APPROVED: Captain Jeffrey Hertel FOR RELEASE: June 27, 2012 FOR FURTHER INFORMATION: Captain Jeffrey Hertel Phone: 456-3499 Fax: 456-4490 11-062025 WARRANT ISSUED FOR JULY 4, 2011 SHOOTING On July 4, 2011, at approximately 11:20 p.m., Grand Rapids Police responded to 131 Monroe Center, Rosa Parks Circle, on the report of a shooting. One victim was located at the scene. An additional victim was identified at an area hospital. Both of the victims had suffered gunshot wounds to their legs. Investigations conducted by the Metropolitan Area Major Case Task Force provided additional information on individuals involved in this incident. Further investigation was conducted and the information was presented to the Kent County Prosecutors Office. On Tuesday, June 26, 2012, the Prosecutors Office authorized a two-count warrant for Devontae Traquell Collier, male, DOB 12/23/1991. Collier was charged with Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm Less Than Murder and Habitual Offender-3rd. Collier had been held at the Kent County Correctional Facility on unrelated charges. Collier will be arraigned on the new charges on Wednesday, June 27, 2012.
