin everything between us. "Who told her," my voice was hard and unrecognizable. I noticed people staring at me in the class, but I couldn't care less. "Rosalie." Bella saw my murderous expression and stopped me before I could do anything rash. "Jacob, Rosalie may have made your relationship

stronger. Nessie talked to Seth about it, Edward could hear his thoughts, and he told me. She seemed like she liked the idea. She wants you to imprint her." I calmed down. "Really?" "Yes." Nessie wanted me to imprint on her? But, she was so beautiful, kind, and compassionate. How could she want me?

Chapter 9 Renesmee's Point of View It was Friday afternoon, the week was finally over. The teacher, Mr. Kay, announced to the class that he was releasing us early. Jacob and I hurried out of the building and sat down at one of the tables near the parking lot. "You know, it's weird," I started. "What?" Jacob chuckled. "It seems like the more time I spend with you and my family, the more memories come back." "Like what?" "Well, I remember dancing around the stairs and hearing loud applause, I think it was you. I remember Grandpa Carlisle streching measuring tape against me. There was a few other times that Rosalie and Alice dressing me up and there were white flashes, I'm pretty sure they were cameras." "Oh, I remember those times," Jacob laughed. "Do you remember when Bella armwrestled Emmett?" "What?" "Yeah, when Bella was a newborn she challenged Emmett." "Who won?" Jacob took his sweet time before he finally answered, "Bella." "No!" Jacob just nodded his head. "Now I have something over Emmett." Jacob chuckled. "Alright, but you didn't hear it from me." I winked, "right." We saw the rest of the Cullens walking towards the parking lot so, Jacob and I joined them. Rosalie picked up Luke and Stella with me. The rest of the day went by a little slow. Luke and Stella were buzy with weekend homework, we ate dinner, and Jacob came by later with a game that we all played. I tucked Luke and Stella in bed and they fall asleep before I left their rooms. I looked at my hands and they were trembling. I wiped them on my sides and rounded the corner where Jacob was sitting on the couch. Jacob looked more like a god than a werewolf in his t shirt that accented his muscles. "Hey, the kids in bed?" "Yeah, they fell asleep before I could even leave." I sat down next to him. "You have cute kids," Jacob chuckled. "Thanks," I said. "So I have been wondering about something." "Yeah?" "Where were you guys all of these years?" "We traveled around. We went to England first, then Poland, and Maine. When we were sure that everyone we knew here was dead or gone we came back." I was quiet. "They missed you," Jacob said. "We all did. I did." I looked up and I saw that Jacob was genuine. I stared into his dark eyes. I took a deep breath and suddenly had courage.

"Jacob, can I do something- something I've been wanting to try?" I asked without taking my eyes of of his. "Of course," Jacob said. I took another deep breath and put both of my hands on either side of his face. I slightly leaned in and Jacob responded. He closed his eyes and touched his lips very lightly to mine. His lips werelike fire blazing over mine. I inhaled without thinking and smelt the slight trace of colonge mixed in twith the woodsy smell. Jacob leaned back and smiled to catch his breath. We both leaned back in. Our lips met for the second time and I moved with their softness. Jacob's breath was like fire on my skin. Jacob pulled away again his voice was rugged and out of breath, "I should be a gentelman," he gasped. I just nodded my head as Jacob stood and walked to the door. After a few seconds I followed him. Jaocb opened the door as a whirl of cold air traveled into my house. Jacob paused his back to me in the doorway. Jacob turned around to meet my eyes. "Renesmee Carlie Cullen, I love you. I've made some big mistakes in my life, but you are the one thing that I know isn't. You are the most important thing to me, my whole world. It's not something that will go away, I won't go away unless you tell me. I was a wreck when they sent you to live with Renee and it didn't get better. I've been waiting for you for my whole life and now that your here . . . I just," Jacob nervously chuckled. "I love you so much. You are the best part of me." Jacob stared into my eyes with certainty, even when I looked away I felt his eyes burning on me. A few of unwanted tears rolled down my cheeks. I brushed them away quickly witht he back of my hand. I looked back to Jacob and knew that I felt the same way. We belonged with each other, that was obvious. And it didn't matter that it was late, it didn't matter that my family was probably within hearing distance, nothing mattered but Jacob right now. "I love you, too," I croacked. Jacob's face broke out into a big smile. Jacob stepped forward and wrapped his muscular arms around my waist. I wound my arms around his neck. Jacob burried his face in my hair. "Do you have any idea how it feels to hear that?" Jacob didn't let me answer, crushing my lips with his, sending an electric shock through me. "I should go," Jacob whispered. And he was gone.

