Activity and Discussion Group Work Grade Descriptors

NO participation Student was disengaged, perhaps even attending to phone calls/ texting/ etc. Student was not using notes and did not respond to prompting from leader or other students. (...somewhere in between) Student had notes and some thoughts, but may not have primarily utilized Bible verses and theological ideas during participation. May have had a question about class material. Student had questions and ideas, with few undeveloped ideas or opinion-based statements. Student usually responded well to questions and other students' ideas. Student neither dominated NOR avoided discussion. Student was engaged, using notes, asking good questions, responding with maturity to other students and group leader. Student listened to others' perspectives and maintained focus on class materials and relevant Bible verses. Student solidly backed ideas with Bible verses, and engaged with theological ideas rather than opinions.
