FX: SUPERS with MUSIC (truncated form of previous video) Guided by a Vision Motivated by Spirit Powered by Community [LOGO] SUSTAINABLE RACINE V/O: Initiated at the neighborhood level and supported by the Presidents Council on Sustainable Development, SUSTAINABLE RACINE is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that was created in 1996. Its mission: Involve all sectors of the populace as part of a national effort to make our community the best it can be for everyone, every day. Sustainable Racine was initiated and championed by Sam Johnson, the Chairman-emeritus of SC Johnson, who served on the White House Council on Sustainable Development. His vision and energy provide the foundation for all weve been able to accomplish. 98% of money spent on SUSTAINABLE RACINE projects stays right in Racine; from the creation of handsome bronze building markers for downtown historic and architecturally significant buildings, to putting local contractors to work on various building projects. VISUAL:

STILL or FOOTAGE of Racine artisan John D. Van Koningsveld working on bronze markers (with SUPER of his name), followed by construction shot.
The SUSTAINABILITY concept central to our mission derives its strength through the three pillars of our vision:

has identified five specific goal areas into which we distribute our resources:

VISUAL: Each of the five specific goals will occupy their own thematic screens as V/O describes that specific goal.
DOWNTOWN, in partnership with the Downtown Racine Corporation and in service to the DOWNTOWN PLAN. The goal in EDUCATION: Guaranteed learning opportunities for all children. We envision Greater Racine REGIONAL PLANNING that promotes sustainable growth and development, and shares local revenues and services for the common good. Sustainable Racine remains in active partnership with the Racine County Economic Development Corporation, whose comprehensive, county-wide ECONOMIC ADJUSTMENT STUDY has already resulted in sweeping improvements. Sustainable Racines focus on NEIGHBORHOOD PLANNING has provided neighborhood groups with the tools needed to create and expand community-building assets. These results are particularly immediate and stunning.

Sustainable Racines State Street Grocery Store and Restaurant project, for example, has become the catalyst for a stunning reinvigoration of the State Street Corridor. This much-traveled approach to Downtown Racinewhich once appeared abandoned and impoverished, now shines aesthetically and economically. The Randolf Street T-block coalition received funds to create a neighborhood garden, which has since grown and thrived into a beautiful, life-affirming green space that encourages a sense of community. SUPER: Sherrylynn Campbell V/O: Sherrylynn Campbell, Randolf Street

The Garden is just a blessing for us because its like a NEW BIRTH. [edit] We have a neighborhood meeting the second Tuesday of the month, so we go in the garden and meet in the garden when its nice enough. When the weather permits we meet therewe have the barbeque there.

V/O:

And the spirit is spreading; gardens in the first and second districts are now also flourishing. The North Beach Playground is designed by local kids and built with volunteer power, a true community collaboration. Sustainable Racine worked hand-in-hand with volunteers and activists to make the park a reality.

SUPER: Bob Ortel V/O:

They have been a major source of good funding assistance; they have also been a major source of good counseling and contacts in the city of Racine to get this project rolling and keep it moving.
Creating and maintaining the Oak Park Playground has brought the surrounding neighborhood together. Tillie Hyatt

V/O: SUPER: Tillie Hyatt V/O:

Everyone contributed. Everyone in the neighborhoodpeople who didnt even live in the neighborhood. [edit] The playground is just wonderful. Its just wonderful to see the kids playing there instead of on the street, and having to worry.

VISUAL IDEA for the SOUNDBYTES above: While the person in question is speaking, show a montage of the specific projects he/she is speaking of in the background (as well as key phrases and words). In the FOREGROUND, have a STILL SHOT of them speaking (fairly big 2/3 screen at least, and cut-out) come in from offscreen and move slowly from left to right, dissolving into one or two slightly different expressions and poses as they transit across the background.

V/O:

Set to open in July, the Root River Pathway is a wonderful addition to our citys park system; a great place for bicycling, rollerblading, or just old fashioned strolling. These are but a few of the building blocks which have led to Racines new designation as an ALL-AMERICA CITY [SUPER: logo]. SUSTAINABLE RACINE sponsored the citys entry, and the West Sixth Street Revitalization Effort was one of three projects presented in our winning application.

V/O:

Another high-visibility project is our beachs recognition in the national BLUE WAVE CAMPAIGN [SUPER: logo] as one of only two participants on the Great Lakes. The BLUE WAVE CAMPAIGN is Americas first environmental certification for beaches, and members who hope to fly the BLUE WAVE flag at their beaches are judged on 33 criteria.

[perhaps scroll up criteria list here].

How important is a healthy lakefront? The economic impact to Racine County from decreased beach closings cannot be overstated - - especially given the fact that the beaches cannot be used year-round. V/O: What also cannot be overstated is the profound difference made all over Racine due to the support of All-Saints Healthcare. Were extremely grateful for your ongoing commitment to Sustainable Racine and our community. Your financial contributions are directly responsible for the great transformation happening all around us

V/O: VISUAL/FX: We dont plan to slow down. Our partnership projects already touch virtually all parts of Racine

This will be executed to show dynamically the VARIETY, QUANTITY and GEOGRAPHIC BREADTH of Sustainable Racines projects: Overhead map of Racine, then pop-up dots start to appear slowly and begin to pepper the map, each accompanied by a super specifying the name of the project (which fades to make room for the next one). ALTERNATELY: Have the dots on the map appear OUTWARD from the center to emulate a ripple in water.

but theres still much work to be done.

I think the more we put into it, the more theyll help us also, so its just great. THANK YOU SUSTAINABLE RACINE!
And thank you All-Saints Healthcare.