Chapter 10 Jacob's Point of View I left Nessie's house late, and arrived in front of Leah's house. I rehearsed the lines in my head over and over. I took a deep breathing, ringing the doorbell. The door swung open, Leah's stalky figure stood behind it. Her hair was unevenly chopped at her ear, she was wearing an old t shirt with ratty shorts. Leah's eyes were black like the rest of the pack, but there were dark circles under which gave me the impression that she hadn't gotten sleep. Leah had tanned skin that accented the werewolves' tattoo. Leah was holding a big big bowl that had some remains of popcorn. "There you are," Leah said without emotion. "I haven't seen you." "Yeah." I stuffed my hands in my jeans' pockets, awkwardly. We stood there for a few minutes in uncomfortable silence. "So . . ." I started. "So, this is about her isn't it." Leah looked away from me. "What?" "Oh Jacob! Stop with this charade! I heard that Renesmee was back!" Leah yelled. "And I know that you've been spending time with her," Leah's voice broke. "Leah, I can't help that and you know it! You see into Sam's head, you know what it's like," Leah flinched at Sam's name, she still felt hurt about her ex boyfriend. "Listen, I love her." Leah met my eyes. "So, this is it then?" I nodded my head. "I need to go, I will see you around." I ran down the porch, started my car, and heard the door slam. I figured that I should go check up on the Cullens. They would have something to say about my decicions- then again, when didn't they? I arrived at the massive colonial house a few minutes later. I walked in and headed straight for the kitchen. I pulled out some lasaunga- Esme always made the pack food, but basicaly only Seth and I ate it. When I was finished, I slowly walked into the dinning room where I knew everyone would be waiting. And just as I predicted, all of the Cullens were sitting around the old wooden table. However, I was suprised to see Seth sitting in between Edward and Jasper. With a defeated exhale I sat next to Carlisle and Bella. We sat there for a few minutes in uncomfortable silence. "So, Jacob we heard that you are done with Leah and interested in Renesmee," Carlisle said. Rosalie growled under her breath, from across the table. Emmett layed one big hand on her shoulder, but she shrugged it off. "Yes." "Well, some of the family members have a few concerns about that." "Shocker," I mummbled under my breath. All at once I heard a storm of complains, I could only make out a few words like 'can't control himself', 'think about the kids', 'they just got here', I looked around to see everyone yelling at me besides Esme and Carlisle. In a split second, carlisle brought his hands to the table in a big 'whooosh'. "Hush,"

Carlisle said, this behavior was unlike him. "We are treating our guest very rudely and I will not have it. Now, Edward can you please speak for everyone?" "Everyone's concerns are basicaly the same. They think that Renesmee should focus on Luke and Stella. We think that your relationship is moving to fast, and that you have quite a temper that could be dangerous around them." "You didn't say mine," Rosalie said. "That won't happen, Rosalie," Edward said exasperated. "But it-" "That won't happen!" Edward yelled. Everyone stared with wonder at Rosalie's unspoken complaint, but I didn't think that I wanted to know. "So there you have it," Edward said. "You guys don't think I know that. I mean, I'm just as worried as you are! There are so many 'what ifs' with her and I. But, the fact that I'm aware of all of the risks that come with us, don't you think that counts for anything? I want whats best for her, Luke, and Stella- just like the rest of you. But, never in a million years would I let anyone or anything harm her- not even me," I finished, everyone was silent. Rosalie shoved the table forward, pushing her chair backward. She growled at me and stormed out of the room, Emmett was soon to follow. Alice and Jasper nodded their heads to me and left the room. Esme patted my shoulder and whispered in my ear that there was cake on the counter. Carlisle told me goodbye and wandered out of the room. Bella gave me a hug and told me to take care of Renesmee. Only Edward was left. Edward looked upset, livid with me. Maybe it was better if I just died right there. I saw him smirk a little. "I promise to take care of her," I tried. Edward glared at me, then he covered his face in his hands. "I don't want to lose her again," he sighed. I stared dumbfounded at him. "How would you lose her?" "There are so many possibilities! You date her, she falls in love, you move away together. You daate her, it ends badly, she feels the need to run away. She suddenly realizes that she needs to take Luke and Stella away from this craziness and she moves away. It seems like every situation ends with her moving away." "Wow, I never thought I'd say this, but, Edward, you've been over thinking this," I replied. "Ness is just figuring out all of the puzzle peices to her life that she has been missing. Do you really think that she would give that all up because of some impulse?" Edward sat back in his chair. "You're right, you're right," Edward folded his arms across his chest. "But what if you're not?" "Well, that's a chance you have to take," I said. "She's not a little girl anymore, hell, she's a mother!" We sat there for a while just thinking to ourselves. "I'm a grandfather," Edward whispered, I assumed mostly to himself. I laughed, "you catch on quick," I joked. Then, I made my way to the kitchen for that cake.

