Background of the Study Methods and Procedures To validate the observation that female students can perform well when they are full, the researchers had 30 female students review a prepared reviewer (Appendix A) for 5 minutes and then take a short 20 item quiz (Appendix B) for 5 minutes, given to them before lunch and another 30 female students undergo the same procedure after lunch. The female subjects are taken randomly from the different Schools of Saint Louis University. Before lunch, 15 students from the School of Humanities and 15 students from the School of Teacher Education took the quiz. And after lunch, 15 students taken from the School of Natural Sciences and 15 students from the School of Humanities took the same quiz.

The obtained t (58) = -1.37 falls within the critical region, therefore there is no significant difference between the performance of those female subjects who took the quiz before lunch and those who took the quiz after lunch.

V.

Discussion (Interpretation) A two sample t-test assuming equal variances therefore there is a significant difference between the performance of those female subjects who took the quiz before lunch(M= 14, SD= 24.94)and those who took the quiz after lunch(M= 16, SD= 8). This means that for females, taking quizzes or exams when they are full is more effective than taking quizzes or exams when they are hungry, thus proving the observation right.
