Home Studies

I cannot emphasize how important home studies are. Please make every effort to complete them on
time. The school policy on late work is as follows:

• On time: you have an opportunity for full credit

• 1 day late: 10% penalty (best possible score is 90%)

• 2 days late: 20% penalty (best possible score is 80%)

• 3 days or more late: Attend an after school remediation class to complete the work.

Label all submitted work with your name, the assignment including section numbers, and the date.
Please use lined paper for all work you turn in to me.

Portfolio

You will create a geometry portfolio throughout the semester and turn it in during finals week in May.
Portfolio items are listed on the calendar, below and include: 1) Astrolabe (p. 254), 2) Geometric kites
(p. 306 & Wikipedia: Kite_(geometry)), 3) Scale model floor plans, and 4) Indirectly measure the
heights of 5 Roswell landmarks (p. 460). The portfolio will count as an assessment; all assessments will
combine to ½ of your overall grade.