Chapter 11 Renesmee's Point of View Jacob came over in the morning and made breakfast. We all ate in the dinning room like a family. Later, Jacob took us to the La Push beach. Now I was sitting in a patch of sand watching Luke, Stella, and Jacob play in the water. "Luke, let's build a sand castle!" Luke ran off with Stella. I watched as they played in the sand and I saw Jacob approaching me. He came up and sat down behind me, straddling his legs around me and wrapping his arms around my waist. "Hey there," I giggled. "Hey," Jacob said and buried himself in my hair. "Where is everyone?" "What do you mean?" "My family." "They are out hunting." "So, we have the whole day to ourselves," I smiled. "And we can do whatever we want," Jacob laughed. "I might have to give the kids early bedtimes." I looked over at them and saw that they were busy. So, I twisted around and pushed Jacob down on the ground and got on top of him. I pressed my lips against his and parted them slightly. Jacob responded and held my hips. I moved to his neck and started kissing it. "I love you so much," I whispered. "I love you more," Jacob wrapped his arms around me. I shook my head. "I don't think that's possible." "Ness, I know you know about me imprinting." I looked at him in surprise. "I'm sorry." "Why are you apologizing?" "Because your kind of stuck with me." I laughed. "That's the good part silly." "What about Leah?" "It's over between us," Jacob simply stated. I processed that. "Jacob, do you know how I was asking about it before and you said that there were different kinds of imprinting? Well what kind of imprint do you have on me?" "Every situation is different, but ours is like Paul and Rebecca's or Sam and Emily's. Except our is stronger. I don't know why it is, but I can hear their thoughts and I know that I love you more than they love their other's. I don't know if it is because I saw you when you were little so our love had more time to grow. Carlisle thinks it's because of the time I met you in my life and what I

was going through. But-" I put my hand over his mouth. "Hey, it doesn't matter. What matters now is that we are all together." Jacob moved my hand from his mouth to his cheek. "Mommy! Look at our sand castle!" Stella shouted. Jacob and I both got up and walked over to the pile of sand that Luke and Stella made. "It's gorgeous Stella," I said. "Nessie?" I heard a voice call. I turned around to see one of the star football players call my name, I met him when I got his number earlier this week. "Hi Travis," I said, thank goodness I remembered his name. Travis jogged over to us. "I didn't expect to see you here." Travis smiled at me. He looked over to Jacob for the first time. "Jacob." Travis nodded his head. "Travis," Jacob replied and wrapped his arm around my waist. Travis's eyes followed Jacob's hand then, he shook his head. "Uh yeah. It looked like a nice day so, we decided to spend it at the beach." I put my hand on Luke's head. "Who are these kids?" Travis asked. "These kids are my kids. This is Luke and this is Stella." "Hi Travis," Luke said, but Stella ignored him and just played in the sand. "Wait you have kids?" Travis asked. I nodded. "How old are you?" "Nineteen." "I thought you were a junior." Whoops. "I started late and I was held back," I lied. Just then some of the other jocks ran up the beach. "Well, that's the team. I better get going. See you around," Travis ran away. "Well, that was awkward," I said and Jacob broke out into a roar of laughter. "It doesn't matter that guy is a total tool," Jacob replied. I laughed. "Let's go home." Jacob bent down and kissed my ear. After the kids were in bed Jacob and I kissed until it seemed like our lips would fall off. Later, Jacob reluctantly left for the night.

