B. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
Aims: This lesson aims to provide students with:
- Listening practice for details
- Listening practice for main ideas
- Speaking practice about causes and effects
- Demonstrate speaking skills (check their understandings, causes and effects) to produce
spoken texts at B1 level.
Activity 4: Speaking skill tips - Ss read the strategies in the Whole class
box.
- T teaches about the speaking skill tips and asks
Ss to do the exercise.
- T puts Ss in breakout room to practice speaking - Ss discuss with their partners Pair

T had a very creative way to check if Ss could do the exercises by providing them with a
poll (How many gaps can you fill in) in the Jam board on Google Meet.
T asked Ss to type their answers into the chat box => to check spelling, correct answers =>
effective way.
T used some polite questions to ask for Ss responses: “May I invite…?” This is an
effective and polite way of inviting Ss and the effects were good because a lot of Ss raised
their hands to answer. After that, T gave thanks to them.
T also thanked each student who typed their answers into the chat box: “Thank you for
sending the response on the chat box.”.
T encouraged Ss to raise their voices even if they made mistakes. She said, “It’s ok to
make mistakes.”
T divided the class into breakout rooms so that Ss could have chances to practice speaking
with each other.
T had three different accounts to present the lecture, to talk and to check Ss responses on
the chat box.
Almost all the students were able to speak English fluently although some of the students
did not know how to use correct words in context to talk about a particular topic.
Ss were funny and able to make jokes in front of class when having shared their ideas.

The first video is too fast. T recommend Ss when hearing on Youtube, Ss can slow down the
speed by using playback speed tool.
T let Ss watch and hear another video which is slower.
Activity 2: Homework correction
Ss play kahoot to to review the homework vocabulary and listening task.
T moves to the speaking part. Ss present in group in breakout room. TA assists the Ss.
