Note:-
1. The above expression is applicable for plinth area ranges from 30 to 300m2(one floor)
2. In case of single and double storeyed framed buildings, and up to 100m2 (one floor) for four
storeyed framed building.
3. The above table gives material for one floor / storey. Multiply the No. of Storeys to get total
Quantity.

2. Include the following, if present:
a. For slab thickness > 100 mm add extra quantity per m2 over 0.1m3
b. For floor systems with primary and secondary beams add + 0.02 m3 / m2
c. For canopy in G.F, add 0.01 m3 / m2
d. For drops up to 1.20 m, add 0.01 m3 / m2
e. For Continuous sunshade of 0.60 to 0.75 m alround the building, add 0.15 m3 / m2
f. For sun- breakers up to 0.6 m, add 0.01 m3 / m2

Estimation of Quantity of Reinforcement
For rough calculation of reinforcement steel in construction Projects following thumb rule
may be adopted:
(i) Slab 80 Kg / m3
(ii) Beam 110 Kg / m3
(iii) Column 160 Kg / m3
(iv) Footing slab 80 Kg / m3
Note:-
As per IS 456 – 2000 Maximum cement content should not exceed 450 Kg / m3
for the cement mortar to ensure that heat of hydration and shrinkage cracking
are prevented.