Chapter 12 Renesmee's Point of View Luke, Stella, and I drove to the gand colonial. The Cullens' showed up later in the day, everyone was there but Edward and Bella. Alice picked out my outfit and did my hair and makeup for my double date with Jacob. I probably spent half of the day in her giant bathroom. Alice would occasionally mutter things like 'so easy' or 'much better than your mother' what ever that was supposed to mean. Stella was running through Alice's closet trying on every accessory possible. Stella came out in a big, floppy hat that covered half of her face, enormous sunglasses, little pink high heels that were twice as big as her size, and a feather scarf. "How do I look?" Stella smiled really big at Alice and I. We both started laughing historically."Hey what's so funny?" "You are just to cute Miss Stella," Alice stated. Stella swiped her hair across one shoulder. "I know." Which again almost brought Alice and I to tears, well at least me. "I have no idea where she learned that." "Ready, set, hut," Emmett and Luke were playing football in the other room. Luke grabbed the ball out of Emmett's arms and made a break for it. Emmett ran in slow motion, well at least for him, and tackled Luke. Emmett threw me the football and I caught it with ease. "Well, I heard you got pretty wild while we were gone," Emmett laughed. I glared at him and threw the ball at his head as hard as I could. He caught it and broke out into a roar of laughter. "Luke, Stella, why don't you go find Grandma Esme and Carlisle." Once they were gone I turned to Emmett. "Shut up, don't talk like that in front of my kids." Emmett threw his hands up in the air as a truce. "Hey, you did it . . . Literally." "Knock it off. No we didn't!" "You're right, you're right. But, just wait you're gonna be wanting my reaction from everybody." "Oh no." "Oh yeah." "It's not that bad," Alice mumbled. "What did they do."

"Oh you'll see." I sat up taller. "Well, I'm grown up with kids of my own, Edward and Bella can't punish me or control me." Emmett raised his eyebrows. "You have no idea what Ed and Bella are capable of." A chill raced down my back. "Well, anyways we all knew it was coming sooner or later. Speaking of the devil, I think I am going to go watch football with Jacob." Alice finished up with me an hour later. She saw a vision that it was going to rain, so she dressed me in a cute rain coat. I walked down the stairs to find Jacob waiting. "Nessie, you look amazing," Jacob gaped. "So, do you." Jacob was wearing a white dress shirt with a dark was jean. "You ready?" "Yeah. Grandma Esme can you watch Luke and Stella until I get back?" Grandma Esme was suddenly right next to me. "Of couse." We drove in Jacob's car to Port Angeles. When we arrived in the parking lot, Jacob opened my door, grabbed my hand, and lead me to the entrance. As we approached we saw the long line ahead. I stood on my tip toes, but of course Jacob spotted Rachel and Paul with his abnormal height. Jacob towed me along in the crowd. "Hey guys," Rachel and Paul called. "Hey," I replied. "What have you guys been up to?" Paul asked. Rachel was eyeing our intwhined hands. Jacob wrapped his arm around my shoulders. "Oh nothing much, just hanging out." Jacob looked at me and winked. I giggled and playfully slaped his arm. "What about you guys?" "Marissa is sick, so we got Emily to babysit for us." "Oh that's to bad," I said. The line started thining out just as Paul and Rachel's eyes swept behind me in shock. I turned around to see a tall women walking towards us. She was wearing long shorts and a t shrit. The woman's hair was chopped at the ear and she was tan like Jacob and Paul. As she got closer I saw her hard black eyes with average features, and also the tattoo on her arm that the pack had. Jacob hadn't turned around to see her yet. The woman walked straight up to me without hesitating she slapped me across the face. The blow sent a sharp pain through my jaw and I heard a sound like a clap when she connected. Jacob whirled around to see her glaring at me. "Leah," he said, and it all made sence. Jacob sheilded me with his body. I looked around his elbow to see Leah staring me down. "That is enough!" Jacob's voice was hard, something that I had never heard from him. "Leave. Now." Jacob growled. Leah glared one last time at me. "Thief," her voice was cold. She was nothing like I had imagined someone like Jacob would be with. Leah stalked away. Jacob turned arond to me, his giant hands cradleing my face. "Are you okay?" Jacob asked kissing every inch of my face. "Did you get hurt?" he asked in between kisses. "I'm fine, I'm fine," I giggled. "Man, if I thought that you would react this way then I would have gone up to her a while ago." I heard Jacob's husky

