Exercise

- All the items are in the target language - No explicit grammar rule would be applied. - Ss would have induced the grammar rule they need to fill in the blanks from e.g & practice with earlier parts of the lesson
Dictation

- T reads the passage 3x - 1st time = T reads at a normal speed

- 2nd time = T reads the passages phrase by phrase, pausing long enough to allow Ss to write down what they have heard - Last time = T again reads at a normal speed and Ss check their work.

- Included one e.g of a technique used to give Ss listening comprehension practice.

Writing

- T asked Ss to write a paragraph in their own words on a topic. - Ss could have done this from memory - Use the reading passage in the lesson as a model.
