I. Introduction
Topics in chemistry education might include understanding how students learn chemistry, how best to teach chemistry, and how to improve learning outcomes by changing teaching methods and appropriate training of chemistry instructors, within many modes, including classroom lecture, demonstrations, and laboratory activities. There is a constant need to update the skills of teachers engaged in teaching chemistry, and so chemistry education speaks to this need. The higher educational authorities require the teachers to focus on major subjects (English, Math and Science). This is done to acquire higher competencies on these subjects and based on Basic

Education Sector Reform Agenda (BESRA). Mastery on the three major subjects is needed for the learners to face global competitiveness. On the first week of June 2010, Pre test has been given to the students and took the Post test on the third week of March 2011. This test measures the skills developed by the students and assess the competencies learned. Its objectives are to determine the efficiency of teachers, effectiveness of their methods, their strengths, weaknesses and needs. The researcher conducted this study to make a comparison of the test result in pre test and post test in Science III among the third year students.

II. Statement of the Problem 1. What is the mean percentage score (MPS) of the 30 selected third year students in pre test and post test result in Science subject? 2. Is there a significant difference between the pre test and post test result in Science subject among the 30 selected third year students?

III. Statement of Hypothesis There is no significant difference between the pre test and post test result in Science subject among the 30 selected third year students.

IV. Presentation of Data

There are 70 third year students in Pigdaulan National High School. The researcher gathered the test result of the pre test and post test from the 30 selected third year students.

VI. Conclusion Based from the result on the analysis of data, the 30 students got a higher level of performance in Post test compared to their Pre test.

VII. Recommendations From the findings, the following remedial measures must be given importance to improve the competencies and skills in Science III. 1. Strategies presented in class must be used appropriately to meet the skills and abilities of students. 2. Improved visual aids and more hands on activities must be used for the students to be motivated to learn. 3. Rigid review of the topics in PSSLC should be conducted through written test and
graded recitation.

I. Introduction Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology etc. are new and relatively unfamiliar informational fields, learners have to be more active, exploratory and self-regulated during the comprehension-building process(Tergan, 1997).These skills need to be taught and monitored as part of the instructional process. The higher educational authorities require the teachers to focus on major subjects (English, Math and Science). This is done to acquire higher major competencies subjects is on these for subjects the and based to on Basic global Education Sector Reform Agenda (BESRA) .