laugh. I caught his lips to mine and held him there. I heard Paul clear his throat from behind us, I laughed and turned around. Jacob wrapped his arms around my stomach from behind me. We watched the movie for two hours, I barely paid attention to any of it because I was holding Jacob's hand. Once it was over and the lights came back on Jacob whispered in my ear. "Would you like to meet someone?" I nodded and he smiled. "Who is it?" "It's a suprise." We said goodbye to Rachel and Paul and Jacob lead me to his car in the dark. We finally arrived at a small home with trees cascading around it. It looked like a red, little barn with white beams and shudders. Jacob smiled at me and grabbed my hand. Jacob lead me to the house and he opened the unlocked door. We stepped into a little kitchen that connected to a living room. "Dad?" Jacob called out. "Dad?" An old man in a wheelchair strolled into the small kitchen. The man had russet skin like Jacob and long white hair. He had a smaller frame than Jacob, but he was still sturdy. "Jacob is that you?" his husky voice croacked. "Yeah Dad, I want you to meet someone. This is Renesmee, Renesmee this is my dad, Billy." I held out my hand. "It's so nice to meet you, Mr. Black." Billy shook my hand. "You too Renesmee, but please call me Billy." "Billy," I said. "Jacob's been nonstop talking about you, I feel like I already know you. My oh my, you are much prettier then he let on." I laughedd. "Oh yeah?" I said eyeing Jacob. "Yeah, everytime he talks to a pretty girl he doesn't stop smiling, his hands get all sweaty, and he starts singing in the shower. And let me tell you everytime he comes home he does just that," Billy stated. I broke out into a roar of laughter. "Dad," Jacob groaned. "I do not." "Oh yes you do son. Don't deny it." I stood on my tip toes and kissed his cheek. "It's okay. It's part of your charm." We spent three hours at Billy's just talking about life. It was good to unferstand where Jacob came from and understand his roots. It brought us closer together as a couple. After a game of cards and a slice of pie Jacob whispered in my ear, "do you want to come with me somewhere?" "Yes," I said. "Hey Dad I think Nessie and I are going to jet she needs to get back home to her kids." "Okay, drive safely. I t was nice meeting you." "Nice meeting you to Billy," I said as Jacob towed me out the door to his car. We arrived to the La Push Library a few minutes later. "Jacob what in the world are we doing here?" "You'll see." Jacob lead me to the back were there was a ladder attached to the building. Jacob climbed it with ease and I followed. We ened up on the

roof of the old building and Jacob layed down right in the middle. I stood there waiting. Jacob looked up at me. "Are you coming or not?" I walked and layed down next to me and he slipped his muscluar arm under my head like a pillow. I saw a blanket of stars above us. It was one of the most beutiful things that I have ever seen. The night sky was clear. Jacob pointed his fingers above us naming stars like Orion's Belt, The Big Dipper, and Mars. There were probably a million of them. I looked up at the full moon and admired it's beauty. I looked at Jacob and something changed sub counsiously. His faced reflected the moonlight and he was squintign at the stars. But, I no longer saw the Jacob that I had. I saw the man that was laying next to me, I saw the man that introduced me to his dad on our first date, I saw the man that adored my kids, and I saw the man that loved me. For the first ime, in a long time, I thought about my future. I didn't know what was going to happen or how it was, but I knew that Jacob would be in it with me. By my side. Forever. With Jacob it felt easy, like breathing, and I felt safe with him, but most importantly I knew that no matter what happened, if we had each other, then everything would be alright. That was the night that I truly, wholy fell in love with Jacob Black.

Chapter 13 Renesmee's Point of View Over the next month, Jacob and my relationship flew by really quickly. Jacob would drive me to school and hang out with my kids and I. Everything was perfect until today. I went over to Alice's little house early in the morning on Saturday to get ready for the day. Rosalie came over to do my hair later. "So how are things with Jacob?" asked Alice. "We're good. We're happy," I said. "Good, I am glad that he is doing better," Alice said. "What do you mean?" "Well, when Bella had to choose between him, and she chose Edward, I think he hurt for awhile." "Yeah," I laughed. "Wait what?" I asked. "Bella loved Jacob?" "You didn't know?" Alice asked. "Alice!" Rosalie whispered. "Sorry, I thought she knew," Alice said. "Did he love her?" I asked through my teeth. "Well . . .," Alice said. I got up out of my chair and stormed down the stairs, I rushed in my car to the main house. I walked into the house to find everyone in the living room. Jacob was sitting down on the couch next to Carlisle. "Really Jacob? My mom?" Jacob was speechless. "Why didn't you tell me?" I asked. "I didn't think it mattered," Jacob whispered. "It didn't matter? She's my mother." "I know, but I didn't even think about it because I don't think of her that

way." Everyone was silent, just sitting there awkwardly. Jacob rose from the white leather couch and walked slowly to me. "It matters to me," I said as he took me into his arms. "Next time can you tell me?" I asked into his chest. "Of course, if it matters that much to you." Jacob, Rosalie, and Emmett took Luke, Stella, and I hiking for the day. When we got back to the house we all grabbed water, except for Rosalie and Emmett, and sat down in the living room. Rosalie and Emmett took Luke and Stella upstairs to go play, while Jacob and I stayed in the living room. "Nessie, I've been wondering about something," Jacob said. "Yeah?" "You might get mad." "Just tell me." Jacob took a deep breath. "Who is Luke and Stella's dad?" "Right," I laughed. I looked at his face and he was serious. "Wait, do you really not know?" For the first time since I moved to Forks I thought about Phil, the darkest period of my life. Suddenly, Edward was right next to me. His eyes were blazing with fear and anger washed over his face. The living room was much more crowded. "Edward?" Bella asked with alarm thick in her voice. Edward's face changed when he heard Bella's voice. He crumbled to the ground in front of me and broke into tearless sobs. "I'm so sorry, so sorry," Edward mummbled. "Nessie?" Jacob asked in alarm. I was speechless, how had I not have told them? How could I tell them? "Tell them," Edaward answered my thoughts. So, I did. I told them of Renee's death, of Phil's job loss and alcohol addiction, and when he raped me. Everyone just stood there, speechless. I looked at all of their faces and most of them were the same. Shock, alarm, and pain. I couldn't make myself look at Jacob's face though. That would be to painful for me. But, suddenly Jacob shoved my hand away from his and pushed his body off of the sofa. "What?" Jacob yelled, he hadn't ever yelled at me before and I was frozen. "Why didn't you tell me?" "Why didn't you tell me about you and my mom?" "Don't start with me Ness! You know that's not the same!" "Is it?" I yelled back. "That's different and you know it!" "Why are you acting this way?" "Because I want to protect you! I don't want you to go through that! How could you blow it off like it's nothing?" Jacob asked. "I need to get out of here." Jacob stormed to the door. "Wait? Jacob! Are you coming over tonight?" I was embarassed to ask this in front of my family, but at this point I only needed Jacob. "I don't know. I don't know about us anymore." And he was gone. Jacob didn't come over that night, or that week. I called his a few times, but there was no answer and no call back. Jacob wasn't at school either. I started to think that I should have told him, it was important and he deserved

to know. And he was right, it wasn't like him and my mom, I guess that it was a bigger deal than that. I was walking from the garage to the main house one day after school. The rest of my family ran in the house, Edward and I were the only ones still outside. He was walking back when it started raining. I gained my confedince and took a deep breath. "Why did you leave me?" I shouted as unwanted tears covered my cheeks. Edward turned around to face me with confusion on his face. "Why did you give me to Renee? What did I do wrong?" Edward walked towards me. "You did nothing wrong Renesmee. The Volturi were after you when you were a baby, they didn't know if you were dangerous. They came once and we saw that they were going to take you away when you were older. We had to hide you, we had to try. So, your mom and I gave you to Renee." "Really?" "Yes." "So it wasn't because you didn't want me." Edward was astonished. "Of course not we love you and we still do." I suprised myself by wrapping my arms around his waist and taking him in for a hug. I started to sob for everything in my life that went wrong, Jacob, Renee, and Phil. Edward pateintly held me in the rain and kissed my hair as I cried into his shirt. My idea of Edward changed after that, he was no longer like a friend to me he was my father. I needed Edward more and more over the next week. Edward would bring Stella, Luke, and I dinner or he would take us out for a day in the park. Stella and Luke started calling him Grandpa and I started to call him dad.

Chapter 14 Jacob's Point of View I sat under the new car I was fixing up in my dad's garage. Quil and Embry wouldn't shut up as I rolled back and forth moving like a cheeta to get this car fixed. They just kept talking about this new movie that came out or something about working out, I wasn't listening and I didn't care. How could they try to talk to me like nothing happened? My world was crashing down on me. How could Renesmee just think that it was no big deal? This was a federal crime we were talking about! I wheeled back out and slamed my tool on the floor. Embry and Quil took one look at me and left before I made a scene in front of them. I needed to protect her and I couldn't even do that! If I couldn't protect her than I was useless! I slammed my fists on the hood of the car. I looked at the damage and saw two big dents. I cursed. I turned around and saw Leah walking towards me in the distance.

Chapter 15 Renesmee's Point of View One week after Jacob ended it with me, we were getting ready for Grandpa Charlie's funeral. We arrived at the small graveyard in Forks were he would be buried. I saw various people who I did not recognize, but who my family said hello to. We all sat down in the back and Stella and Luke sat on my lap. Once the semon began I scanned the small crowd for Jacob. "Up front," Rosalie whispered in my ear. I found him sitting next to a few of the wolves from the pack and a few other native american women who I didn't recognize. I waited one long hour before the preacher ended the funeral. "Watch Luke and Stella please." I moved them onto Rosalie's lap. I brisquly walked over to where Jacob wasstanding alone. "Jacob," I said. "Nessie?" "Listen, I think that you were right. It was a bigger deal than you and Bella. I think we can still work it out. Just please give me another chance." "Nessie, now is not a good time." Just then, the preacher walked up to Jacob and I with Leah right next to him. The preacher put his hand on my shoulder. "Nessie, have you met Jacob's fiance?" The preacher pointed to Leah. Leah smiled at me, I looked over to Jacob and his eyes were on the ground. They were getting married. That's when everything went black.

Chapter 16 Renesmee's Point of View I heard a faint knock, I opened my eyes to see that I was in my room. "Come in," I said grogily. The door opened, Bella steped in, and closed it behind her. "Good morning," she said. "Good morning, what happened?" I asked as she sat down on the end of my bed. "You fainted at the wedding, about that . . . I might be able to help." "How?" "Well, you see, I was in a similar situation. I loved Jacob and Edward both. When the time came, I chose your faher. It seems that you are in Jacob's position." "What do I do? I only want Jacob back." "Every situation is different, but you shouldn't give up. He still loves you, so don't stop trying." I processed that. "Bella, there was something that Alice said a while ago. Something about you working with your powers, I was wondering if you could help me get mine back." Bella's face lit up. "Of course, it was very hard, but I managed to push my sheild out to protect others. I do it quite often with the family." "How do I start?" "Well, first get dressed and we will begin training." We had been practicing for hours outside the main house. Our family was watching at the windows. "Okay," Bella grabbed my hand. "Now think of any thing at all, but try to let the memory engulf you." I thought of Luke and Stella and how proud I was of them. "Are you thinking?" "It's not working!" I complained.

"Think of something that makes you mad." Phil. "Now let the pain and misery wash over you." I thought of my time living with Phil. I let the fire that burned when I thought of him raze over my body. I let the heat engluf my body, my body was like a wild fire destroying everything in it's path. I felt a breif click in my head and then the fire ended. I fell to the grass. "You did it!" Bella exclaimed. Then everyone was around me, hugging. I did it, I really did it. "How long was it?" "A few seconds," Bella said. Edward gave me a hug. "I'm so proud of you," he whispered with Stella in his arms. "What did you do?" Stella asked. Everyone laughed. "I will tell you when you are older." I didn't want Stella and LUke to know about the world that I live in for three reasons. One, I didn't want hem telling their friends about it. Two, I didn't want them to think that it was normal. Three, I didn't want them thinking that all vampires and werewolves were good. The following days were very hard. My life fell into a certain routine: School, practice, dinner, sleep. Since I wasn't buzy I had to much time to think about Jacob. Jacob didn't go back to school and I doubted that he would. Ever since he was gone, all of the boys at school gave me more attention, but I couldn't care less. The only time that I was happy was when I was with Luke and Stella. When I would get really depressed, Emmett was the main person that stepped up. He would bring the kids and I food, movies, and he would work out with me. When I was with Emmett it took a little of my pain away. But, tonight I wasn't in the mood. I tucked the kids into bed. "Emmett, can you watch the kids, while I go out." "Sure." "Thanks." I walked out the door to my car and headed for Port Angeles. I walked the streets looking for a bar. I walked into a trashy one were it reeked of smoke and creepy men. I lowered my shirt a little and raised my shorts so the bar tender wouldn't ID me. I walked through the door and heard a gasp. Smoke swirled around me in the dimly lit bar. I sat down on one of the stools. "Can I get you a drink?" the bar tender asked a little breathless. "Sure, vodka?" "Right away," he winked at me. "I haven't seen you around here before." "I just need to get away." The bar tender poured the alcohol in my glass and I took a sip. I let the fire burn down my throat into my stomach. I felt the after taste of strawberries. I liked the feeling and took a big gulp. "Hard to believe that a pretty girl like you could need to get away from something." Everything started to go a little blurry. "It's my ex." "Oh," the bar tender seemed to understand more now. "Well, if he broke up with a pretty girl like you I'm sure that he was crazy." I took another big gulp, but my glass was empty. I slid it to the bar tender. "Another?" "No problem, this one is on me." He passed me another fresh glass.

"So,what happened with your ex?" "He found someone else." I finished the glass and I was getting light headed. "Ah, the same old sob story. But, I'll tell you I bet she's not as pretty as you." The bar tender's heavy flirting was getting annoying. "Can I g-get another?" I asked. A farmiliar song came on, I couldn't detect who sang it but, I knew that I loved it. I stood up and went to a small stage that was probably meant for karioke. I started dancing to the music sub conciously, all of the men in the room looked to me and crowded around the stage. I saw women leaving and more men off of the street come in. I started loosing my self in the music as the bar was becoming crowed with cheering men. The stage was being covered with little green rectangles, were they money? Why were they throwing money? I decided that it didn't matter, I just wanted to dance. And almost like a dream, I saw Jacob walk right by the enterance of the bar. We saw each other and in that instant, his face morped into anger. Jacob clenched his fists, his mouth became straight in a hard line, nostrails flaring. Then, there were two of him. Jacob stalked forward. "Oh Jacob! Your here!" I whispered. Jacob didn't stop, he walked right up to until his shoulder was right at my waist. With one swift movement, he picked me off of the stage and onto his shoulder so that my face was facing his back and my legs were next to his chest. I heard a faint protest of the men that were watching me. Jacob turned to face them and they immediantly stopped, I guess his face said it all. Jacob carried me out of the bar into the cold night. "What the hell were you thinking? That was so dumb! Think of Luke and Stella!" Jacob raged. I was starting to reginmy sight and my headach went away. "Why her?" I asked and instantly regreted it. "Excuse me?" "Why her, Jacob?" "Your drunk," Jacob shook his head. "No I'm not!" Jacob set me down on the abandoned street. "Why her? It just doesn't make sence. Did you want someone taller or with shorter hair?" Jacob looked away before I could notice the pain and agony in his eyes. "Because I will do it Jake! I can wear heels and I'll cut my hair! Just tell me why her?" I pead. Jacob looked at the ground and took a deep breath. His eyes finally met mine and I saw the hurt written all over them. "She's pregnant." It seemed that I was fainting a lot around Jacob. So, just on cue everything went black. Chapter 17 Renesmee's Point of View I woke up in the pitch balck comfort of my room. I threw the covers over my head and tried to find sleep again. I sighed in anger and got out of bed. I stormed over to the big widows, I threw back the thick curtains. I was temporarily blinded by the bight rays of gold. The light flooded my room and I crumpled to the floor crying. I took a few deep breaths and regained my composure. I sulked to my

bathroom to splash water on my face. I stared at the stranger in the mirrior. She had unnaturally pale skin with sliver streaks lining her cheeks. Her face was all puffy framing her pink eyes. Then, I realized the she was me. I heard a knock on my door as Emmett walked in. I lost it. "Oh Emmett, it's over! It's over! She's pregnant, it's over!" Emmett grabbed me in his arms and I cried like I never had before.
